The Eu is just as Democratic if not slightly more so than the UK. Allow me to explain please.
1) The EU Parliament is wholly elected by the citizens of EUmember states
2) The EU Commission is appointed by EU member states
3 The EU President is appointed by the Commission.
The EU Parliament can and has dissolved the commission before and so has over all the ultimate power. The EU Parliament is elected by the people of EU member states, as I’ve said.
For the UK
1) The Commons is elected totally BUT on a First Past The Post (FPTP) system. This means that an MP can win his/her seat with less than 50% of all votes cast and in fact EVERY government since the Second World War has achieved LESS THAN 50.1% of all votes cast.
2) The House of Lords is totally unelected and indeed our current Foreign Secretary is the unelected former PM David Cameron.
3) The UKs Head Of State is King Charles 3. He became our Head Of State the instant his mother (Queen Elizebeth 2) died. No one, not even the Prime Minister appointed him to be Head Of State. Charles got the job because of who his mother was.
