Just got my GTI about a month ago and have been looking for the right exhaust for it. Been looking for a good video that shows it and this one actually shows me everything I wanted to see. Very good video!
I've had mine on my manual MK7 for a year and a half and it gets more balanced as time goes on. I'm in WI myself and it's sounds wicked angry below zero lol.
Overall how loud is it in person? Is it loud enough to wear you can listen to music and talk to someone as well as hear it or is it just super loud and obnoxious? I have a 2019 gti rabbit and I like the stock exhaust but I want something louder but not overly loud. Something where it sounds sexy, but I can still listen to my music and talk to my buddies.
Well this might be the perfect exhaust for you! While your just cruising it’s almost like stock maybe a little louder but it’s no where near obnoxious you can still talk and listen to music. Hope this helps!
I have the same car and had the same question 😅. I’ve been enjoying stock for a while but I want something a bit “deeper” now. I think I’m going to go with this.
This is the exhaust for you! I love it not too loud but when you step on it you get a nice deep exhaust note that never gets old. I highly recommend it!
I drive a 2020 VW GTI it’s the S model. And I just order mine in the mail from BMP tuning. My borla S type has the black tips on it tho for some reason. But in the chat that is what they sent me that to fit mine and also my CTS catted Downpipe.
@@TKWhips perfect man! I am so happy you said that. I was getting worried for a minute. This video really saved my phone call back to BMP tuning to double check haha.
Yes we have another video on our channel where we install a downpipe on my buddies gti and it fit right up to his catback exhaust. Make sure to like and subscribe for more videos!
Thank you! If it’s for a GTI it should allow you to choose your year specifically when you buy it. I’m not exactly sure what the difference is if there even is a difference between the mk7 exhaust and the mk7.5.
No it shouldn’t be hanging you don’t want it to get caught on anything. Your going to have to push up on it while someone tightens up all the clamps to the exhaust and it should stay up
With the new exhaust did you need to tune it? I’m looking into an exhaust but I don’t know if I’d have the money for a tune at the moment. I only ask because I’ve heard if you get an exhaust you need a tune to go with it. Thank you
For most cars a catback exhaust doesn’t require a tune. We didn’t tune this car and it’s running a cold air intake and catback exhaust just fine. Once you install a downpipe it’s recommended to get a tune.
Hey Driton you good bro ? Remember the dam in the village in Lipkovo i’m that guy who was hitting the bottle the most with stones when you visited us. You Aron your dad and i don’t remember your brother’s name. All the best bro!
Absolutely! Sounds awesome our gti is basically stock in this video all we did was add the exhaust. Later on we added a cold air intake we made a video on as well. But the exhaust sounds just like in the video, in my personal opinion I think it’s a perfect fit.
Yes I believe they are slightly cut at an angle. They fit really good they are a little bit bigger than stock so they fill in the empty space around the tip and it makes the rear look more aggressive.
@@TKWhips Cool im just trying to decide wether to get the rounded or cut tips. The cut are 200 more than the rounded when buying the exhust. But love the vid and car!!!
Yea we debated between those two but went with the Borla didn’t really feel like dealing with the valves and the Borla sounds really good and doesn’t drone.
I have to admit the old 8V and 16V naturally aspirated GTI engines sounded much better. Had an old 1985 GTI 8V with port polished heads, cam, and exhaust with modified air box with drop in K&N filter and believe it or not, it sounded much better than these turbo four bangers. Plus went on the VR6 engines had a 1997 Passat VR6 2001 GTI VR6 2004 R32. Wish I still had all of them 😪 Especially my R32

Thank you for the feedback!
You should look up catless downpipe with vibrant resonator and no muffler

Oh yea especially on a cold start it sounds really good.
Great video! You did a very nice job testing. This was very helpful thank you!
Thank you! The feedback is appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Off topic… I’m 6’5 and was thinking to test drive a gti mk7 tomorrow to see if I could fit inside.
Haha well I’m 6’3” and I fit pretty good they are pretty cozy interiors for their size.

Check out the tcr muffler

Yes some were optioned with black tips depends which one you chose. And it should all fit together nicely.

dude good job .....the sound is awesome.....by the way, do you think this will fit the 2017 MK7?
Thank you! If it’s for a GTI it should allow you to choose your year specifically when you buy it. I’m not exactly sure what the difference is if there even is a difference between the mk7 exhaust and the mk7.5.
FYI- the 2015-2017 is p/n 140750, the 2018-2021 is 140751, so they are different. Something to do w/the tips width/depth.
Ah ok thank you I knew there was a difference but didn’t know that was the why. Good to know!
Did your resonator hang a little after install? I just installed mine and it sits a little low
No it shouldn’t be hanging you don’t want it to get caught on anything. Your going to have to push up on it while someone tightens up all the clamps to the exhaust and it should stay up
Borla ftw 🙌👏😎

You're thinking of the down pipe
Can you send the link on where you got this? Sounds Amazing!
Ordered it off of MAPerformance website.
Impressive 😮
Was wondering if this car diesel or ⛽️ petrol?
It’s a 2.0L gas/petrol engine
That was great bro 👍🏾
Thanks make sure to like and subscribe!

I’m doing good! Thank you for asking hope your doing good as well. I’ll be back soon!
Is this the one who cost 800 something? Or no ?
I believe it’s closer to a thousand depends on if you have a mk7 or a mk7.5 I believe it is a bit different.
Is this with or without the resonator?
I believe it has a resonator it’s not a complete straight pipe
Got a 2018 gti s stock think it’ll sound good?
Absolutely! Sounds awesome our gti is basically stock in this video all we did was add the exhaust. Later on we added a cold air intake we made a video on as well. But the exhaust sounds just like in the video, in my personal opinion I think it’s a perfect fit.
What kind of tips are those?
4” chrome tips T-304 stainless steel. It came with the Borla Exhaust.
@@TKWhips Is it the angle cut or rounded. trying to see them on a car to decide which ones to get.

You’re looking at the Borla Type S as well?
Are the exhaust tips removable?
No they are not. I’m not sure about if you get the other exhaust tip options though.
How is the drone for daily driving?
Honestly not bad at all I barely hear it at any rpm surprisingly
@@TKWhips Thanks for the quick reply! I am debating between this and the XForce valve.
Yea we debated between those two but went with the Borla didn’t really feel like dealing with the valves and the Borla sounds really good and doesn’t drone.
Did the adapter for the cat go inside the cat? Or did y’all use the clamp to hold both
If I recall correctly the clamp holds them together.
