- Ordered my DSS 1 Piece in early June and it finally came in! My OEM driveshaft had a crazy loud carrier bearing with a TON of play. Here is an easy how-to on the process of installing a DSS 1 Piece in a first generation CTS-V. Review video coming soon!
3:33 perfect time to do shifter bushings!
Just installed this driveshaft and I’m getting a vibration at about 75 mph doesn’t seem normal as it is a pretty aggressive vibration do you have any suggestions on what I should do to fix it also does there rear diff have to be lined up at all ?
So Im wondering if you can help me out. I bought some Mickey Thompson Street SS drag radials for my 2011 V sedan and ended up selling them because I thought they were rubbing in the wheel well on hard launches. Well even once I put the original rims and Michelin Pilots back on, I was hearing- and feeling the same noise and sensation of what felt like a tire rubbing. So then I replaced the rear shocks. Some improvement but the same shit on any moderate let alone aggressive launch. Are my U joints shot? Car has 53k miles and is a heads/cam/intake/pulleyed/E85 car. Auto trans.
Off topic: Dude with the Glasses looks like Dude from Degrassi, Drakes tenor. Lol. Had to
Is driveshaft 1 piece better or its just good.
What is the price of driveshaft 1 piece!!!??
How does that one-piece shaft drive??
Is there a big difference over the oem shaft
Love it! It had some vibes around 80, but not bad. It's in my drift V now and still holding up well.
How did u remove the carriers
Great video! How would you describe the increase in noise and vibration? Thanks!
A little more noise and some minor vibrations, but overall super happy with it!
Are the rear differential issues widespread with these gen 1 CTS-V's?
Wheel hop causes the casings to break. Many mods are out there to help minimize the hop!
The first gen rear diff for the CTS-V were the same they put in the CTS. Obviously, putting that kind of diff in a high hp/torque car is destine for issues, especially if you have a lead foot. On the other hand, if you take care of it and are not doing crazy launches, it can last. Now, the gen 2,3, and 4 diffs got a little stronger every new version but never where they should be for this car. People looking to hold more power look at getting the creative steel 8.8 rear diff. I know they make anti-wheel hop kits that some say do nothing and some say the opposite.
Do you have the link or phone number or any form of contact with where you got your drive shaft I’m looking to replace my due to the bearings on the back half of the two price oem drive shaft going out.
