Transcriptions of music for another instrument than the one originally indicated have a long and honorable history. I have myself transcribed many violin and other pieces for flute, for my own use. This transcription gives flute players an opportunity to experience Dvorak in a way that the great composer himself did not otherwise provide. The music performance police are off duty. If you can play it on your instrument, play it.
Agree . Transcriptions can even add a new dimension to a piece of music. I like this transcription not the least because it is not “screamy” like it is in the higher octave. Whose / which transcription is this? Anybody knows?
You copy and paste the same comment everywhere. LOL
The best performance of Dvorak's Sonatina on the flute I heard until now.
Wonderful sparkling performance from these two masters. Forget about transcriptions, in Julian Beaudiment’s hands it sounds as though it were written for the flute. If only Dvorak had written more for the flute - the famous flute passage in Sym. 8 suggests he could have written a marvellous flute concerto, alas the flute was not particularly favoured at that time.
Wow, tht's beautiful!
Yes it's unfortunate that there was not more prolific music written for the flute as a solo instrument from the romantic period onwards but it did have some beautiful solo passages within the orchestra by such as revell.
Sounds beautiful, but odd how high he lifts his fingers.
Allegro Risoluto 0:10
Larghetto 4:10
Scherzo 9:10
Finale 12:10
larghetto at 4:40
Almost There. the best I've heard so far Its not easy on the flute. Maybe Not possible. But I wish I could play it that well

best performance of this 💕
Cho-quée!Trop beau....Bonne continuation Mr Beaudiment
Very nice. I like the transcription in the higher register better.. I believe its Sir Galways.
Un je t'aime bis pour bien commencer la journée !
💔💖😭😇🎶
Would have been nice to see all movements played up the octave at times, while his lower register is great, I'd love to hear more of the higher register as it was written (at least in the version that I played). Especially the final movement.
Dennis M wo ist diese Kirche?
You are referring to the arrangement of Galway. He plays what is written in the original violin version
