Loved this one: Has to be one of the best demonstrations of dynamic weather and terrain assessment, plus the discipline to stick to safe operating procedures. I didn't think I had enough time to watch the whole video first time round, but I couldn't stop watching.

I sometimes imagine an old time WWII fighter pilot suddenly appearing in your cockpit, in the right seat looking eyes wide towards all of those color screens.
Imagine further, you suddenly finding yourself in a P-40. What enormous progress we have made. At least we still have pilots up front, for the time being.
Always will have human pilots ask the fly by wire pilots like Airbus a380 lol 🤣
I figure that even if we get fully automatic passenger planes/drones the craft servicing these types of areas will be the ones manned the longest.

I'm from PNG and it still amazes me how places like Yawan are only a few minutes by air from a major airport like Nadzab, but it would take days of walking. My favorite part of the whole video was the timelapse at the end, when you crossed the Ramu valley in about 3 seconds, went back into clouds, and then broke out of the clouds really low over the Bena Gap (or whatever gap that was)

Truth is that I have not really any grasp of just what a high degree of accomplishment I'm watching. I suspect that even other pilots with quite long careers in aviation have never encountered such challenges. I can confidently say that these are skills I couldn't master in a lifetime. You do this as a lone pilot? I take my hat off.
Bush pilots have to be the best, and you are one of them.
