My dad (John Person) bought this one- its now located in Emerald, Wisconsin. And yes- its a great car- fun to drive. No wipers, no air.... nothing extra. Just the way it should be.
The only new car my father ever owned was exactly like this except it was a factory gold. He sold it in 1977, two years before I got my drivers license. Thanks for the memories.

Honestly, I've never thought of myself as a huge Dart fan, but this car can make you one. It really is a beauty....sounds great too. Thanks for taking a look my friend!
Honest to goodness. That was the exact thought I had when I saw this. I owned a 69 GTS, and I've seen many GTS's, but this clearly is the best looking one I've ever seen. That green along with the satin black six pack hood and American Racing torque thrust mags makes this thing smoke !
I re-redone this car. It was completed in 07'. I drove the car 9700 mile after it was done. The Dart GTS originally had a 340 automatic in the floor, white interior paint code LL 1 . Now the color is 97 ford ranger cayman metallic code DA . I really appreciate the comments!
Good grief, great job. I'm a Detroiter and Chrysler engineering guy and really appreciate your car. I was in the engine lab from 69 on so the sound takes me back.
thanks for sharing this awesome Dart! this one really looks perfect, especially taking into account its price tag! as I'm looking for something like this, would go for it!!!
My dad rebuilt this car,it was found with 90% of drivetrain missing...so for the purest...we didn't destroy a numbers matching car. And yes this is a restomod. Dad had built this car to relive his younger days. We built several cars together, and it was bittersweet seeing this car on here. Would love to connect to present owners, and love to see they love it as much as we did
Wonder if you go down the street at like 30-50 mph .. if it has that “Whistle” noise. Those who owned one would know what I’m talking about. It was this body type that has a whistle noise somewhere .. when driving down the road. From 67-69 this body style.
I think most people realize this is a very well done resto-mod. The Mopar guys out there know the GTS cars were almost all 340/383 cars, so a non factory hood, and auto-meter gauges are all indications this isn't a factory correct 440ci car.
@@gshock3092 wrong I bought a new 1967 gtx I still have, numbers matching 440 4spd car . The first year for the 440 was 1966, installed in everything from performance cars to land yachts that was offered and even the pickup trucks.
In 68 I made 180 an hour 60 dollars a week and a car like this was around 4000 base price couldn't afford it then or now.dream car for me.340 was a better option then and they screamed
That Dart sounds really good. I guess this answered your question from your previous 68 Dart(383) video, where you mentioned that you weren't sure whether or not they put 440's in Darts. Although it's certainly possible that this isn't the original engine. One sure-fire way to vastly increase power in Mopars or GM cars, is to install Ford engines, but I guess that goes without saying, right? Lol
As per the vin this was originally a 340 car. Dodge never put 440's in 68 Darts, but Mr. Norms did put 440's in 48 of them, which he called a Dart GSS. Grand Spaulding Specials. I had one.
A guy in my town used to have a dart GTS with a 440 and he said it was a special factory order or he said a company got permission from Mopar to put the 440 in the car can remember which one but are any of those true I'm pretty sure it was one of them to things he said it was
I didn't see anything regarding it being a clone, does the seller have to disclose its a clone or is it up to the buyer to check the VIN numbers, build history? .
And thers a few different ways to spot them some ove seen has the 383 badging left on it also the s at least one of the is painted red thers a few ways you a can tell right away this one is not a grand Spaulding car thers a few on you tube and check them out they are a lot different also no one with a factory car from grand Spaulding would smoth out firewall or all the pretty aluminum radiator it would have factory stuff on it but this is a way cool car any way you look at it great resto mod
Fuck "Great Year" well best was I was born on that year. So, this car is 52-yrs old to today 2021. WOW... $32,000 US what is it Canadian? Plus shipping to Ontario. Deadly car.
Beautiful car, great color, I would have left the dash stock. Looks like NO power brakes, NO power steering, NO heater, NO A/C, NO windshield wipers or washers, This must be a race car?
I had my first speeding ticket in a gritty version of this, smaller engine to be sure. It was day two of having my drivers license and folks sold the car because of it. 😡
Brings back memories when I was a kid. Super clean GTS.
Super car... I remember the 340 was badass... I can't imagine a 440 under the hood! wow!

Hi David, love the 6 pak hood on the Dart. Looks very well built. Can you tell me where you purchased it? Thanks.
That Dart is sweet! I'm more of an OEM man, but that thing is something else!! Very well done.
Very clean Dart that color is cool also.
That is a factory color, but with maybe a little more metallic in it. It's definitely a great looking car. Thanks for watching!

Very nice Dodge Dart.
Let's take a look at that
Mach 1 .
Side note You could have opened up the trunk for a look see. Back in the day I owned a 69 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 cid loved that car.
I bet she ran good...mine was a 340 4 spd and would run from start to finish
Nice car! I put a modified 440 in my Duster, so I know the challenges it takes to do it right.

great car thx fro the post

This one really is sharp. Thanks for checking it out my friend!
You couldn't build it that nice for that price, but I did see a few tiny bubbles in the driver's side stripe by the GTS emblem.
I had a GTS 383, I know they made a 426 hemi dart that wasn't street legal, I didn't know that they made a 440 dart

In 69, Grand Spalding Dodge built a few 440 Darts. In 68 Dodge made some with a 383 and only 80 with the 426 Hemi(race only)
