I'm excited that there are more Western Star trucks. With that being said, a lot of changes need to happen. Firstly, the 57X needs to be classified as a highway truck. Secondly, the 47X NF1430 needs to have a longer flatbed if it's going to have a longer chassis. Makes no sense to have a long chassis, but normal sized flatbed/various other frame attachments. Lastly, what doesn't make any sense is the lack of better tires, diff lock, all wheel drive, and suspension upgrades. I'm glad the trucks are here, but there needs to be a quality of life update for sure. Maybe with Phase 8, we'll get an additional update to these trucks.
I've been messing around on the test server and the 4 upcoming maps have a lot of paved/dirt only roads that'll make these more viable. Still doesn't really justify how they perform now or how limited they'll be on older maps but at least it's something. I could see these being used as long distance haulers between maps to keep an off road capable truck free for something else
Makes no sense since you are but 1 guy using 1 truck. So no matter what you do. You will just use that 1 truck for a whole mission and back. And in multiplayer everyone has their own trucks so idk what you are talking about
- 57x needs to be highway class - All trucks should have diff lock as that is pretty much standard in heavy duty trucks these days, especially in the vocational class such as the to 47 and the 49. - Its rumored that some maps are coming with paved roads and easy dirt, but honestly they need to fix the traction issues on pavement. Even highway tires are still like driving on ice when in top gear going a blistering 30 mph.
NO DIFF LOCK AND NO AWD?? AND ONLY ONE OF THEM HAS KINDA OK ADDONS AND LACK OF CRANES *mega mind as truck driver in snow runner* TRASH. oh we all agree ?
I'm used to be like: Ah cool new DLC instant buy, but with this one my disappointment was even bigger than the Apache's lack of tow hitch when I found out. I assume Western Star had thier say to putting them into the heavy class because we all know they are supposed to be highway trucks. I think the 47x NF1430 should have diff lock at least. I was so disappointed that the 47X NF1424 doesn't have AWD and the NF 1430 even more. The latter struggles so much offroad it's quite awful. Dual lift axles sound fun to do some extreme weight haulung but offroad it falls flat on it's face absolutely unusable. I understand the 57x with the big sleeper, tall height that that one is a highway truck, but the others are hella disappointing. Very low ground clearance kills them all for me. Gotta use mods that give at least the 4x10 some decent performance and do some fun tests with the lift axle and the NF1424 as well. Very disappointed in this one without mods they are absolutely useless in my opinion the Transtar and the CLT 9000 are better in my opinion with ground clearance, more addons and most importantly free base game trucks.
The Apache looks cool and is very good offroad. These trucks a very limited. One looks amazing. One can at least maybe somewhat useful to carry medium logs. But over all this DLC isn't worth the money.
When it come to ATS the trucks have AWE (well all trucks do) but in SnowRunner they also need will have DIF. Also I agree, there is more then enough room to have a crane on there. But I do love the paint of how it glows in the dark, that is an awesome touch. I want to get some on my glow paint on my truck; well it's not mine, but still.
They're a wasted opportunity in my opinion, having AWD and DIFF Lock would made them more attractive to use (even with these dead axles and low ground clearance). If they keep like that, I still prefer to use past dlc trucks since I will not need to pay for them again. There's any chance of they adding more upgrades for them in the final version? Because AWD would make them more useful. Until now, they're a cool sinalizator with these glowing liveries.
Lol with how much super mud they add in the dlc's you can realisticly only use 1/4 of all the trucks in game and for usable trucks with the add ons you need etc its only 1/6 of the trucks you can use
I dont think these trucks have AWD in real life, nor i think it would be possible to add a front axle since they are very low to the ground and the engines are massive.

I test drove the Western Star 57X today and liked it quite a lot!. Sure, I didn't get all the upgrades for it, but She handled Herself really, rather well!. Choosing your routes carefully is key, but the Truck didn't disappoint. One thing?, the fuel capacity might not seem like much but the top engine's quite fuel efficient. The 47X NF1424 was a great short hauler - no AWD so again, planning your routes carefully will get the Truck to do every job you throw at it. Frame add-ons are good and cargo hauling is something it can do without too much trouble. Finally, the last of the 3. The 47X NF1430 didn't impress me much. Not a bad Truck per se, but it seems like it's a hard one to figure out what to do with. The lift axles in the middle cause issues - looked as though the idea was inspired by a Dump Truck from Western Star's lineup. Paved and Dirt roads are where the Truck is the happiest, anything else and YOU will be the one gettin upset. It's a little early, but I would love to see what these 3 can do in the new map. Apologies for the late reply.
49x realistically has no awd but never stopped me from using it on heavy haul missions besides she was meant to be a logger or saddle high puller with the dead axle for extra weight distribution. I'm worried they might do the same stunt with the ken worth and mack dlc bringing highway trucks when a c500 awd or 6x4 is fine and mack DM trucks, at least bring in some real us off roaders or a blend of highway and off road so we have something to out do the pacifics and boar in special high saddle trailer hauling.
When you said WS was coming to snow runner I knew it was going to be bad, because Western Star to my knowledge doesn't make any new 6x6 trucks, and all their trucks are highway trucks, so this video confirmed my suspicions
Wish they would add some tire updates… 1. Inflate or deflate tires for grip 2. Have different front and rear tires. Imagine tyga ballon’s on rear and normals on front would be cool.
4:47 you have 2 mistakes here: the red truck is 49X, the blue one is 47X. You are calling them both 49X in the header, and then both 47X in the footer.

@@kwleung5883 maybe give it the option for active suspension, like the azov 73210, because that has very low ground clearance but is still a beast of a truck, and with the volvo having no over hang in front of the front wheels like the azov it should be more capable. No?

I think the lack of add ons like awd and diff lock and others is because these trucks are for season 8 The locked suspension, I bet is in the upcoming map But I do think that both the 47s need awd and the one needs diff lock And the 49 needs at least diff lock
I am thinking these trucks have to be bugged, at least the 57x. On one of my saves it has AWD and diff lock, my other 3 saves none. I even deleted a save and started a new to confirm and same thing. So like the missing cranes, maybe those are bugged to? We shall see in time. otherwise, i don't se much use from these. Glad the Max mod creator already got these updated there so i can use them and be useful, just from a mod and not the in game version.
There's a wide range of better Western Star trucks that could of been sold in this DLC such as Western Star's 6900XD tank hauler, I doubt Saber Interactive actually chose the trucks. Western Star is marketing their new trucks in Snow Runner just as they are with American Truck Simulator, and showing just how much better their older trucks like the 4964 are.
Honestly I like 57x I was in Alaska and that chunky boi didn't stuck ( it did once but i was rocky environment) Pulling heavy stuff on full throttle and didn't break a sweat Others...... 2:18 if the GMC has AWD as an option it should be fair to use it, dont make the existing trucks worse to give the onroad trucks a chance, what's the point in doing that?
Actually it's conditional...only those people who purchased season pass 1 or phase 1 update can have AWD on GMC...Also It's only to give people idea about what the performance of these trucks would be compared to existing trucks.... but this video is not true anymore because these new WS will get AWD soon as they already got it in PTS version
Man don't go soft on devs about the lack of AWD that doesn't make any sense, you and TC9700 are the two channels getting the most views, so let them know that this DLC needs a patch, and it's urgent, AWD diff lock and all the other little things like crane, add ons and all. PLEASE!
What a waste of effort this DLC is. I urge my fellow snowrunners to not buy this one. Vote with your wallets if you want the next DLC to actually have offroad trucks for our offroad trucking game.
All 3 trucks lacks AWD, and only 1 have Diff lock and no crane + other addons, so I aree 100%, buy only for the looks (at least for the time been, perhaps later on there will be some additions/fixes?)
@@SD1ONE Yeah once you get the truck up to about 50 kph it just starts floating and sliding until you lose control. i feel like the 57x is so out of place i mean the truck is designed to be specifically on the road and in snowrunner there aren't a lot of highways to utilize this truck plus it looks so weird going off-road
Sooooo here wee have snowrunner with another dlc that for some reason whent after highway trucks . . . Something that most if not all of us sell to buy a better off road vehicle, unless you like a challenge. But like every one else in the commets has said, the game needs a fix for the asphalt so that you can actually hava a reason to use the highway transmission and tires. @@deet4895?, whatever do you mean? - at no point did I say that I regretted making this purchase. On the contrary, these Trucks were quite good - far more practical than say the Scouts that were released previously. By the way, have you driven the Jeeps or the Land Rovers?, now those were awful. Apologies for the late reply.
I like you uploading frequently but take your time. Grammatical errors and mistakes in tests like the HX really lower the quality.
its sad none of these trucks have AWD or diff locker which makes them absolutely useless in snowrunner muddy roads.
But they do look amazing
If you want a good reliable western star get the 49x it has awd, diff lock, is decently fast while the new ones are just stylish
I use the 49X a lot along side a very similar HX520. ... J
@@jaymays8800 caterpillar ct681 is also good
@@huskofdadbod I agree. I've used that one too quite a bit along with the white Western Star. ... J
When you said WS was coming to snow runner I knew it was going to be bad, because Western Star to my knowledge doesn't make any new 6x6 trucks, and all their trucks are highway trucks, so this video confirmed my suspicions
only buy if you like their looks, you said. do you recommend?
These will be very useful for Remohs Highway Hauling map though!
Wish they would add some tire updates…
1. Inflate or deflate tires for grip
2. Have different front and rear tires. Imagine tyga ballon’s on rear and normals on front would be cool.
4:47 you have 2 mistakes here: the red truck is 49X, the blue one is 47X. You are calling them both 49X in the header, and then both 47X in the footer.
yes...I get confused between tese names throughout the video
Nice vid
No awd and only one of then has difflock And they still dare to put them in heavy trucks strange
They should add that western star truck that appears in Mudrunner
About DLCs that are not included in season passes, you only recommended Mastodon and GMC Brigadier, right?
mastadon is highest priority, next is navistar, brigadier and even this wol pack is decent if you're into modern trucks
I love how when i first got the game on switch, I was excited as ever, Later on down the line I start contemplating why I had to get this game on switch. Because of how limited the switch users are. Not to be rude to Saber but they say that switch mods they don't know when there coming out. Don't get me wrong the game is nice and i like it but once again the switch users are so limited. I love how your videos are on the baseline of like comparing trucks or telling us what trucks seem not so good. Anyways a great video!👍
(Edit: Does anyone know when its coming out on switch or se. 8?)
dont worry... switch mods will come as they promised, it's just matter of time
I wish they made those bumpers available on the 49x,
I know two of them you can buy the parts to change them too all wheel drive , really wish they would do more parts you can buy/appearance
If you look at the buttons on the dash to the right on all of them, you can see they all have the switch for diff locker, why didn’t SR give it to them? Who knows.
maybe bugs like the skin thing that dlc notes mentioned....I think they'll fix them in phase 8 update... but she release them in half baked state
Would be cool if you could acces the sleeper to pass time, not useful lol but very cool
Thanks for your video and my Nintendo switch is fixed
“Only buy if you like their looks”. In other word, they are 3 pieces of shiny junk.
We need more cabovers imo would love a volvo/ scania dlc or something
Unless offroaders.... no thanks i want stuff i can acctually use past michigan. Im not paying 5 $ for them to be one trick ponies
@@evobsm2328 obviously, I was thinking something like an 8x8 or 6x6 fmx or an awd fm16 from volvo. (With optional diff and switchable awd)
@@dylan4538 i don't think the awd fh16 would help a lot due to its low ground clearance
@@kwleung5883 maybe give it the option for active suspension, like the azov 73210, because that has very low ground clearance but is still a beast of a truck, and with the volvo having no over hang in front of the front wheels like the azov it should be more capable. No?
My friend recently poke around in this new DLC and found out there's a hidden truck. It's either dev put it by mistake or decide to add it later after phase 8. It's a Rezvani 6x6 truck
You mean another youtuber? Yes but thats in the game files and only recently discovered. Either you are talking cap or hes the fastes file scraper in the west
Never used any of western star trucks. Pointless is a good description of them all.
The Kodiak acts like it has a limited slip differential. Makes it effective even in 2wd.
it's just has a lot of ground clearance... creating less drag with mud... also it's in awd during the test
I think the lack of add ons like awd and diff lock and others is because these trucks are for season 8
The locked suspension, I bet is in the upcoming map
But I do think that both the 47s need awd and the one needs diff lock
And the 49 needs at least diff lock
is there a way to test their fuel consumption? I have a feeling that the modern highway trucks will be good at this
I am thinking these trucks have to be bugged, at least the 57x.
Yes...I think they should release either 6900xd or 4800SB (8x8).....they're old trucks but they're better suited in this game.
Great Gaming
I guess for these trucks you got to use the mod map highway hauling... LoL
Upcomming phase 8 has good road network...I'll use them there
Thanks for replying ✌️
They ever gona make those Wipers work??
Not sure if that's even possible with this game engine...I mean I didn't even saw any mod with working vipers and I tried a lot of them.
both ATS and snowrunner gotten the new trucks i think what after they was announced and revealed.
Love your vids! What is the name of the map you used in this video?
unreleased map by a friend
@@SD1ONE Thank you for quick response!
The map looks great, sending regards to your friend! Would be a huge success if released to the public!
how is it possible that a complete different game from GTA Online has the SAME problem of vehicle class placement. HOW
Right ? These are ALL highway trucks
what really annoys me as a truck driver is that they did not put difflock on all 3 trucks. difflock comes standard on every truck made now.
I feel they are just three more additions for the Truck Show Simulator.
We need maps with more roads to use these kinds of Trucks...snowrunner are desingned for offroad only.
I feel like since all of them lack 4 wheel drive there’s really no purpose on buying the update. Seems like a waste of money
Yayyyyyyyyyy
Where upgrades for it?
My guess its either a glitch or in phase 8
Yes...I also believe they're in phase 8...I think they should've delayed the release of these trucks near phase 8 release if that's the case
Honestly
I like 57x
I was in Alaska and that chunky boi didn't stuck ( it did once but i was rocky environment)
Pulling heavy stuff on full throttle and didn't break a sweat
Others...... Meh
Didn't yosed them
Although i do want buy a 47x cause i like its design and he has more offroad capability than x 49 in here
Even if you installed offroad still i managed to stuck multiple times
Soo
Id say buy that pack but honestly
Only truck i used its 57x
What will be next DLC? Formula One?
Short answer is they suck. But as usual I love the sound they make, that’s why I always buy every dlc😝
Hello! What is your PC setup?
I can't install the raised suspension on these. Does anyone know why?
2:18 if the GMC has AWD as an option it should be fair to use it, dont make the existing trucks worse to give the onroad trucks a chance, what's the point in doing that?
Actually it's conditional...only those people who purchased season pass 1 or phase 1 update can have AWD on GMC...Also It's only to give people idea about what the performance of these trucks would be compared to existing trucks.... but this video is not true anymore because these new WS will get AWD soon as they already got it in PTS version
@@SD1ONE yeah i hope so, they are less than useless atm
What is the map used for the test?
Atleast the short 47x is worth seeing the ones with dead axle the long 47x ain't my favorite
dont even worry about AWD, pretty sure MrBusses is already tweaking them
yeah...I saw his mod...a lot of improvements and even has stock options as well for those who only wanted addons.
Man don't go soft on devs about the lack of AWD that doesn't make any sense, you and TC9700 are the two channels getting the most views, so let them know that this DLC needs a patch, and it's urgent, AWD diff lock and all the other little things like crane, add ons and all. PLEASE!
I mentioned everything in a civil way also this might be a licenced thing so devs hands might also be tied
I bought it but won’t let me use the wolf pack
What a waste of effort this DLC is. I urge my fellow snowrunners to not buy this one. Vote with your wallets if you want the next DLC to actually have offroad trucks for our offroad trucking game.
there is a mod for awd and diff lock. so you can drive it in mud.
get the cranes, AWD and DIFF mod for this pack, figures
i like some of the paint jobs and stickers that come with this DLC but thats it, not interested in using onroad trucks for an offroad game
*Superb Gaming Style*
All 3 trucks lacks AWD, and only 1 have Diff lock and no crane + other addons, so I aree 100%, buy only for the looks (at least for the time been, perhaps later on there will be some additions/fixes?)
I hope the nf 1424 get awd at least
What bothers me is that they have these highway trucks but no highways. Honestly where are you supposed to use them?
even if we had highways the game physics is not suitable for normal paved roads....our best bet is half decent roads and dirt roads
@@SD1ONE Yeah once you get the truck up to about 50 kph it just starts floating and sliding until you lose control. I thought it might be the offroad tires but you switch to highway tires and its just as bad. There's this one mod map called highway hauling which is cool but the highway sections are as you would expect because of the physics..........messy.
if you wondering why the trucks are so limited
blame western star since its them who makes the terms of the contracts snowrunner has
Maybe...these licences does limit devs as well
But why would WS want to ruin their own trucks and make everyone resent them, and thus not buy them? Shooting themselves in the foot...
i feel like the 57x is so out of place i mean the truck is designed to be specifically on the road and in snowrunner there aren't a lot of highways to utilize this truck plus it looks so weird going off-road
Can I ask what map do you use when you know doing best mod vids
mostly proving grounds... inbuilt test mai that can be accessed through mod browser
Dessert or pt something
They all get awd tho?
Sooooo here wee have snowrunner with another dlc that for some reason whent after highway trucks . . . Something that most if not all of us sell to buy a better off road vehicle, unless you like a challenge.
But like every one else in the commets has said, the game needs a fix for the asphalt so that you can actually hava a reason to use the highway transmission and tires. But until then "Here you go everyone MORE TRUCKS like mods didn't do that already" at this point it seems like wee will not get a fix for this until the next game.
