All of these beaches are stunning, but our favourite is at Marre e Rocce, where we visit the amazing, 'Rock & Beach' beach bar.

Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint RUclips channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. The turtles were trying to avoid the heat! But instead they ended up in pigeon poo stream!
Ian agrees that he doesn’t want to eat cheese and meat that’s been sitting out in 38°C! But he would eat gelato 3 x a day in that heat. He is sitting here talking nonstop about all of his gelato plans when we go to Europe in a week 😂… especially Italy!

Been watching this with hubby as your videos always cheer him up"plus wills joke at the end" and thank you so much for being honest=flytipping ect.when i went to alabania was going to do a video called the good the bad and the ugly,the ugly being the amount litter everywere and the people just throwing it on the ground ,not caring.we drove over half of albania trying to find no litter no luck.we loved this and can see why its your fav spot debs xx

Sardegna is beautiful. You are right about the water, so crystal clear and I bet it was warm. La Vita Bella. And a cold beer always goes well on a hot day. Lovely tour...but I do enjoy a less crowded beach and some water to cool off!! MSC!!! The best cruise ship line in my opinion! Have done a few through the Caribbean. Keep cool over there...as it has been heat wave and humidity for days on end...Bruce and Otis
We’ve decided we won’t be going in august again because of the heat and crowds. We have been in September and it was gorgeous then. I’ve never crushed with MSC, but know and have taught a few dancers who have worked for them. Thanks so much for watching. We’re back in cooler climbs now!! Cheers 🍻
Loved the tour of the Olbia area, Rachel and Wills. We would enjoy the beach's and pizza! Loved the views from the 3rd beach too. Don't mind a few rocks either! But then you hit us with the 4th beach. Same wonderful views and skimpy bikini's but who's looking? Enjoyed the street entertainers and the photo exhibit. We've been going to Key West here for years and still see one who's been there for over 35 years. He's was talking retirement though as of 2 years ago. Hope to see him again this winter! Fun guy. Hopefully your guy will be there as long! It's comforting to see as the years go by. It's also good to hear about the prices. We tend to not go high end on most accommodations and do look to mix in some budget friendly food too. Sounds like we could do both here. Sorry to hear about the buses. We'd have to try the number 4 bus! Enjoyed hearing about the in's and outs. Thanks for bringing us along!

Number 4 bus seems to hit all the high spots. Don't know why the Turtle won't take it. That water is legit crystal clear. He is an amazing photographer! What cruise line is the Superman ship? 🍻

Oh my goodness. Everything here was just magnificent! That basilica was an incredible sight, and the whole route of the number 4 bus... the sparkly water just made me want to go diving into the screen! Wouldn't mind a beer in the sea myself. Olbia's marina looks like just my sort of spot as well... reminds me of where I grew up! That's so amazing your niece is dancing as well. I can't wait to hear about her upcoming show! So glad you found the turtles, though I'd have rather they had a nice spot in the lovely park. This whole trip was amazing, and everything I was hoping for from a Sardegnan trip. Hopefully the rain cooled things off a bit, that's the nice part of it in Florida and the Caribbean that daily liquid sunshine makes a big difference. Going there very soon. We visited Olbia unexpectedly on a cruise in 2019 was supposed to go to Corsica but the ship couldn't dock due to weather so we ended up in Olbia. Only spent one day there but we liked it a lot and promised ourselves a return visit by air, can't wait to see those beautiful beaches. Really enjoyed your vlog and very useful tips. I hope you find some interesting things to do (and we are very jealous that you’ll be on those beaches very soon - I saw on Instagram this week they’re almost empty now it’s out of season!!). This looked like such a nice place with the beaches and the churches there and I especially loved that church with the mosaic tiles on the roof that sits on an old Roman temple, that looked stunning . I have to admit that I had never heard of Olbia, the only places that I knew of in Sardinia were the capital Calgiari and the very expensive Costa Smerelda, so Sardinia was never on my radar to visit. I'm based in Trieste when I'm in Italy and saw there were flights during the summer to Olbia, and I asked 'what country is that in?'! You've done a good job showing me why we should visit! Love the fact too that the beaches all seem to be open to the public, the Australian part of me hates the whole idea of private beaches controlled by hotels.
Oo I’m glad we’ve shown you around! It’s a lovely place to visit and the beaches are stunning (the beaches on the costa smerelda are incredible too - but so are the prices!! 🤣). We manage to get around fairly cheaply in olbia m. We’ve never been to Trieste - it looks a lovely place. Thanks for watching 🍻

Finally got round to seeing this on the big screen! Lots of lovely beaches with crystal waters! You did really well navigating on the buses especially given the ones that run around late or full! That No4 definitely was the best way to check out all the beaches and allowed you to have a drink at each one! The wines and beer looked great! Mmm, dining out on pizza, pasta and gelato is so appealing, cant wait to get back to that! The photographer was very talented and well travelled! One day of stormy weather is not bad at all! Not sure we could cope in that heat, we definitely like to go later in the year when its a little cooler! Loved the shark impression Wills 😂 shame about the litter, we have similar gripes with places where the graffiti gets way out of hand. I wonder whose responsibility it must be? Another great video with plenty of good advice for people planning a trip 👍 🍻
Thanks guys. Those beaches are the best we’ve ever come across in Europe, it’s a joy to swim in them. Wills shark impression, what can I say - his finest work!! Absolutely terrific travel vlog, so informative, we loved the way you broke it down into sections like the beaches, food and drink etc (although we were so glad you mentioned that you visited the beaches on different days, we were beginning to think "wow, this is one huge beach and bar crawl in one day 🤣 ⛱️). The travel pass was such good value, and we appreciated your honesty at the end about the prices and even some of the negatives, always good to know if you are considering visiting Sardinia). Wow! You can get a flight there for £30😱, that's amazing! But what really stole the show was those beaches, the water with the sparkles in it, stunning! 🥰 ✨️ 🌊. I can hear what you both say about the heat and the crowds. We were away as the high season arrived and this coincided with the exceptional heatwave we have all endured. It made the last week of our trip a bit of a trial. Before retirement we were always out of season most places and it was far more enjoyable. Hope to explore both Sardinia and Sicily in the near future. Thanks for showing us around Olbia.

A talented family, you must be ever so proud of Ella. We've not traveled that far south though it is our intention. Having sat glued to the screen in awe of what you treated me to I am convinced it will happen one of these days. Do you know the best time to have gelato? Mid winter. The gelato is less likely to melt all over your hand. Plus often there aren't any queues. Except that one time one time outside the Vatican at about 11 pm (in a January) and we had to queue. But I think I want to got to Sardinia based solely on your recco of Gap. Sure the beaches look nice and all, and that cheese and ham sweating in the sunlight looks so... something. But a coldie and a gelato *chef's kiss*. Added bonus if there is an ale flavoured gelato?

Beautiful video. Let me just comment about litter. Sardinia is the dreamland not only for foreign tourists, but also for the Italians. The peak is July and August where millions of people go to the beaches and wandering around in the evening. You could not ecpect to see a Swiss village cleanliness, the crowd would put in crisis whatever town in the world. Just imagine having some millions in a sudden, in your town. Noi speriamo che voi tornate in Italia il prima possibile, ma non fatelo mai in Luglio e Agosto. Ultimo consiglio: evitate Roma come la peste nel 2025, it is the Holy Year and we expect something around 60-70 millions of
people from all over the world 😨 Stay safe! 😉🙂

If you've got lots of flexibility August isn't a good month to visit Italy, it's when all Italians go on holiday, either to the beach or to the mountains. The cities empty out, and you'd be lucky to hear any Italian spoken in the major tourist cities like Rome and Florence! And it's really hot, generally early summer is much nicer, but this year I was there in late June to mid July and there were 2 major heatwaves! In the past those were good warm but not stinking hot months to visit, so it's now pot luck as to whether you end up with temperatures in the high 30s. On the plus side, there's a lot more air conditioning around!
Yes, we’ve said we won’t visit Sardinia again in august as it’s so much more pleasant in June and September! But as you say, heatwaves are whenever these days!! 🍻
This is such a handy video. I have booked Olbia in July. I am a first timer and was a bit worried about the distance to the beaches. We do not fancy hiring a car. Looks very easy to catch buses. Are they reliable? We dont wwnt to be stranded. Thanks 🙏 xx
Thank you so much. Were very jealous. You’ll have a brilliant time. The number 4 bus is reliable. One thing we have found is that it doesn’t run as regularly as it did pre pandemic. I have the ASPO app on my phone. That’s great as you can hit tickets on that and get the times of the buses too. We’ve never been let down by those buses. Have the best time 🍻

@@ffionnicholas8085 to be honest once you’ve got in that beautiful sea I don’t think you’ll need a pool! We’ve never had a pool on Olbia. The Pelican Beach resort sits right on Pelicanos Beach, I don’t know if they do a day pass at all, but it might be worth an ask? Have a brilliant time 🍻
