My mom was scammed. She sent $50000 cash. Fortunately she called you right after dropping the package off at UPS and you was able to retrieve it after it left the bill. These people are the lowest of the low, what you and your team is doing is a real blessing. THANK YOU *STRONG WIDGET* !
P.S. my mom's had several scam calls since, but now she enjoys playing with them....hoping she'll get more calls. Maybe she'll join you someday in the People's Center...

Yep. She will expect her children to “take care of her.” Reminds me of my Mom three MONTHS after Dad died she is talking about some guy in Church. My Mom was 80 then, and she said “I think his Mother is interfering.” That’s when I said, “His MOTHER?” I was wondering how old his Mother was! Then I found out he was 52, one year older than I was. I just shook my head. Then I said, “Listen, if this guy takes all your money, don’t call me okay?” Because I’d already had extradited her out of MANY situations. And Mom had already told me the money she got after Dad died was HERS. She was acting like a little kid with it. Still expected me to come “help her out.”

The romance scammers always have a story about some emergency that comes up while they're "away working in a foreign country". Supposedly they are earning huge amounts of money, but they can't access it yet for one reason or another. They need money "for taxes" or for an unexpected medical calamity that has come up, or airfare to get them back to the U.S. Then, they claim, they will marry the victim and they will have plenty of money and live happily ever after. 🙄
There are some great videos about romance scams on the "Social Catfish" channel here. There is no shortage of lonely victims falling for them.

You kill the enemy with truth suffocating his lies and all narratives that are misleading to the people. For example, many can possibly relate to these stories but not, all love crimes happen through internet connections. Some people meet face to face and still end up in the same situation. Some relationships just don’t work out and that’s ok. However, it’s not ok to scam anyone for selfish gain. It’s pure evil.

However, lonely people are vulnerable, and they’ll believe the fantasy for a chance at companionship. If somebody loses a partner through death or divorce, that person should go to counseling to deal with the loss and learn how to be content in their own company so they don’t easily fall for this.

You should go on vacation to meet single old people like you. Do volunteer work. Go to church frequently. Walk to get some exercise 3 x a week

Yes - there are others out there who would love to have a friend to walk with, share a meal with - in REAL LIFE.😎

I can't even imagine being so desperate for love and naive and needy that you could send money to man you haven't meant or talked to in person! 😳

These scams with elderly people are just sad. The police will probably never catch the guy because he’s using a fake identity and a burner phone. Difficult to trace. Don’t get involved with anybody over the internet, period.

Unbelievable that there are so many people like this! The last thing I want is a lonely man who needs me to be a companion, maid, nurse, and housekeeper for him. If someone is that lonely, they need to wise up and get a pet, join a group, take classes, learn a new hobby, volunteer, pamper themselves, learn new things or skills, read... It baffles me that mature people have gone through that much living and learned nothing about the human race. Scams and Cons have been around as long as there were people!
You can't buy love this way so quit trying to help strangers with money! I also wonder how much greed there is on the part of the victim when they do this because they are shown documents that the scammer has a lot of money! It isn't just that they think they will get their loan back. Think that if they are that needy for your financial help, how irresponsible are they in managing their money?
Chat online with people all you want, but make it clear that you will not be sending any money - ever, and stick with it.

True, it feeds into their own greediness. She could have volunteered at the local chapter of Disabled Veterans and found plenty of company at no charge.
