- The Count of Tuscany es la sexta y la más larga canción del álbum Black Clouds & Silver Linings de la banda Dream Theater. Se traduce al Español "El Conde de la Toscana". La letra, escrita por John Petrucci, comparte muchos temas como la hermandad, la guerra y tener los sentimientos heridos, se puede interpretar de muchas formas, la letra está basada en una experiencia real y personal de Petrucci. Este es para muchos admiradores de la banda el mejor tema del año (2009), y según la banda la canción insignia del albúm.

Te lo digo que solamente personas con bueno gusto, gusta de una obra de arte tan estupenda como esta... Yo oigo Dream Theater por las calles en el coche. Y hay gente que me llama de loco, pero locos son ellos que no entienden de buena música 🎶.

Literalmente un temazo, tuve la oportunidad de escucharlos en vivo y de verdad fue una experiencia emocionante hasta las lágrimas.
Conociendo el contexto de la banda, lo profundo de la letra, los arreglos musicales, la calidad de los músicos, los pasajes musicales y un público lleno de fanáticos… ufff una vivencia que rebalsa de energía el alma.

Yo los vi aca en Argentina en el Movistar, fue increible, cuando empezó el tema no podia creer que estaba escuchando en vivo mi tema favorito, en la parte de "espera un momento hombre" la canté gritando y llorando, fue hermoso. Sin dudas uno de los temas de Dream Theater mas glorioso de todos.

Ha pasado Opeth, Mastodon, Tool, Karnivool, Haken en mi vida, junto a muchas más... Todas grandes bandas... Pero Dream Theater es algo especial... Este tema es mi preferido de la banda junto a Octavarium y A Change of Seasons... Simplemente, es el tema perfecto.
I'm a jazz guy, but time ago i used to listen prog rock. This is the best song I heard in my life. They're amazing even if they've been always critizised by many. I could not never critizise someone who wroted this magnific song.

That's the best about DT.
Someone who likes Jazz would listen to this and say "I like this", someone who likes rock would listen to this and say "I like this" and someone who likes metal would say the exact same thing. DT are appealing to everybody.
I like all types of metal, including the heavy forms, and yet, I love these guys.
If you like this theme, you must to ear their old albums; there are themes that are far away better than this master-piece =)
I got their best Albums like Images and Words, Awake, A change of seasons, Octavarium, Scenes from a memory, Falling into infinity, 6 degrees of inner turbolance and When dream and day unite. :)

***** Wither, The Shattered Fortress and The Best of Times were rather weak in comparison to the rest of the album, but this album was pretty epic to be honest. I definitely feel DT created a great piece of art with this album.

All the songs on it appears in my Top 20 Dream Theater songs easily. Except "The Shattered Fortress".
***** People talk bad about latest albums because they think it makes them cool,it makes them look like master musicians and know alot about those stuff.It's not only Dream Theater,it's happening to many important bands (meshuggah is also an example). No one cares about your musical taste and nobody is going to create music according to it.

But I still pick the old albums than the new , I'm still stuck on Imagine and words and Awake , they have never sounded like that time, maybe not only they but anybody. Anyway I love DT , almost all the albums are awesome , they are one of the best bands in the history of music .

The theory of Illumination song is just a hard attempt at duplicating previous epic songs like Octavarium and the Count of Tuscany failing miserable in the process..
and they know it, they're no fools most concerts their play list consist of close to 90% post 2008 going backwards...
