It was such a pleasure making this film and seeing it on DUST! If you have any questions about Freelancer let me know, I would love to answer whatever I can!
That really was Twilight Zone level and I mean that a a compliment. I did not see the twist coming haha
I had trouble hearing dialog over the music . Subtitles would be appreciated.
That was a shocker! And I felt so bad for her all that time. Poor Chase for trying to do the right thing 😢 11:38
Thank you very much Zach for sharing.
Zach things ❤ seeing once again and again ❤
Closed Captioning would have been helpful for those of us with hearing impairment.
More properly adjusted audio levels would’ve been appropriate. That’s the only criticism I have of this Other than that, GREAT FILM. Edited to add: Closed captioning should always be available.
I could not hear a word from his headphone-
Definitely. Needs subtitles.
Well that was a disturbing and completely believable extrapolation of how healthcare is in the U.S. right now.
A classic twist, expertly hidden. Congratulations to all involved.
Cool short film. Acting was good, cinema good, sound track good, story line good. My only complaint, is the audio. Tell Mr. Hemming that he needs to balance the background audio with the foreground audio so the audience can hear whoever is speaking in the ear piece.
I’ll wait for the subtitles. It’s like a foreign language every second word.
Me too. I look forward to viewing this when I can follow the dialogue.
Wow! I felt so bad for him. He was only looking out for her. That was a horrible thing for her to do! Trusting another human was his first mistake unfortunately 😢
Please turn the 'music' up more so it can completely drown out the dialogue.
Dystopian corporate health care and their methods to remain omnipotent. Menacing possibility.
Sadly without subtitles. :(
It looks really good. I wish I knew what they were saying.
Please consider your audience members who are hard of hearing.
RUclips will automatically subtitle if you let it.
Yep. Couldn't hear half.
Agree, my hearing aides were not sufficient.
It would be nice if Sound Engineers would sit in an ordinary living room environment and listen on speakers vs impressing THEMSELVES with how it sounds on $1,000 headphones.
No, the reason there are no subtitles is because youtube can't automatically generate them when the sound is so horrible crappy and the dialogue is incomprehensible! Very bad production. Not worth bothering trying to figure out what they are saying. It's a failure.
@@williamboston309 I know. I'm half blind and usually just go along with it. Good premise. Reminds me of Repo Men.
I think I got the overall story, but for a non-native speaker it would really help if there were subtitles
WOW! Extereme! Thats the COLD reality of Entrapment! Well DONE Film Maker! BRAVO BRAVO!!!
I didn't understand half of the words they said. Background hum is too loud - at 4:50 it goes away a bit and I can even understand the lady though the phone.
Disgustingly current. This is probably happening right now. Thanks for the short.
Wow, very powerful.
I love the new healthcare technology, so efficient.
Grrrrr, I hope their comeuppance comes soon for that dirty trick.
Excellent flick no doubt 🙂!
(Kudos to the writer for the story 👏.)
Shaking my head with a smirking grin......
Congratulations to Zach Ramelan, to Neal Schneider, to Alexander Oliver and to Jaspreet Saund. The tension increases as the short film progresses. The music and scenery are adequate. The atmosphere is gloomy and cold, the atmosphere is unbreathable. The communications between Chase and Jenifer reflect how what is supposed to be a guiding tool can be a submission control tool. Both play the role divinely, communications between the two can become overwhelming. Wishing the viewer that the Freelancer focuses on what is really important. I agree! great performance LEE LAWSON.
WOOOO! That was amazing to hear. Thank you so much @ThaskA
@@ZachRamelan You are wellcome Zach but the most amazing thing is to realize the picture was an other tool to manipulate, little but great details. Congratulations director 😊.
@@ZachRamelan I'm the huge fan of Alexander Oliver 😔 it's like my last wish to reach at him.
My all-time favorite Zach Ramelan flick. Practically flawless. His work never ceases to amaze me! 😎
With increasing government/elite control of our choices and chances to advance in society, we draw closer to this dystopia.
Always good to see a preview of the future that's been planned for everyone through the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
This is the world we live in right now.
No captions available. 😞
My ears are far less than perfect. I could mostly understand the young man, the girl might as well have been mumbling a foreign language. I don't doubt that her elocution is fine, but when the receiving equipment has over 70 years of wear and tear, it does make a difference. I really do count on subtitles as a literal crutch to my hearing.
Brilliant description of employee motivation and control… brutal and accurate
Good story but the music and noise is way too loud so I could not understand half the dialog. fancy music does not make a film.
I had no difficulty hearing and understanding the actors. I'm not sure if other people were listening on phones or other devices with limited-range speakers.
I was watching on my phone and had no difficulty understanding what was being said, and I'm dealing with 70-year-old hearing too.
Lighting WAS a bit dark (it's DUST, so everything is going to be dark, depressing and dystopian anyway) but not so much that the action couldn't be followed.
This was extremely well made. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Very unfortunate to not have subtitles
Damn! That was chilling. No good deed goes unpunished. Great video! Thanks to the team.
Perfection of the gig economy. The corporation is always right.
Very well done, didn't see the ending coming.
We need a full version !!
Would have been good if the lose music was off and the voices could be heard. It was all in dark and have no idea what in hell went on.
It will help tons if closed caption was available. Understanding the operator was almost impossible. C'mon DUST!
Yes, I had the same problem.
very nice film. Lead actor was so good. Very unsettling film.
definitely top 5 I have seen on dust.
good but very depressing twist at the end
A terrifying close future ...
Wow! What a setup just to get her employeement benifits and promotions
Don't worry.. it is safe and eff3ctiv3 !
Just like the covid Vax ! Emphasis on effective ! Well, maybe after 4 - 6 shots ? 🙄
Great storyline. This could be a tremendous full-length suspense/Si-Fi film.
Excellent production, production values and story! Cheers also for the music, the ways it was edited in and the varied use of motif!
I am a deaf viewer and without subtitles I have no idea what they are talking about.
Very good film. Love the camera work. Did not see the twist coming at all! Great work!
Well, this worked on some levels, at least. I hated the patient's guts. Trolling people's empathy. There's a concept.
This movie was terrifying to me.. The medical profession, is the most frightening monster .. imo/ experience.😷✍️
What happened to the lighting. This film is soooooooo dark I couldn't see what was going on. I hope that this issue is corrected in your next video.
Other than that, it was well done.
Such a legendary talent .. To bring short films so frequently. . 🤯🤯🤯
Really well made . What a Nasty Premise .
I'll check back later to see if there are subtitles, because I can't understand most of the dialog.
How long for the subtitles? Maybe a month it seems.
It's been a month, and still no subtitles.
DAMN!! That was gooood.
A great beginning, middle, and most importantly ENDING. This was a very entertaining short. I feel bad for the guy.
Yeah....I have to say I did not expect that will twisteroo at the end there......very good. This is definitely one of the better shorts I have seen,....and I have seen hundreds of them online...I would put this in my Top 40.....I would make my best guess that I have seen at least 300 shorts online....probably quite a few more....
Wow … just wow
WOW! Feels like something out of Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Amazing job Zach and Team!
wow this was deep. very well done, I loved the characters and acting, setting, all of it!
when your job poses a moral and ethical dilemma what can you do but side with the human issue? rules and corporations be damned
Certified Gold!!!!!
wow that was just too damn good to only be a short film
This was very good.and also very disturbing,a reflection of what the world is coming to.
Had a very real vibe. Outstanding.
So good.
That was a critical dilemma, well played.
WONDERFUL!
Yeah, that was good. I did not see that twist coming!
I had difficulty hearing what was being said.
Okay. A general complaint about a LOT of these short films I'm seeing here lately. I know the filmmakers want to give their films a 'gloomy', 'dismal', and 'depressing' feel. But that does NOT mean that every single scene has to be badly lit! It's bad enough that too often the sound levels are so low and muddled that I have to turn on the captioning, but when I cannot SEE what is going on, I'm not going to waste my time trying to squint to make out what's happening. And by the way, it IS possible to have a scene at night that is properly lit! See, for example, "The Blob" (1958). The entire movie takes place at night, and a lot of scenes are outdoors. Yet every single scene is properly lighted. Even in the dark movie theater, you can see what's going on.
Here, if I'm a paramedic treating a woman in her apartment, I'm going to need to turn the lights on so I can see the extent of her injuries and make damned sure I'm giving her the right medications. Operating rooms and doctor's offices aren't lit by candlelight, right?
That was a twisted ending. Very well done, but the audio was a bit hard to hear. I got the general gist of the concept, but some of the interactive conversation with corporate was lost in the audio. But as for him trying to do the right thing, only to get busted for daring to go outside approved protocol, with this woman agent acting ill just to entrap him, yeah, I could see that happening, in a not too distant future (current day China comes to mind).
Wow, super creepy. Is this our future with Healthcare being a for profit business? Brings up a lot of disturbing issues and questions. Very very well done and relevant to everyone’s reality, unless you live in a non democratic society which means you are lucky if you get any kinda healthcare at all.
Healthcare has always been a for profit business in democratic societies. Socialist health care works .
subtitles please
It's been a month, and still no subtitles. The probability of my remembering to ever check back again is very low, so I guess I will never have the opportunity to enjoy this story.
This is good!
Nice
Wooh that was awesome. Well done all involved.
Young white guy being victimized by women the story of my life. Somehow at age 70 I enjoy watching stories where this sort of thing takes place. Certainly many young victims in the Ukraine now obviously many powerful people go way out of their way to horribly victimized young men? Great young actor I hope he has great success.
Trust and AI machines don’t fit together. However we all learn about the coming future!
Close caption or subtitles was def needed on this one.
I was trying to put the CC option cuz they speak a bit too fast using terms I don't comprehend, specifically when she dropped the act and explained what happened. So what did she say? I tried to rewatch it and put the volume up but is hard to understand some bits and pieces.
Ouch! Fantastic execution. Well done.
The Bureaucrat Plague - 21st Century Dept.
(worst plague ever)
One of the best! Keep up the good work!
Bad sound. Unclear speach. No subtitles. 3 minutes was plenty for me...
Poor sound, no subtitles. Made it very difficult to get the whole experience.
on the future, people will feed on .... people....
No, the reason there are no subtitles is because youtube can't automatically generate them when the sound is so horrible crappy and the dialogue is incomprehensible! Very bad production. Not worth bothering trying to figure out what they are saying. It's a failure.
And filmed with nil lighting and bad low-quality camera ... dark grainy video which makes it difficult to see anything clearly. Bad.
Great short
Can't understand the dialoged for the overpowering audio background. At least add subtitles...?
English subtitle pls...
Awesome job!
Can we get some subtitles with this to make it understandable?
I couldn't comprehend any dialog. I heard it but the audio was so messed up I couldn't understand anyone.
Well now,,, that was??? thoroughly creepy...
Great, other if they can fix the audio it would be so much better
They should rename this one Entrapment.
Thanks (But gon't forget automatic translation please.)
I need subtitles, the audio in spots I just couldnt hear.
So was he arrested for using the needle? And she is going to possibly die as she didnt get proper treatment?
Closed Captioning please
What if...Uber ran our health care system.
Couldn't understand half of the audio.
Loved the video, acting, plot, etc., except for the barely audible audio! Her voice, and the voice in his earpiece was almost imperceptable which really hurt the overall quality of the film.
💛❣.
Not everyone has perfect hearing. Raise dialog or lower music.
