    When sighting a scope, if you are not on the paper, move closer to the target to see what direction to adjust the scope for roughing it in. Then move back to the distance you want for fine adjustment.

    If you watch your group progressions you will notice the first shot was always the furthest out shot in tour groups. This was probably due to the new rounds clearing out the previous rounds lubrication. Each ammo uses a different lube or no lube/copper wash. Next time fire 2 rounds of the new ammo to “settle” the bore condition before grouping. Remember, when hunting the first shot is the most important. Nice video, thanks!

    Marlin 60 is a great lil rifle as long as you keep it clean...My first .22 rifle was that rifle with tiger maple pretty lilthang...i still shoot an hunt squirrels with it..I shoot Hornady .22 with her an never had any issues compared to the CC I's they wont hold a good group cause they are so damn hot...I have a crazy ass Redfield scope on her a little over kill but fun to shoot with a 3×9×40..I swapped it off my Remington .308 lol...I can pluck a tick ofd a dogs ass at 100yrd all day an have a decent group. My friends say im nutz an crazy cause of it...but at the end of the day I have the most squirrels..

    my first gun was the model 60, bought it from Kmart in 1990 and it has the 18rd tube but also has the 22" barrel(measured from the breech face, not where it comes out of the receiver) and out of the box it is a tack driver inside 75yds. and aside from a couple dud rounds and sub sonic round like Eley's, i've never had a malfunction and it will accurately shoot anything you feed it. and for those that don't know, the trigger and recoil buffer are made out of plastic and prone to fail after a while, M*CARBO and Midwest Gun Works are your best bet for replacement parts. and since Marlin is owned by Ruger now, the model 60 is permanently out of production, they don't make parts for it nor do they offer gunsmithing services for them, and all warranties are void.

  • @rosewoodramblinwreck9285

    Standard velocity 22lr ammo is subsonic. You dont need "subsonic" specific ammo.

    • @YonderOak
      @YonderOak  Год назад +1

      Yes, any ammo traveling 1,116.4 ft/s and under is subsonic.
      In this video, that includes the Subsonics and the Quiets.

    • @rosewoodramblinwreck9285
      @rosewoodramblinwreck9285 Год назад +1

      @YonderOak it does vary by current air density however.

    • @scottyjohnson3120
      @scottyjohnson3120 11 месяцев назад

      Subsonic ammo could cause the gun to jam because it might not have enough power to cycle the slide.

    Any personal experiences with the 22 stingers shot out of a 14 round model 60 ????....

    • @YonderOak
      @YonderOak  Год назад

      Yes. Pretty much the same result. The hyper velocity stuff just isn’t quite as accurate at a distance as subsonic rounds.
      And if you’re using Stingers, it’s best to use them with a clean rifle and not after you’ve been shooting regular 22LR.
      The case is just a bit longer on Stingers than regular 22LR and you may get cycling issues where the cartridge won’t seat entirely due to the chamber being dirty past where the normal case length ends, like what you see in this video.

    Next time you can't get your Wrangler to shoot higher , gently cut down the top of the front sight with a file until it is shooting "point of aim" . Thats how its done on most old blackpowder pistols. If you dont want to modify your pistol , then find the poit on target for a center shot and learn to compensate .

  • @lylehutchins916

    Why are you shooting a righthand gun lefthanded? If you were to shoot right (correct) handed) you wouldn't have the NEED to adjust the sight.😁
