I remember asking if you'd record high quality audio for OFT-1 like you did for many other rocket launches. So glad you did. I've been waiting :) Fantastic video.
@@EpicSpaceflight How did it sound compared to other rockets you've seen fly in person? Like, which would be the loudest? I assume shuttle because of the SRBs.
@@AlienVibesss That is a great question and it definitely was loud. For the Shuttle, the Press Site was about 3 miles away while this was filmed at 5 miles so its a bit tricky to compare. Also I was watching engines blow up left and right through the binoculars and I was so captivated by watching this that it was hard to take in all that was happening.
@Epic Spaceflight Damn, so the true comparison would likely be a Starship launch from LC-39A so it's roughly the same distance away. Looking forward to that. A Florida launch is more viable for me being in NC. Shorter drive. I understand being captivated though. I can honestly say I would've had the same reaction if I was there.
@@AlienVibesss yes sometime I’ll go film from 3 miles so it is a better comparison. On this day they had clouds so only saw the rocket for about 10 seconds. On the plus side, another veteran member of the space media told me it was the loudest rocket he had ever heard.
The Raptor Crackle....No other sound is more terrifying and awe inspiring!!!
Reminds me of popcorn popping

Thanks, I certainly wouldn’t miss this opportunity to do so. Next time Im going to adjust the gain down a bit to compensate for how loud it was.

At about 1:17 you can see a sand precipitation fall out of the launch cloud. It almost looks like rain.
At 0:13 seconds, a colossal piece of concrete gets yeeted into the air
Around 7:09 there are 2 subtle booms that might have been from the FTS induced breakup events
