- Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers is a kart racing video game originally based on the 3D Sonic the Hedgehog fangame Sonic Robo Blast 2, itself based on a modified version of Doom Legacy, created by Kart Krew Dev.

The game here builds upon the successes of its predecessor SRB2Kart, with features including:
• A ludicrously long list of courses and playable characters.
• A complete Grand Prix mode with CPU opponents and multiple difficulty levels.
• New and revamped items.
• Unique game systems and mechanics.
• Local split-screen multiplayer up to 4 players, and online play up to 16.
• A comprehensive Time Attack mode with replay support.
• A wealth of secrets to find.

v2.1 is a minor patch that clean up some of the most pervasive launch issues. Still have plenty on the to-do list. Few notables:
Tutorial
• You can now exit to the full game after completing the "Rings", "Brakes", or "Drifting" instead of just at "Springs".
• The "Tutorial Challenge" trial race is now available in every Tutorial stage, instead of only at the start, and is more clearly marked.
• The "Tutorial Challenge" will now use the character selected in your profile, rather than the character you entered the stage with.
• Dramatically reduced CPU difficulty during the "Tutorial Challenge" trial race.
Unlocks
• Playing Online can now also unlock when winning the "Tutorial Challenge" trial race.
• Playing with Addons now unlocks at the same time as Playing Online.
• Time Attack now unlocks after completing your first race, or when winning the "Tutorial Challenge" trial race (previously was a late-game unlock).
• Prison Break now unlocks after completing your first Bonus Stage (was 4).
• Chao Keys are given every 5 matches (from 14), and you now start a save file with 10 (from 3). Existing save files will be granted 7 Chao Keys accordingly.
Profiles, Gameplay, Fixes, Online Mode, and Modding are all mentioned on the update log.

Came across 2 copyright claims from 2 different tracks. The first one was from Withering Chateau Zone, as the soundtrack playing there is originally from a Japanese record label. The second one is from Gust Planet Zone, specifically known as Alex Lee "Take It."

Just making public note about this being on Easy given the 50+ second time limit in bonus stages (Vs. the 20 second limit on Normal, and 10 on Hard+), along with the general slowness done on courses/the lack of AI cheating to catch up/No sealed star races even with 8+ lives. But for sure shows that if you're just trying to play/have fun with the game, Easy is a great way to ebb into it and JUST focus on controlling/drifting and getting into using Rings bit by bit.
Definitely recommended for new players to start on Easy for all the reasons you listed. Even on Normal, you really need to know when to hold onto rings and when to use them, when to stomp after jumps, etc.
It's crazy because way mode isn't even easy. And normal is hard

You know, for a game called Ring Racers, you can't hold many rings during a race. It is more than Mario Kart, at least.
Why is that?

this is a very silly nitpick
The Ring Racer can only store 20 rings in reserve. Well, more like 40 when you add in the Ring Debt mechanic.
you can increase your speed and acceleration drastically with ring pickups (not single rings) if you're at max, this is very important to winning races. and if you're racing the entire time with max rings and not spending them you're not playing right.
I do wish they upped the limit on rings you can hold especially cause some of the ring item jackpots give more than 20

...and you are, because you need to push for a higher difficulty.
That way, you can see that which had been Sealed away in the Stars...
Of that roster, there's one final character you can unlock, but the game isn't exactly obvious about how you go about doing it.
Also, if you press whatever key you have assigned to drifting, you can view info about your selected character's position on the chart, alongside the names of the companions you can have tagging along.
How to get the companion and do they anything?.
@@erugurara8235 There's different means to getting the companions. A password added to the game's patch can get you them sooner, but I won't say it here. You can find it and all other passwords in a txt file bundled with the game.
While the companions themselves mainly hover alongside your character, they're useful for warning you when rivals and items are approaching your radius. One of them, the Mystic Melody, is also key to uncovering a few more secrets.
