      Shaudae's World: Til you break off the door panel pin mounts then you're screwed. Gluing them back on doesn't work so well. I just left mine off and put back in the screws to hold the panels on. If your lucky they'll pop right out. Unfortunately mine didn't. They all broke off

    I have 02 L200 and speakers are 5.25", tried a 6" and was too big, I cut off mounting plate from old speakers and attached replacement to that ,which made life easy

    Thank you, this was helpful. The car here is an LW200 and it has an extra trim piece above the front of the door panel that Crutchfield calls a "sail", and that has to come off to reveal a screw that holds the top of the upper door panel in place, but other than that it's all very similar.

      Another comment: Be sure to orient your new speaker so that its terminals are unlikely to short against the metal door frame. This was an issue in my gf's LW200.

    Hi , i have satrun L300 2004 sedan model, and i am surprised that there is a Twitter grill in the rear door, but inside is no Twitter, no wiring, only speaker. Anyone know why is that ? Thanks

    Front was easy. The rear doors are more of a pain to do. The hole is big enough for the same size speakers as the front.

    It’s weird I got 6.5 speakers for my L200 but they wouldn’t fit so I had to just get 5.5 my window kept hitting the speaker so I didn’t really know what to do

    For some reason, aftermarket decks lack bass vs. the factory decks in these. That's pretty much normal for about any GM product, except the small older compact's. Speakers also included in the bass issue. I haven't figured out why, because there's no amp in these models. The decks are Panasonic's and have no loudness control to increase bass response. I've even looked this up for specs on the decks and find nothing. I removed the aftermarket system that was in mine and got all factory from the yard and what a difference. I luckily found some good 6.5 factory speakers too.

      +Chas S Yeah, finding the good factory 6.5 speakers is the hard part... they really take a beating over the years.

    I’m curious if anybody used a speaker wiring harness and if so which one worked from them? Crutchfield and Amazon are showing different Metra speaker Harness models for this car.

    • @jamiehanrahan4705
      @jamiehanrahan4705 5 лет назад

      The Metra "harnesses" just go between the connector at the end of the factory wires and the new speaker's spade terminals. In the LW200 I did those factory connectors were old and the plugs on the Metra "harnesses" would not make good contact with them. So I cut off the factory connectors and just spliced to the resulting ends to reach the new speakers with spade connectors.

    its 6.5 on the front and 5.25 on the back

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll

    I have a 03' Saturn l200, and EVERY speaker is not working except one the driver door. It has a subwoofer mounted in the trunk, it sounds real crappy, and randomly kicks on, it doesn't work 99 % of the time, I wonder if all the speakers are blown, or the factory amp(ln trunk), is messed up. Any ideas?

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  7 лет назад +1

      +Ray OP so, I would start with the speakers before tearing out the amp. If you have any known good speakers laying around, you could take a part the door and test it. That is where I would start.

    I'm looking at putting new speakers in my L200 sometime soon, I looked up the speakers shown in the video and they're listed as 6.5", when the L series take 5.25" in the rears. Looks like the 6.5's fit without problems?

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  8 лет назад

      +1972FordF150 Yeah, the 6.5 fit perfect. Would really recommend going with that size as the 5.25 would have less to butt up against on the door when trying to screw them in.

    • @MattsRageFitGarage
      @MattsRageFitGarage 8 лет назад

      Thanks for verifying they fit, did you use the same for the fronts too? from what it looks like I'm just going to order the ones you showed in the video lol best deal I've seen so far.

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  8 лет назад

      Yep! I used the same size in the front. For the price, they are great quality. My 18 year old sister is very happy with the sound quality :)

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  8 лет назад +1

      Hey Megan, I personally don't have a video for this, but I assume you will want to take them out from inside the car by removing the read deck cover to expose the speakers. Then unbolt each speaker and replace like I did mine. Good luck!!!

  • @Marcos-yf6yd
    @Marcos-yf6yd 7 лет назад

    Did you use a 1" in spacer up front seems most people say its needed due to the window now rolling down or will the 6.5" bolt up just like vid

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  7 лет назад

      +Marcos Leon I didn't have that issue, but a spacer may be a good idea.

    • @crashduhmy
      @crashduhmy 6 лет назад

      I'm having the same issue with a pair of 6.5" in the front. The back of the speaker hits the window when it's down or vice versa. So please people check your speaker depth when installing in the front or you might have a broken window when you roll it down for the first time after your install. My vehicle is an '01 L300.

  • @johnnybarrett5799

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  8 лет назад +1

      Hey, I put 6.5" speakers in both front and rear. They fit great and would highly recommend them as I had more door to screw into when mounting the speakers.

    Question..i have a 03 L200... the factory speaker that came with the car had a weird adapter clip..i cut the adapter off, thinking it'd be a simple crimp, but now no sound is coming out. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  6 лет назад +1

      Hey Chris, maybe the wires are backwards? If you think that they are correct, reconnect back up the stock speaker to verify you are getting sounds still. Hope that helps!

    • @chriscarter2519
      @chriscarter2519 6 лет назад

      Chad Williams thanks for the reply! Well in the 2003, front left speaker, there are two wires: grey and red. I figured the red would be the positive lead, but no sound. I then reversed the connections and still nothing.. on the Kenwood 1665R speakers, there's one big prong and one little one, so no place for error there

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  6 лет назад

      That is strange! Try to reconnect the stock speaker to see if that works still.

    • @anarchosprime
      @anarchosprime 3 года назад +2

      I also had no sound coming out... I had a weird adapter clip as well... turns out that that clip sat on the raised/curved screw/bolt hole looking thing at the bottom of the spot where the speaker goes (see the video) and helped ground the speaker. I used a simple speaker wire and spliced it into the ground and then connected it against that and not only did it give me sound, but it also stopped the weird static from my front speakers (my new back speakers came in, but the front ones won't be here until after the holidays).

    Hey Chad, would you replace or remove a blown tweeter(s) in a 2003 saturn l200? I have already replaced the door speakers with some nice kenwood 3 way 6.5 inch speakers.

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  7 лет назад +3

      Hey Aaron, if I had a blown tweeter, I would probably just remove since you installed 3 way speakers. I personally am not a big fan of the 'highs' right in my face that the tweeters usually do anyways

    • @nitrostriker710
      @nitrostriker710 7 лет назад

      Chad Williams thanks for the quick response, I will end up doing that. I have a similar question. I have 3 way speakers for the rear doors, will I be able to fit the 6.5inch 3 way speakers into the rear door if the door (from Crutchfield), size is 5 and 1/4 inches. I have this exact make model and year in this video.

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  7 лет назад +2

      I did 6.5" speakers in all doors. I know that some websites say to do the 5.25", but I found the 6.5" fit no problem.

    What is the gadge on the butt connectors your using

  • @timlarrick196
    @timlarrick196 5 лет назад

    This car uses component speakers. The use of any coaxial speakers will have no bass and sound horrible.
