A truck driver, who's only goal is to win back his son's affection by way of a truck and arm wrestling tournament... I don't know anybody who wouldn't think his dad was awesome if he owned a truck / workout machine!

I love this movie..my dad was also a truck driver and brings back so many memories..he passed away january 3rd 2013..im missing him like crazy!
As a truck driver myself I pride myself in my love for the road but got love for family too.. Only kids of truck drivers will know what kind of white line fever we get and understand us... Your father is now resting and left this world knowing you are his torch carrier and will do him proud.
My dad was a truck driver too, I got loads of memories with this movie..

I agree, this is one of my all-time favorites! People are surprised that it's so good. Everyone forgets that he's in this - they remember Bill Hurley though! The turning of the cap a his "switch" is epic!

One of my favorite movies but to me it means a lot because my dad's a truck driver and I was on a trip with him when he was driving truck the first time I seen this as a kid

:'( I love this movie and never will get tired of watching it...I would sit next to my dad and watch it togeather when I was a little girl. now at 30 yes old I watch it alone I. my bedroom hoping my dad watches it with me from heaven. he died of multiple myeloma Oct 26 2012 the day after his bday in his hospice bed. he was always a big fan of Sylvester Stallone and I grew up watching his movies with my dad. but this movie always touched my heart and now it brings tears to my eyes because I can't watch it with my father! cherish and love your loved ones as much as u can because one day they will not be there anymore.

Guilty pleasure for sure. My dad is a truck driver so it's kind of funny, plus I used to arm wrestle him all the time when I was a kid. lol
Also kind of funny, my father rocked the Kenny Loggins look in the 80's, and now in my 30's, I ended up looking like Stallone, except I'm about 8 inches taller than Sly lol.
Regardless, this film is a got dam CLASSIC!

I love the guitar version of this song. It just sounds absolutely amazing. The drum intro adds so much to the song. As a composer, Giorgio Moroder has produced another amazing “Rock” masterpiece. This is absolutely brilliant of Giorgio Moroder. I wish this version of the song were included on the soundtrack as well.

I watched this incredible movie at the age of 16. My granddad who was like a father to me, died at that time. I couldn't forget him. I lived with his memories. Now I'm turning almost to 25. This movie made me cry back then and still makes me cry and makes me remind of him. Grandpa we'll meet up there someday, at the paradise, I hope

i was moved by this movie..
This is a great way to show the world what a father's love is for his son and a son's love for his father. A very great movie about going through life, it's not about the destination, it's about the journey of going through life.
This also show how bratty and a cry baby the gayish reserve military boy was.

The one thing I remember about this movie is this soundtrack Lol but its a great chessy 80's movie and beats out the movies of today by a mile long in my opinion .

Here have a laugh instead of feeling bad. When i was seven he took me on the road as usual, and two days into a three week trip he ran over a puppy that was impossible to avoid. His tough tomboy suddenly turned into a soft girl. He spent the rest of the trip locked in a closet sized truck with a sulking girl. lol He never lost his cool though. Poor guy deserved a medal by the end of that three weeks. lmao Needless to say he did not take me with him again that summer. lol

@nidza007nk the thing about this movie.......is that i saw it when i was very young or perhaps i was the age of that kid of the movie....but i started then again waching it when i grow up and i loved it.......when im fealling down depressed and i see this movie tears come to my eyes.....cause i remeber when i was a kid very young...and back them i realy had peopel that loved me a lot in those years.....its very sad sometimes but you have to keep moving on in life.....
Love this song, but this movie was the biggest corn-filled turd ever made. I remember seeing this at the movies when it came out back in the day and thought it was a cheese-fest back then...LOL! I'd much rather look at old pix of Kenny Loggins with that mountain-man beard and Jesus hair he used to sport. I was sooooo in love with him back then.....ah the days of innocence. :-)
Yeah, it's called" Bad Nite". It is on the original soundtrack. It's easy to find the whole soundtrack to download. The scene where it plays is when they were walking into the bar in beginning of the movie and Sly fights arm wrestling for the first time in the movie.

I could see how people would think that this movie is corny but I love it. Maybe it's because I saw it when I was younger and it has sentimental value or whatever haha. Damn I'm getting old. Anyways, u have to admit the song goes perfect with the movie tho. Peace.
@cgc Rocky IV, Tango & Cash, and the Rambo films are my favorite Stallone movies. Cobra is just awful, but like you I watch it when it comes on. Call it 80's nostalgia. I'm 37 now, grew up in the 80's, so I appreciate most of the corny crap from that era.

What a horrible movie, laughable, and not in a good way. I'm a Stallone fan, but this film was a mistake. This role should have gone to his brother Frank. If you like the movie, fine, but don't attack me for my opinion. That is all. :)

@superbad1982 I don't think that's ever said. He does however say "He's stayin' with me! You Tell him that!" at least twice and the PA at the arm wrestling competition says "This is a double elimination event" at least 43 times
This film single-handedly inspired a lot of truck drivers to install weight lifts in their trucks and compete in arm wrestling tournaments during their stops.
@Airforce62397 the thing is that that boy had to look like a littel boy or girl.cause he was from a rich family..and silvester had to make him a man an no the real world...,,its a hard place
it's actually the perfect combo of Over the Top and Rocky. just watched it last night and couldn't help but see the obvious parallels...right down to the SUPER annoying child actor! ha!
