tgguitarguy no shame in that. Or at least, I don't think so, because I'm in the same boat. It's a really enjoyable attraction when you don't have anything to compare it to
This kinda follows a theme actually. Current Journey ride is a very minimalist style ride, much like several recent attractions where there isn't much to look at and there's mostly screens everywhere. If you like this one you'll LOVE the original. Sherman brothers, the famous blokes who wrote the songs for mary poppins, wrote the overall themesong for JII which was chopped up all weird in the current version. The entire ride is on youtube so I suggest taking a look for yourself. It doesn't just say how the senses can influence imagination, it goes into how your entire world is a major influence for imagination with innovative technology, especially the first room, the rotating theater lined up with the track. I think the literature section of the ride is my favorite one, in a way, to me, it tells people that imagination doesn't have to be fairy tales, painting, and rainbows. Just watch. Please. Seriously you're missing out. The original ride is like art in itself. You have potential to leave inspired but you're never left unsatisfied. Once you see it you'll understand why people are mad. Wonderful video! I did notice something while watching. We will not see any remnants from The Great Movie Ride. The entire inside was gutted out. Great job on everything else though! It was amazing! I also love your voice!
I'm not sure on that. From what I have seen and heard it looks like the Mickey Runaway Railway will use the same basic ride path of sorts. (somewhat given the new one is trackless). I'm sure the animatronics will show up elsewhere in Hollywood Studios as clever Easter Eggs at some point.
Andrew Taylor I agree with the animatronics and possibly props, but many Disney fan sites show video evidence and the photographic evidence as well. The only thing the actual remains from the attraction is the handprints made by cast members on one of the walls.
im really sad i never got to ride maelstrom before it became a frozen ride, frozen is so.. mediocre? bland? like i get frozen takes place in scandinavia but it feels so.. bluh.
If it's any consolation, Maelstrom was pretty mediocre too. The trolls were cool, but it didn't make narrative sense at all, and was more or less just and advertisement for Norway, including dumping you into a theatre to watch a movie about Norway (which for a time you couldn't avoid. Eventually they left the doors on the other side of the theatre open and you could pass right through.) Maelstrom will always be a more popular ride in death than it was in life, due to what it was replaced by. But I'll always miss you, Cruise Ship Director Mural Lady.
If you think Frozen is bland, I’d recommend looking up the Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson. It’s what Frozen is supposed to be based off of, and would have seen Elsa as a villain.
I wonder if they even gutted the ones from superstar limo or just put clothes over them. imagine you like cut open the monster hazmat suit for whatever reason and there’s just a weird creepy doll-like animatronic under there

I've only been there once, and that was in 2002. I remember standing in line for Alien Encounter, and then bolting the moment it started up with the Android animatronic. Autamatonophobia. There's a lot of places I couldn't visit because of it.
The Wizard of Bras sounds like some strange name for a film I ever heard. Also, its kinda fitting that the section that used to be that store is now where Rolly Crump's dedication is today. Perfectly fitting considering how risqué some of Crump's art was during his 1960s phase of Non-Disney art.
Yeah I remember as a kid when I went to DisneyWorld for the first time, there were certain parts of the park that seemed off, like locked entrances or a hallway blocked. I never understood it as a 13 year old, but now things are starting to make sense as an adult. Good info!
I found another tribute to the original journey into imagination. After the blast of explosion in the last scene where a bunch of figments sing one little spark, pay attention to the figment with the lyrics of the song and you’ll see the dream finder’s dream catcher Mobil.
The wizard of bras attraction sounds fascinating, although out of place in Disneyland. The historiography probably wasn't great given the time it existed. It would be a good fit and, in modern times, trustworthy in some kind of fashion or culture museum.
Oh my goodness, I absolutely LOVE this video!!! I feel extremely lucky to have so many memories of Disneyland in the 1990s, but I never went prior to that decade so it is very very cool to see these pieces of the past. I can't wait to have my husband watch this with me soon, so we can point things out to each other on our next trip!! Thank you!!!! #YesterworldAP
Wow, thank you for the kind words and Congrats as you are the first person to have noticed the Yesterworld hidden message for this episode!!! I made it harder to find in this video compared to the previous, and was beginning to think I made it far too difficult...If/When I start attaching these to Giveaways, if you can give me an address via private message or the email address in my "about" page, I will count this one!
Hey Michael, I've got a deal you can't refuse: what if we replaced mystic manor, Shanghai Disneyland's pirates of the Caribbean, the entirety of Tokyo Disney sea, ratatouille at Disneyland Paris, navi river journey and mission breakout with identical clones of golden dreams?
On your note on the missing submarines from 20,000 leagues under the sea- I think there's one in the Jules Verne area (by their 20,000 leagues under the sea and Journey to the Center of the Earth ride). If you look up some videos of the Mysterious Island area (specifically near a restaurant), you should be able to see it, it's right in plain view.
3:17 "Along with the original MouseRail". ...the original what? I thought I knew everything about Disney and couldn't be surprised by any new discoveries but that just did it. I've never heard of it before. I do remember it when it was painted up and in Rocket Rods but I just assumed it was the unused shell of a MarkV monorail. MouseRail? Would love to see a video that talks more about that one.
I've gone to Castaway Cay multiple times and I do have somewhat of a theory of what happened to the other 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea submarines. Castaway Cay is off the coast of Florida and is around the Nassau area, it's very prone to hurricanes. Almost a decade ago there was a pretty bad hurricane/tropical storm that passed through the island, this destroyed a lot of their water attractions including the Flying Dutchman from Pirates of the Caribbean, and most likely the submarines. In Classic Disney fashion they tried to cover the damage up by parking the pirate ship in the back of the island and letting it rot, this may have included the submarine. This may also explain why the other submarine was sunken for use for diving since it already looked like a wrecked mess. I got to dive the submarine and I have to say it's in terrible shape, however you could still see the inside where the guest used to sit!
If im not mistaken, in the past few months a new video has surfaced that shows pretty much everything from the top floor of journey into your imagination removed, including the sensory tunnel sign shown behind the grate in this video. It looks like the space is going to be redeveloped in the next year or so.
Yeah, Journey into Imagination seems more like the people just said "Hey, I have an idea! Lets write down the first things we think of, and then we'll pick the best ideas!" so they never really agreed that anything was a good idea and threw everything together lol

I laughed out loud multiple times watching this, I really like your editing and sense of humor! You just earned yourself a new subscriber :)
@@ReddFourBirds thats sad....
Stinky Gringo it is... go to WDW News Today to see what I mean 😢
A tragedy has happened... we just lost BackDoorDisney
im really sad i never got to ride maelstrom before it became a frozen ride, frozen is so.. mediocre? bland? like i get frozen takes place in scandinavia but it feels so.. bluh.
If it's any consolation, Maelstrom was pretty mediocre too. The trolls were cool, but it didn't make narrative sense at all, and was more or less just and advertisement for Norway, including dumping you into a theatre to watch a movie about Norway (which for a time you couldn't avoid. Eventually they left the doors on the other side of the theatre open and you could pass right through.)
Maelstrom will always be a more popular ride in death than it was in life, due to what it was replaced by. But I'll always miss you, Cruise Ship Director Mural Lady.
If you think Frozen is bland, I’d recommend looking up the Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson. It’s what Frozen is supposed to be based off of, and would have seen Elsa as a villain.
Frozen is (arguably) a good movie but got so over advertised that it got ruined
Some of these should of never been taken down or removed and I think it actually nice to look and see what was
I wonder if they even gutted the ones from superstar limo or just put clothes over them. imagine you like cut open the monster hazmat suit for whatever reason and there’s just a weird creepy doll-like animatronic under there
lmao "...turning what was once a magical experience, into Disney's worst attraction" ::Regis slides in:: "ok, ARGUABLY disney's worst attraction" ::Regis slides out::
There’s also a X-S tech reference in Guardians Mission Breakout, on The Collector’s desk, there’s a paper with the logo on it.
It's a really cool easter egg/tribute, I believe I mentioned it in a previous episode, here I was just trying to focus on "actual" remnants of past attractions
I've only been there once, and that was in 2002. I remember standing in line for Alien Encounter, and then bolting the moment it started up with the Android animatronic. Autamatonophobia. There's a lot of places I couldn't visit because of it.

Ah yes, I loved *M E A L S T R O M*

The Wizard of Bras had me dying
Love your videos. Maelstrom? Never heard of it. Disney trips, 64 ( I was 3) 73, 74, 2001. And took my kids in 2015.

LOL
that one got me.
Yeah I remember as a kid when I went to DisneyWorld for the first time, there were certain parts of the park that seemed off, like locked entrances or a hallway blocked. I never understood it as a 13 year old, but now things are starting to make sense as an adult. Good info!
12:30 You can also find an invoice from X-S Tech on Guardians Of The Galaxy: Mission Break Out.
Satisfying my inner Disnerd yet again! Thank you for the awesome video
GREAT VIDEO, YESTERWORLD! :D
I found another tribute to the original journey into imagination. After the blast of explosion in the last scene where a bunch of figments sing one little spark, pay attention to the figment with the lyrics of the song and you’ll see the dream finder’s dream catcher Mobil.
Happy Holidays, and Thank you so much
Love your content, makes my day everytime! But out of curiosity, what’s your favorite attraction at any Disney Park?
I laughed so hard at "bras" during the Wizard of Oz sequence...yes, I'm 5 XD
LOVE LOVE LOVE this video lol. Awesome job!
I noticed the Dinosaur ride vehicles still have a label of “CTX Rover” - as in Countdown To eXtinction - the original name of the ride.
I miss Superstar Limo
This is brilliant
Hey Michael, I've got a deal you can't refuse: what if we replaced mystic manor, Shanghai Disneyland's pirates of the Caribbean, the entirety of Tokyo Disney sea, ratatouille at Disneyland Paris, navi river journey and mission breakout with identical clones of golden dreams?
@@scrambled5948 If you do that, DISNEYLAND WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!!!
And as for you...
...don't even think about bringing it back.
Ryan fritsinger dude, It was just a joke.
Merry Christmas to us @ the bonus 5
Merry Christmas!
Now i get it where they came up with the whole concept and song with imagination land on that south park episode!
Yay early Christmas present!
More behind the scenes/animatronics/fascinating ride content please, thanks. Merry Christmas.
When are they gonna find Buzzy though???
I went on a Disney Cruise this past summer and saw the Nautilus that was put in Castaway Cay!
Make a part two of this video!!
I actually have a part 2 already in mind ;) Glad you liked it!
This is why I like Disney
Me when I first saw 12:37:oh cool Jurassic Park
Me now: HOW DARE YOU PUT YOUR FACE OVER THE ADORABLE JOE MAZZELLO
3:17 "Along with the original MouseRail". ...the original what? I thought I knew everything about Disney and couldn't be surprised by any new discoveries but that just did it. I've never heard of it before. I do remember it when it was painted up and in Rocket Rods but I just assumed it was the unused shell of a MarkV monorail. MouseRail? Would love to see a video that talks more about that one.
Your intro is so good
Love these extinct attractions videos!!!
I loved the skyway!
Epcot's MISSION: Space ride has a subtle hint to it's predecessor Horizons - it has the logo in one of the set pieces in the queue line
I’m happy we still have remnants.
If im not mistaken, in the past few months a new video has surfaced that shows pretty much everything from the top floor of journey into your imagination removed, including the sensory tunnel sign shown behind the grate in this video. It looks like the space is going to be redeveloped in the next year or so.
Love your videos! I find this kinda stuff super interesting 🙂
Hey I went snorkling to that submarine in Castaway Cay! There were lots of tiny fish in it.
3:06 That's Actually pretty cool.
I still can't get over the closer of tower of terror and the great movie ride
Yeah, Journey into Imagination seems more like the people just said "Hey, I have an idea! Lets write down the first things we think of, and then we'll pick the best ideas!" so they never really agreed that anything was a good idea and threw everything together lol
