Smart concern about fillers and lymphatics. people are injecting fillers everywhere now, so now it is an increased rise in problems. also people using filler on jaw or near lymphatic areas like neck, center and high axillary regions of breast. As a mammographer I highy recommend leaving fat injections ( and if possible implants) out of your breasts.

@@CarolFA1111If you zoom out, you will find that despair leads to drugs, which leads to homelessness. What is causing so much despair is fifty years of GOP policies that have opened the door to Wall Street taking over corporate America, which has led to globalization and massive income inequality. Absolutely great interview! The scares caused by radiesse was an eye opening too. - Does NIRA laser count as "energy treatment"? - Would it be possible to know more about technique that Dr. Truesdale is using so that we know what to look for when choosing a plastic surgeon (for those who will decide to take this step but can afford only local surgeons)? Basically to educate ourselves using the best examples. He mentioned that he is combining different treatments (ie: fat transfer) with the facelift. But there are different techniques for fat transfers and face lifts too. - I love your white blouse that you are wearing at the end of this video. It suits you very well - very fresh and young look. Could you please share name of the brand? - Your videos are helping me so much to age as well as I can.
Great to hear you find my content helpful! Laser works more superficially on the skin so isn’t classed alongside the energy treatments. I use it on my skin. The top is from Frame. I love it too but it’s not current season I’m afraid. Think I bought it on The Outnet. Thanks so much for watching and supporting!!
Very good interview. good questions. Thanks a million Claire. Was a photographer and many friends faces have distorted with filler, that I wouldn't be interested to photograph them. I had one energy treatment Ulthera I think it was, it melted fat. Never again. I don't even use retinol anymore it thinned my skin using it longterm, and made wrinkles stand out. Glycolic acid works better, facial massage and red light therapy. I use ZIIP but still sceptical about it's effectiveness, maybe temporarily. Only natural ways for me now, I'm not game to risk anything. Seawater is a great environment for the skin, that's my future plan!
Tretinoin ( 0.045%, 0.05%)works to stimulate the collagen production and thikens the skin. But ZIIP( microcurent leads to fat loss). I love red light therapy, I got a tabletop panel ( higher than 140 irradiance ,compared to Omnilux mask less than 30 irradiance, which I had before ).
@@algernon2005 For some reason my skin did not thicken, it became thinner. Especially around my eyes. Had better luck with Glycholic acid and castor oil for thicker skin. Did you try ZIIP to come to that conclusion? But I agree. Red Light therapy is great. Has cured many things,.
He is amazing he has angel hands. God gave him a gift. God bless you always for all the beautiful job you’ve done to all those people who make them happy.
Good hydration, antioxidants, acids and Tretinoin, SPF is my gold standard. Facial massage, sometimes. No fillers, botox etc. I am a woman, I am 57 years old.
This!! Simple routine that’s well proven and without side effects/risks or lots of time/effort. Oh, and facial exercise I think is worth trying as well. 🎉
I’ve seen his work as a surgeon and have seen others as well. You are the most talented and knowledgeable surgeon I’ve seen. I can imagine how much it will cost knowing you’re in Beverly it must be high. Let me see if I hit the lottery 😝 and I can come see you before 65. If you want to do it free of cost for your show lll be there asap. Love your work ❤
Did you mean to say that you're a surgeon who's seen his work? Or, you've seen HIS surgery work? Which I think is the latter, but I ask this because less than four weeks from now Truesdale is working on me, deep plane face/neck/brow lift, CO2 peel, fat transfer and lips, so if you, as a surgeon are saying that he's the most talented and knowledgeable surgeon, that gives all the more trust in him.
I actually avoid a lot of energy treatments for exactly this reason, but I was confused as to whether these treatments inflict damage under the skin and that's just inherently bad, or these treatments inflict damage under the skin and that makes it harder to get a facelift later on. I'm not sure any of us "want" damage regardless, but some might not care if it produces results and they have no intention of getting a facelift.
It’s a good question. He was definitely making the point that it makes skin harder to work with in plastic surgery, but also said it’s what delivers the tightening result for those treatments. Hard to know if there is a further downside without clinical trials. What I do find interesting/concerning is that when these energy treatments are being promoted they talk about skin tightening and collagen production but they don’t make clear that it will create lasting scar tissue.
@@Adhara740 I can’t speak for Dr Truesdale but I can say microneedling works fairly superficially in the skin so is not going to create the kind of issues he’s seeing with energy treatments
I asked which treatments he has seen damage as a result of and he lists them. Red light therapy is less targeted and way less intensive than the energy treatments so hasn’t been associated with these issues.
It wouldn’t be counted as an energy treatment in this context as we’re talking about more powerful clinical treatments. I’ve done a couple of videos re how not to overdo red light which might be worth checking out
I have old filler migration on one cheek and it has caused a small lump. My surgeon has dissolved twice now and it won’t go away. She now wants to try the new Profound Matrix over it to see if we can get it to flatten out some. Thoughts?
Sorry to hear you've had this problem. I'm afraid I don't have any experience with Profound Matrix to be able to share any insight but I do hope you find a good solution.
I wish he had specified what part of Ghana he went to. Probably somewhere rural. Yes there are challenges but the way he narrates his visit to Ghana perpetuates the Western narrative that Africa is so medically backward. Africans get all manner of surgical procedures done within the continent by African trained Doctors. Let’s not forget the first heart transplant was done in Africa.
Hi. Another great video, so informative. And I've followed Dr Truesdale for a while. I just wish you could have addressed more on "what to do" if you used things that have damaging affects. Like Ultherapy. I already knew that my crepe neck skin was due to the 3 Ultherapy treatments I've had done. But unfortunately didn't find out till yrs ltr that it melted my fat in my neck, leaving it loose ( I've always been 112 my whole life since high school...not fat ever). But besides a neck lift I guess there's not a lot of help. I'm even afraid of other heating devices, like rf frequency or even red light therapy because even though it's "supposed to" injure thereby stimulating collagen, it too can potentially melt fat and skin cells. We just don't know for sure until it's sometimes too late down the road. Also, I wish he would have addressed what to do if lymph nodes are blocked from fat transfer (had that done too in cheeks, worse mistake evvveerr) or too much fillers. I guess just lymphatic drainage face massage? And, i've known for a long time that retinols are not actually good for your skin. That's why you see young skin and it looks almost translucent and glows but older skin on retinol makes it look flat, not vibrant...almost like burn victim skin.
Thanks so much for watching and I'm really sorry to hear about your difficult experience. I took a look on the channel recently about what can realistically help loose skin around the neck. Not sure if you spotted it so I'll link it here. ruclips.net/video/TFfjfAK1SF4/видео.htmlsi=vNCzuSYtRKY0wjMG Plastic surgeons would usually recommend a neck lift if there is significant laxity there. You can have HA filler dissolved if an area is overfilled. For fat transfer overfilling he mentioned liposuction but only by a skilled surgeon.
Are you still using the adipeau cream? He recently increased the size of the tube and its lasts way longer for the same price. I’d say for me over two months. So glad he did that because it’s so much more cost effective. I have been using it since it came out and my skin looks great. I am in my late 30s and it’s really kept my fat in place. I stopped retinoid unless I get a breakout I’ll use it for maybe a week.
I noticed that they'd changed the packaging so that was good to see. I stopped using it after my six-month trial as I felt I'd got the best out of it at that point. So glad to hear you're seeing results with the cream.
@@AhFeiLee I bought Adipeau to try after I first interviewed him and the shared my final thoughts in my 6-month review. It’s a fat boosting treatment rather than a daily moisturizer. I didn’t see any need to use it long term
Laser targets the superficial layers of the skin whereas the energy treatments he discussed heat the deeper layers which is where he's seeing the scarring.
@@thehonestchannel Every time I have Pico laser (755 length) to treat my hyperpigmentation, my face feels very hot (the therapist has to put a cold mask on my face to cool it down) - that's why I thought Pico laser also heat the deeper layer of the skin. I guess I was wrong - I'm glad! I really think you should have much more subs.
Thank you so much, That was Amazing and so educational. There was something you said that really caught my attention. I've been using Tretoin for about 4 years but, I have been considering other modalities. So when you mentioned there could be real problems with the continued use of prescription retinol, I felt this was just in time for me. The Doctor didn't have too much to say about it. I don't know how I missed that gut health and skin episode. I try never to miss any of your videos. Can you share what you are doing about the retinol dilemma?
So glad you enjoyed the interview. I stopped using tretinoin about 18 months ago - not because I think there's anything terribly wrong with it, in fact I think it can work wonders in many circumstances, but I do question whether it's a great idea to use it daily for decades. I don't know the answer yet, so I always ask doctors for their opinion. I think personally, a good compromise for long-term use is just to use it two to three times a week which is what I do. I've switched to a high strength retinal which is less harsh on my skin but I think still gives really good results.
Clare, thanks for all of your great podcasts!!! Your blouse is so beautiful - - please tell me about it and where it can be bought. Thanks, Jo in Flagstaff, AZ
Thank you so much Jo in beautiful Arizona! I actually bought the green blouse on sale when I was in LA. It’s Zadig & Voltaire and I always love a bargain if they have a sale on. They do these blouses in a range of colors and I love them. The white short sleeve blouse at the end is by Frame but is not current season.
I have altogether stopped with all the “ungentle” facial skin treatments. This includes all retinol forms, peels, acids, scrubs, use of my Tria laser, tried and returned the Nira (OOOuch), my Ziip (which I should have returned because it freaked me out from day one so I rarely used). Interestingly, everything I use now I learned about on your channel: Oneskin, Maysama red light panel (with their recommended prep serum), just added Bluelene. I will eventually try Adipeau. All due to your interviews. 🙂↕️😌
We can definitely overdo it with skincare. I use the Nira a few times a week and find the Ziip pretty easy going but red light is the big favorite. Really hope OneSkin and Bluelene are a good fit for you!
@@AhFeiLee It was just the idea that I was applying energy to my skin and potentially the fat containing sub layer in a way that has, in my opinion, not been adequately explained from a scientific standpoint. Actually, it hasn’t been explained at all that I can find. Unlike red light therapy, which has a lot of scientific data from many studies, I haven’t seen anything about the short or long term effects of repeatedly applying the two types of energy supplied by the Ziip to our face. The founder looks fine but I didn’t think her “results” tell us anything about its aesthetic benefits. She looks her age (not a problem!) and is overall slender but her facial thinness makes facial fat loss a question. Plus I kept waiting for it to zap me if I lingered too long in one spot or didn’t have enough gel in one area. The potential for it making my face muscles contract was too much like a TENS unit. I used it for a while in the beginning but never see any results other than a temporary flushing. It wasn’t worth the unknowns for me.

Thanks Claire! i understand why he is successful. I was wondering, did you discuss microcurrent and nanocurrent and potential impacts at all? I assume that one should perhaps be a bit careful with RF home devices too as they also use heat? Really appreciate your content!
Appreciate your support! I just asked him which of the treatments he'd observed damage from and he didn't raise microcurrent. Microcurrent treatments, particularly the home ones, would come nowhere close to the energy levels from ultrasound and RF.
@@thehonestchannel Claire, there is a device called "The Time Master Pro" that is an at home Ultrasound device that I would love to see you look into & find out what several professionals opinions are on the effectiveness, as well as long term use, safety etc. I have commented several times about it in the past, but maybe you never saw my comment, or felt it wasn't worthy of looking into? I feel like for the vast majority of people, plastic surgeries are just completely out of the financial reach, and we're lucky enough to be able to save up for some at home devices that will give us as best results as possible. That's why I hope that you will look into "The Time Master Pro!" Thanks, Claire! I love your channel!
I had microneedlong done on the bridge of my nose for a horizontal wrinkle. It did absolutely nothing, total waste of time and money. Now they are recommending botox, which I will not do.
It definitely was an eye-opener. Microneedling is working more superficially in the skin so wouldn't be a concern for the kind of deeper scarring issues Dr Truesdale discussed.
He's got a great perspective on the much touted idea of "aging gracefully." So many holier-than-thou preachers telling us to accept decay, but how can one age gracefully by "sucking it up"?
I agree. I use the term ‘anti-aging’ freely despite the movement against it because I think there are elements of aging we should actively resist - with muscle loss being at the top of the list!
@AhFeiLee I've got a strong pain tolerance for me smooth threads hurt more, about a 5 out of 10. The downtime is nothing unless you hit a vein and if you do it's just bruising for a week or so. Pdo last about 6 months and pla last about a year.
He is very nice. I do think he isn't going to strongly recommend alternative treatments when he thinks everyone should get " a lift" at some point. I am 53. The biggest jump in anti-aging I got was from filler I got at age 51, some in my cheeks and some in my jowl area. Initially I was over plumped looking but it settled down within 6 months and it took years off my appearance. Haven't gotten any more since then. Also I used botox for years- just recently took a year off but will probably get some baby botox again soon here.
Same here. I used fillers on my cheeks at 46, I’m 49, it might be still there. I’m Asian so it’s hard to tell. I had my lips filled, after I had a lip lift, I don’t need to fill my lips anymore. I used .3 ml on my under eyes a month ago. and marionette lines 4 years ago. Will never do my jaw because I have a face shape like Zoey Kravitz, I actually used botox on my masseter muscles for I grind my teeth. It’s like a square but very shape because my chin is a shaped. I had a PET LIFT in Miami, pull your face up, should last 3 years. And I’ve done threads which I hate because they don’t last. Now, I only do botox on forehead, crows feet and under eyes.
i got something called thermi tight and micro lipo in the neck and got permanent sensory nerve damage and I can see the scarring it caused. Im going to get a neck lift now.
Claire, I had two ultherapy sessions last year and now I am worried that my skin had been damaged. Would Adipeau help actually putting some fat back (my face does not look damaged but there is definitely quite some loss of collagen).
I did think the Adipeau cream helped replace a little volume in my cheeks which I lost after my Ultherapy treatment. It has its skeptics but I’ve had so many viewers say it helped them that there is definitely something to it. I also think it works best on people who have experienced sudden fat loss due to energy treatments or diet - that’s based on the feedback. Take a before picture to check progress.

It's curious that he spent part of his residency in Ghana and then became a plastic surgeon in one of the most exclusive zip codes in the US. Ghanaians don't spend their lives past a certain age, if they even reach it, being obsessed with looking young forever. That speaks volumes about the so-called modern world to me and our priorities. I hope to not fall into this hamster wheel so many other women my age are on, but societal pressure is a constant.

The middle class is hollowed out. The poor have fallen through the cracks to despair. The GOP trickle down economics only trickled up. We are no longer building homes, except for the wealthy, because that is the profit center. So these are the elites trying to lay the blame on the political party that fights for the average citizen.

@@thehonestchannel Thank you Clare!
Thanks Nicole. I agree red light and facial massage can be a really effective combination.
Was it the ultherapy that thinned your skin or the retinol?
@@staceyanderson8916 Both. Retinol after long term use over several years almost daily.

What a lovely man ! I don’t think i will ever have major facial procedures but if i did! 🇺🇸♥️🕊🙏🏻🇺🇸
@@thehonestchannelis microneedling ok?
exactly what I wondered
@@Adhara740 I can’t speak for Dr Truesdale but I can say microneedling works fairly superficially in the skin so is not going to create the kind of issues he’s seeing with energy treatments

I haven't watched the whole thing yet but I hope you asked him about Red Light Therapy too. I hope that doesn't damage the skin.
I asked which treatments he has seen damage as a result of and he lists them. Red light therapy is less targeted and way less intensive than the energy treatments so hasn’t been associated with these issues.
Absolutely loved this angel. ♥️♥️♥️♥️ thank you
🥰
Does red light therapy (red and infrared masks) count as "energy treatment"? Any side effect there?
It wouldn’t be counted as an energy treatment in this context as we’re talking about more powerful clinical treatments. I’ve done a couple of videos re how not to overdo red light which might be worth checking out

Thanks Judith! Hope you enjoy Dr T's new show 🥰
I like this doctor.
Hi. He mentioned it was Kath hospital which is in Kumasi.
Maybe keep the bio-stimulators for the hands only. This guy needs to train all surgeons worldwide!
Is that Sculptra, for example?
@@thehonestchannel Was that a 6-month free trial? Did it honestly work? If it does work, why quit?
@@AhFeiLee I bought Adipeau to try after I first interviewed him and the shared my final thoughts in my 6-month review. It’s a fat boosting treatment rather than a daily moisturizer. I didn’t see any need to use it long term
Great interview with very useful information. Now I wonder if laser treatments for hyperpigmentation also inflict damage under the skin???
FANTASTIC, that answers my concerns. Thank you so very much, you're Amazing!!!!

why did the Ziip freak you out? I was going to buy it but have decided not to.

What about micro needling? Does it damage?
I had microneedlong done on the bridge of my nose for a horizontal wrinkle. It did absolutely nothing, total waste of time and money. Now they are recommending botox, which I will not do.
Have you heard of Em-face ? Any thoughts about it please
Another great video. Love all your content and you are absolutely stunning.
Thank you!
That energy treatment side effect was a real eye-opener. Now, I'm hoping that regular microneedling is fine
It definitely was an eye-opener. Microneedling is working more superficially in the skin so wouldn't be a concern for the kind of deeper scarring issues Dr Truesdale discussed.
I wonder about Tixel...do you think it can cause long term damage?
He's got a great perspective on the much touted idea of "aging gracefully." So many holier-than-thou preachers telling us to accept decay, but how can one age gracefully by "sucking it up"?
I agree. I use the term ‘anti-aging’ freely despite the movement against it because I think there are elements of aging we should actively resist - with muscle loss being at the top of the list!
I do threads and love them! But i dont plan to do facelift
Does it hurt to do that? What is the downtime ? How long do they last.... Like to know more cuz thinking of trying it in the future
@AhFeiLee I've got a strong pain tolerance for me smooth threads hurt more, about a 5 out of 10. The downtime is nothing unless you hit a vein and if you do it's just bruising for a week or so. Pdo last about 6 months and pla last about a year.
@@mumshorts Thanks for getting back to me on this.
They don’t last. Hate them.
Research PET LIFT. I had that done and it’s a better result in terms of lifting.
@peacelove7437 it depends how old you are.. for me I'm 33 so it's OK but for someone in there 40s or 50s probably not good
He is very nice.
So sorry to hear this. 😔
Lovely man.

Referring to surgery there.
