    Doctor Stewart actually called Fraust by his name in the end. Only after listening to dozens of these have I realized just how tethered the Foundation is to procedure, down to only referring to them as their full SCP designation and ignoring their real names. So it's a small but meaningful gesture for Dr. Stewart to call Fraust by his name, in addition to putting him with his other effects

      The Foundation's cold approach in treating even sentinel anomalies as just a "thing" rather than a "entity" is probably efficient for it's goals but has it's drawbacks. Many people only get treated as a thing rather than a person. The Foundation likely does this in an attempt to make the job easier, but it probably worsens the views the anomalies hold of the Foundation

They could have just put the hat with the clothes in a cardboard box in any random locker to comply with Fraust's request, but with the details of the hardwood wardrobe and semi-monthly airing of the clothes and inspection for damage...that's an exceptional level of care and respect shown to an SCP that we don't have even proof is aware of its surroundings, more than we have seen towards many other sentient scips. Honestly made me tear up when I realized it.

      Safe / Euclid / Keter isn't about how dangerous they are, it's just how hard they are to contain, It's Euclid because people could wear the hat at any time like what happened with the breach so it being Euclid makes sense because once someone puts on the hat the scp would just vanish and escape again

      @@hex1 I've been viewing it as "desire" as well as ability. Example, 096 can't be stopped until whatever saw its face is dead, still Keter but a "safe" keter. You put 096 in a box and it's content to just stay in said box.
      Meanwhile 682 is straight up keter and wants to murderize everyone's face all the time. It wants out of its box and will do whatever possible to get out of its box.
      Finally this SCP. While it has the ability seems to not have the desire. As far as the ending goes it seems like if a researcher has D-4467 put on the hat, it won't manifest at all, or will manifest just long enough to say "I'd like to be put back in my box please." Based on the whole "what happens when you put it in a box" system it would fall closer to safe as opposed to Euclid

    This made me so sad but near the end he got some closure at least. But it breaks my heart knowing that he could never die even when inside the top hat. At least he got a chance to say goodbye to the woman he loved. This was very well written. I do want to read about the circus of the disquieting. Sounds to me like this may be an interesting read. Thank you Volgun. This Sunday’s video really got me. 👏🏻👏🏻

    There's always been a strangely high level of continuity with the circus, which is odd given that personality and relationships tend to be the focus of the story rather than anomalous events

    Man I've never had an SCP reading resonate with me so hard. The appeal of being truly one in the same with someone you love absolutely. I believe we as humans hold each other close in a loving embrace to experience closeness physically mentally and emotionally. So the appeal of being unfathomably close to a loved one I can understand it. Also simply just a very well done story. and excellent reading as always

      They do stuff like this quite often if you actually read a lot of good entries. Part of the Protect is to also protect the SCP's as long as it doesn't cause harm to humanity as a whole to do so

    • @PratzStrike
      @PratzStrike 3 года назад +4

      @@TheWonkster There's a statement somewhere in the Foundation files that talks about how many of the SCPs are living things, or at least sentient, and as long as they can be kept in a place that doesn't cause harm to anyone else, they shouldn't be made to suffer unduly.

    Direct from the author:
    “Some of the feedback I've gotten has been about how forced the gender stuff appears. Cahaya is meant to be whatever gender you assign to them. I wanted it to be very fluid on that. Also, Fraust is a Clown, and can change their gender at will.“

    • @Brandon-1996
      @Brandon-1996 2 года назад +2

      Yeah, gender fluidity and 100 different genders, respect my self interpretation, all that silliness.
      But, is that how the clowns originally worked? I was initially confused both by the pronouns and the re-introduction of clowns as actual people. This time around, they're not human but they are people, as opposed to the first weird article I read of them, SCP 2912. I know not all SCP lore can be true at the same time.

      icky put Fraust in the hat and gave it to Cahaya when they left so they could be together. Fraust could never leave the circus otherwise. Whenever Cahaya put it on, they became one person. It was never going to stop Cahaya from dying, but it would let them be together. Then they died and Fraust was left alone.

    The circus of the disquieting has always been a huge question mark to me. Breeding such humanoid creatures to be entertainment for the masses, it is quite a disturbing thing. Up to this point we didn't know exactly how the circus of the disquieting moved around let alone functioned and how they were able to keep track of all of their clowns as well as their assets now we know. I would have to say the top hat is probably something old very old dare I say it was probably owned by Alistair Crowley himself the world's foremost thermatologist through the 1800s to the 1900s I believe I'm not sure. So the real question is if the hat functioned like a magical GPS radar system most likely they have a replacement.
