I loved these guys. Didn't know they were an actual spinoff of Transformers at first until about two years later when a bad dub of Headmasters aired on some no-name UHF channel and there was an episode dedicated to them.
We only had series 1, years later when I learned there were 3 more series I was shocked by how many Battle Beast I had never seen before. I played with the series 1 for half of my childhood!
There has been a reboot of this, it is now called Beast Saga and along with it’s own Anime, it also has new toys with dice that you can launch out of there chest.
I was pretty young but I remember loving these and having a bunch of them. They were simple and cheap enough. It was fun to match off when you saw another kid with one.
I could see one good thing about getting the deer playset that doesn't come with the deer and that's if you already have the deer. Of course, it was most likely a ploy to get you to buy two products instead of just one, lol.
Full disclosure, I don't normally follow your content too well, but its great to see you're still passionate about showing people the past as the Irate Gamer, ever since I first heard about you in middle school back in like 2008 or something. Keep it up.
Its so cool to see you more active again. I don't know how it's remained unchanged all these years but yeah love it. Irate the 80s & Irate Gamer. I never felt you got enough credit for this series in particular. I mean you ate 30+ year old cereal for clicks... Haha
That collection you have is awesome! Pretty fun take on the narration. I still have a handful of these guys from my childhood. They were super fun to play with and collect along with M.U.S.C.L.E. However they get quite pricey to collect for too.
I was born the same year as Battle Beasts, but my brother and cousin had a number of them. I loved playing with them, along with Z-Bots, Snailiens, etc.
Fantastic episode. I think I've seen some of these characters appear in the infamous "Transformers Headmasters" series (saw fellow RUclipsr Phelous do a list on that series), where "Pirate Lion" was given the unfortunate name of "General Sheep". lol But in all seriousness this look like a cool toyline for the time. Kind of predating "Transformers Beast Wars" with the animal cyborg concept (even though that didn't transform). Also the fact that the animal themed vehicles came with different animals is kind of interesting, hopefully kids had the appropriate animals when they got those. :)
Wow, that was an awesome irate the 80s video. I can’t wait to see more irate the 80s videos for you someday can you definitely make a updated TMNT video?
Poor man's fire fortress is missing the wings :-( Had a lot of these back in the day, hard to beat the 2-figure packs and the series three packs with several figures included.
I remember these things. Talk about the power of advertising! I remember the commercials seeming so cool! Once you had a pack or two of these things, you realize the only cool thing about them is the color change sticker on the chest, and a lot of the time those seemed to not work anymore after awhile. Probably from getting them wet. What kid didn't throw these in water? They didn't do anything but freaking stand there. No articulation! Come to think of it, there were a lot of figures back then that had a cool commercial, a cool sticker or hologram, and no articulation, but everyone at school had them for a couple of weeks.
Great video Chris.... You should also do a video about Mattel's G.U.T.S. figurines, vehicles & playsets as well... Or a video about Milton Bradley's Fireball Island board game....
I member these. Hasbro is literally leaving money on the table by not bringing this back. Bring these back alongside a cool cartoon and kids would throw their pokemon cards in the trash.
Can we call this a ''Nostalgic Overload''?
These were/are under rated.
It’s great to see irate the 80s back

I love how these are canon to the Transformers world in Japan.

Hell yes! Love this series!
Loved battle beasts as a kid. Still got many of them, all packed away in the Loft.
i had a handful of those. Loved the little details.
There has been a reboot of this, it is now called Beast Saga and along with it’s own Anime, it also has new toys with dice that you can launch out of there chest.
Back in the day I only had 1 of these but I always wanted to have tons of them. Ebay here I come lol
They can get crazy expensive now.
Omg!
Between my two older brothers I think they used to own the whole collection! 😅❤❤
My brother and I had a bunch of the Series 2 figures! SO much nostalgia!
I was pretty young but I remember loving these and having a bunch of them. They were simple and cheap enough. It was fun to match off when you saw another kid with one.
Great to see the Battle Beast get some nostalgic love , I absolutely loved these growing up
I forgot about these! Thanks for the memory boost! 😊

I really like these History of the 80s Toys Videos I'm glad to see more
Loved these toys as a kid and collected them like crazy

Hi Chris, long time fan, could you talk a little about what inspired you to narrate this video in an Asian Dracula persona?
I was going for a d&d dungeon master lol. Idk. Just wanted to shake things up
another awesome irate the 80s episode!
They even appeared in the Transformers cartoon…. But only in the Japanese seasons.

I couldn't tell you which ones I had, but I know I had plenty. I loved them!
These are pretty neat! We had something similar growing up in the early 2000's if I recall correctly.
I was born the same year as Battle Beasts, but my brother and cousin had a number of them. I loved playing with them, along with Z-Bots, Snailiens, etc.
Brother cousin? How does that work
@@jessespringer7723 *brother AND cousin lol
@@Randomark3087 sorry

Battle Beasts was so fun! Epic sauce!
I actually never heard of battle beasts. So cool!
I had a few of these when I was younger!!! I'll be damned if I can remember which ones though....
I still have a few of those, my original ones
i totally forgot about these, i did have a few of them but i don't remember which ones, sad i know
Poor man's fire fortress is missing the wings :-( Had a lot of these back in the day, hard to beat the 2-figure packs and the series three packs with several figures included.
I totally forgot about these. 😮😀😀😀😀
2:16 Ernie cameo from Sesame Street. Funny Ernie impression
These toys got some cool designs!
Good "old" RUclips-Vibes 🥰
I loved battle beasts when I was little. Of course there was muscle just before it but then later on came army ants and guts.
I remember these things. Talk about the power of advertising! I remember the commercials seeming so cool! I still have the laserbeast bug. The one on the far right, the yellow and red one.
The premise is pretty cool.
Dang I had these. And also army ants, food fighters, and computer warriors.....
I wish I still had mine. But I still drive around in my RAV4 with a couple of ZBots.
The tale of the Battle Beasts is more grand than the epic of Gilgamesh.
I have them all! (except the laser line)
YES!
Great video Chris....
You should also do a video about Mattel's G.U.T.S. figurines, vehicles & playsets as well...
Or a video about Milton Bradley's Fireball Island board game....
Great suggestions
Where can we get the Irate gamer season collection?
At first I thought these toys are related to Battle Beast game on PC.
Have you ever played EarthBound? It’s probably one of the greatest SNES games of all time, alongside Super Metroid and A Link to the Past.
I'm sure he has
i had 2 of those but i cant remember what ones
Is there any chance for longer videos in the future? Like around 10 minutes?
I did enjoy that the video was short.
I don't think it was supposed to be a video essay
@@Poodleinacan totally agree, I didn’t mean this video had to be longer, just if there were longer videos coming in the future.
I think indy pt 2 is around that long. And the adult nes games pt 2 will be 10 min
Wat y’all think on. His voice sound ok 2:00
Strange, I don't think I've ever seen these. Maybe just in a pile at goodwill or something.
Did you buy all these in lots, or were they your childhood ones. I only own 8 of these.
Ha I forgot about these.
0:16 - Metatron's theme!!!!
Dude I have all of them lol
I member these. Hasbro is literally leaving money on the table by not bringing this back. Bring these back alongside a cool cartoon and kids would throw their pokemon cards in the trash.
Agreed
Who think voice is ok
What is accent?
It's a good video, but why is Chris narrating with a fake Irish accent?😅
I don't remember those at all.
