  • Reimel Motor Cars is proud to offer this 1977 International Scout II Traveler with only 3,659 miles. Finished in Military Green exterior paint over Brown distressed vinyl and cloth interior.
Sold new in Tucson, Arizona, this Scout benefits from a multi-year restoration and modification build completed by Rob Bonney Fabrication in Peoria, Arizona.
The frame was hot dip galvanized and powdercoated for corrosion protection. Custom frame reinforcements support full-length skid plates and rocker panel protection. The body was brought down to bare metal, and all rust was repaired with new sheetmetal. Front and rear fenders were enlarged and tubbed to accommodate the larger tires without resorting to a tall suspension lift. Durable Rhino lining was then applied to the interior sheetmetal, wheel wells, and underbody.
Power comes from a 6.0L GM V8 making 300hp and 360lb ft of torque, backed by a Hughes Performance 4L65E four speed automatic.
This distributes power to a Dana 44 axle up front with 4.88 gears, ARB Air Locker, and disc brakes fitted. Front suspension is made up of Rancho Wagoneer leaf springs and Bilstein 5150 11-in-travel shocks.
Out back is a Currie Ford 9-Inch also fitted with 4.88 gears, ARB Air Locker, and disc brakes. Rear suspension is made up of Valley Spring leaf springs, and Bilstein 5150 12-in-travel shocks. Wheels are 17 x 8 TrailReady Beadlocks riding on 35x12.50R17LT Falken WildPeak M/T tires. Even the stock steering box and pump has been ported by Benchworks to account for the heavier rolling stock.
Topping things off are custom steel front and rear bumpers (with spare tire carrier), Warn XD9000i winch, custom 26-gal fuel tank, six-point rollcage, custom roof rack, ARB awning, custom dash and gauges, and LED lighting.

I remember when this sold in auction and is the inspiration for my 1977 Traveler LS build.
I would love to be able to have the money to afford this.
Seeing it being sold again begs the question of why the owner didn’t drive it or use it. :( maybe too nice. Didn’t wanna get it dirty?

I hear you - I was in the room when this sold at auction in 2018 in Scottsdale. I've loved it since the first time I saw it! This Scout was part of a larger collection, so it was used rather sparingly.

@@reimelmotorcars3384 well good luck selling it. I can’t wait to see more pictures on the listing as well as maybe more videos. ;) maybe take it for a drive?

Thanks! While I'd love to run her through a few of the local trails, she'll likely remain pristine and clean until her new owner takes delivery!
