I don't know why but The Stupids just came into my mind yesterday and I just had to find them. I can't believe I bought this 34 years ago, seems like it was only yesterday. Great band.
From a gig in Bristol in '88 - Tommy is being heckled a lot by various gits in the crowd... Heckler: Fat bastard! Girl's voice in crowd: I think he's quite nice ACTUALLY! Tommy: Thanks mum!
Had this, Van Stupid and Jesus Meets all on vinyl. Great stuff, like a skate punk Ramones and a Brit band doing it. Very different from the other Britcore bands around then.
I fell in HC love with The Stupids when I first picked up "Jesus Meets....." a long long time ago! I just love this old hardcore sound!!!!!!!! I love HC today but this old school sound just gets me goin lol
the album title and "killed by a cripple" probably wouldn't fly today, but what a great album. while every punk in the UK was dead in the 80s, these guys weren't. and they played better too. looking forward to seeing them live in 2 months.
Holy crap wasn’t even aware the Stupids still play. My dad was an old school punk moved from Argentina to Connecticut USA and loved the stupids and British crust and hardcore punk. He gave me his stupids pin. One can only hope and dream they one day gratify me with a US tour.
Sound of my teenage years, fucking loved this album to death as a 15 year old. Still sounds amazing all these years later. 38 years ago, shit. Dedicated to my mate Jed
yep totally Brian Baker type of sound... Values Here in particular. Funny enough both albums are from 1986, so I guess no one has copied from the other..

These guys were a breath of fresh air mid-80's. They were our drummers fave band (John March - Concrete Sox)...
Oh wow! I used to listen to Concrete Sox along with Heresy long-ass time ago. I agree, The Stupids had a lot of fun tunes
Thanks so much. Been way overdue for a good dose of the Stupids. Cheers

Oh, I strongly suspect that Dag Nasty got there first :-)
You mean aside from the Government Issue riff?
Puedo decir que fue una banda que hacía punk y resultaron sonando crossover, al estilo hardcore vieja escuela
