Console Commands were heavily exploited and God Mode was nearly permanently on. I'm 28 now. I do love the memories I have, as I spent a lot of time on the game however its my least favourite out of the 3 I've played.

Perhaps due to said fire, they no longer possess the source files for this game, and can't do such a thing. You really had to get immersed into it to just find places... morrowind set the bar for so much... I still miss the magic system. But alas, I've been through over half a dozen morrowind dedicated Xboxs and I'm not a PC guy so my cliff racer slaying days are over... I'll be chilling with jiub in my giant mushroom tower city. Oh yeah did you know you can grow a mushroom tower in morrowind? You can build a city around it too, and you can literally pile gold pieces individually into a pile and throw some enchanted equipment on it and fill the antechamber of your mushroom tower, turning into a unique money vault, like scrooge mcduck. No game since has ever come close to shit you can pull in morrowind.

Alot of people hated having to read but alot of the lore that older players know about elder scrolls is because we had to read all those articles and notes! It was truely a second life in it's time. Iv played the first 2 elder scrolls as well. The second one was a bit confusing to play but it also required alot of strategy and just basic knowledge to find your way.

That's what I think the "Sky Babies" BS and MW Simps keep forgetting, on both sides of the aisle.
      Let me give a comparison.
There are four "Shrek" movies. The third is widely considered the worst, and the second the best. I personally loved the third one more than the first and the fourth, but the second was my favorite.
      -but here's the thing.
There is no such thing as a bad "Shrek" movie. Every movie is above par from the average and is a high quality production. Fans of the series are so spoiled and exposed to such quality content that their idea of "bad" is gruesomely warped.
The same goes here. Bethesda has put out a series of games so good that even the "worst" of them is still a fantastic game. "Morrowind" fans bashing "Skyrim" forget that they are so spoiled by Bethesda that their idea of a "bad game" is still, compared to other games, a fantastic piece of work.

I think the absence of Quest Markers was one of "Morrowind's" worst features, but in my opinion, it does not in any way detract from what is and continues to be the most immersive game I have ever played. I never played any other ES game before I tried "Morrowind" this very year, and I am having the absolute time of my life.
My favorite part is all of the READING. I slurp up every single point of dialog and have read every book I have opened. I cannot remember a more immersive game, and the best part is that this dedication to immersion has continued in every ES game succeeding "Morrowind".

If you don't want to look at the map or have an on-screen compass, then you can make it so that neither of them are toggled/utilized. Funny that Morrowind was considered back in 2002 ahead of its time. Compared to today of course it looks like a GIF almost. One thing it still has though that other titles never did, its still considered the best story driven and best RPG. Oblivion and Skyrim were to much hack-n-slash. Morrowind actually expected to roleplay your character otherwise the game would get very tedious after awhile.

If you are looking for a good guide for beginners in Morrowind This one is a good one. Is called Hitchhiker's guide to Morrowind. It has a lot of good information but she doesn't bore you with a lot of math when she explains things. Honestly one of the best Morrowind guides I have ever seen. ruclips.net/video/Kr225HWLWcs/видео.html .
As far as the fatigue thing. Is good to remember that in Morrowind fatigue effects almost everything. Even things you wouldn't think would be. Sometimes a restore fatigue potion is just as important as a healing potion is. It isn't like Skyrim or even Oblivion where you can just ignore it. Would also recommend that new players stick to their class when it comes to weapons. That free dagger is a trap if your character isn't built for short blade. The starter village has free weapons of various types laying around for the taking or if you return the ring to Fargoth the shop in town will give you a good discount on the weapons and armor of your choice. So if your character isn't built for a weapon type don't use that weapon type unless you have paid a trainer and learned how to use it. While I am talking about Trainers, unlike Skyrim in Morrowind you are not limited on training a certain amount per level. So providing you wanted to invest the gold into it. There is no reason in theory you couldn't master every weapon or skill in the game even if the initial character isn't built for it.

Yknow I'm a Skyrim zoomer it was my first Elder Scrolls game and I absolutely LOVED Morrowind, my first play through I only used the mod to play at modern resolutions, I installed more things on the next ones, tried Oblivion as well, didn't like it like Morrowind or Skyrim

Game stutters in 5fps if you turn off the music. You need to turn it to 1% if you don't want to hear it. It turns off video hardware acceleration or something along with the music. That is with steam version at least.
