  • This toaster oven we had purchased for the outdoor cabana at Bed Bath & Beyond. Fully mechanical control. It does toasting, baking, and broiling. The convection fan inside operates in Bake mode. It has two separate mode timers which is cool and probably the first time I had seen such a thing, and each with its own bell which is really nice!
    For demonstration, it will toast bread. I forget to show the bread's other side when toasted, but I can tell you that it will be a little less toasted than the top, and will have lighter lines for the part of the bread that is in contact with the rack. But still, I am very satisfied with the results.

    Thank you! I knew there was something tricky about putting that crumb tray back in but I forgot that it was that you have to close the door first. I don’t think I ever would’ve remembered that that’s how you get it back in if I hadn’t heard you say that on this video. You made my day!

    Awesome video! Had this same convection toaster for a while and it's super worth the money. The crumb tray was the middle sized tray you took out. You can slide it under the grill to catch any toast crumbs so as not to dirty up the heating elements. The floor tray is a back up in case some crumbs fall on the sides. Thanks for sharing.

    thanks for the review! No one is mentioning on the reviews for this model that it is PFOA and PTFE free (Non Stick Free). Very VERY few companies are free of this toxin that can kill birds when heated above 450 F. Even the company doesn't market this and I had to come here to be assured from your review that everything is stainless. So thanks! Just purchased after watching this (a slightly newer model with different dials, but same thing) We are a Breville household and you just saved me $400 bucks (all Breville ovens are PTFE coated on the inside).

    I’m pretty sure those are quartz elements. My Breville has them. They heat up and cool down faster than traditional nichrome elements, and tend to give better heat control and cooking results as well. Nice to see a good, old-style toaster oven with mechanical controls!

  • @jaykay18
    @jaykay18 4 года назад

    That'd be a plain old toaster oven if I ever did see one, and it'll do just fine. I wouldn't rely on the toast darkness icons, because once the first batch is done, if you reset to the same spot it will be darker since the oven is up to temp already. So basically the main thing is you just gotta watch your stuff and make sure it doesn't burn, when toasting something, because it goes from nicely golden to burnt in a matter of 3 seconds.

    • @Sharkie626
      @Sharkie626  4 года назад

      It is nice and simple! I had actually thought about that scenario. But you can actually fit about 4 slices in there, and I can't really think of a situation here where it would be used again soon after something was toasted.

    Thanks for a nice informative review. I've been looking at this model and think I will purchase. The only thing that confuses me is the instruction be;pw the second knob that says "Rotate knob past 20 and middle toast then set to desired setting." What do you think that means?

    • @Sharkie626
      @Sharkie626  3 года назад +3

      That's just because mechanical times won't respond correctly to a short setting unless they get a good turn on them first. But overall they work great!
