Great processing Adam, though I was totally lost. But that’s why I’m here to learn from the best. I had no idea where those images were going to go, since they were each different…but low and behold you did it….thanks again Adam
Thanks Adam for this inspiring and educational video. The step by step approach, makes this video to “an easy and understandable short Masterclass”. Thanks for sharing!
Yet another great video from Adam. I am a PS newbie so I may try this technique with just two or maybe three images which also happen to be seascapes. Adam thanks so much!!!
Great technique, thank you for sharing. Obviously I got confused after about 2 minutes of mixing layers 😁 but I'm going to practice until I get it right. I love the final image 🤩
Exceptional video showing one how much there is to learn to keep improving one's skill set. Great pace and detail throughout this tutorial. Thank you so much...will try on a 2-3 image set and experiment on what was presented. Thanks Adam!
Very Cool. I'm not yet up to working with 5 layers at a time, I just lose any concept of which mask effects which layer and what I'm trying to bring out of each layer. 2 or 3 is my max right now, then adding additional layers 1 at a time after that. But hopefully, practice will make perfect.
I don't know why, but it's such a cathartic experience brushing on a mask and seeing the details come through. It's similar to the days of film and the satisfaction of dropping a print in the developer and watching the image come to life.
Another great video Adam. I've been experimenting with this technique with seascapes over the past year, and really like the results. The big challenge, as you highlight, is keeping track of which parts of each layer you want to use! So far, I've not tried drawing on more than 3-4 layers... All the best for the holiday season.
Great shots and processing - for me I found the stream of water into the right bottom part of the frame broke the symmetry of the rocks - and interrupted the framing effect - Just personal taste
A bit of a complicated process. Requiring patience as well as organization, I would guess. Love the explanation. I think I have a few wave photos from the OR coast I could apply this to. Thanks!! Merry Christmas 🎄!
I use Affinity Photo, not Photoshop, but the exact same principles (indeed, often the same key shortcuts) apply nonetheless. I know the basic techniques, but it's nice tor see them demonstrated in a real context.
Exactly the vid I've been needing to see . I've tried before but got totally confused with order/ layers I was brushing in . Great vid , all the best and Merry Christmas ✌
Once again, nice work Adam. This is what I like because I always see something I never thought about doing. I must say that I kind of miss the black background; it sort of bring out the finished shot better! Other than that, this is a great job my friend. Peace!
Is there a reason you use both Lumenzia & TK? My understanding is they both do the same thing, but you're not the first I've seen do this. Since I already use TK, is there a benefit to adding Lumenzia into the workflow?
Hi Adam - Happy Holidays! You've been using the FujiFilm GFX 100 for a while now. The 100 megapixel files must be taxing on computer hardware. What, if any upgrades did you have to make to your computer in order to process the GFX 100 files reasonably quickly? What are the recommendations for RAM, video card and processor if someone was thinking of purchasing a 100 megapixel camera? (Have you thought about doing a RUclips video on this topic?)
Happy holidays! well I am currently using an imac, 3.8ghz 8 core intel Core i7, 72GB 2133 MHz DDR4, AMD Radeon Pro 5700XT GB card. I've had the computer for a year or so. It seems to handle the files well although the M1 or 2 chipped Macs are a little easier. Hope that helps? I probably will not do a video on computers because I know very little about them.
@@QuietLightPhoto Interesting in that i am also wanting to purchase that M1 chip 24 inch Apple iMac, for reasons that the intel is now dead in the Apples head as they have more than managed to supersede it by some margin, allegedly so🤑
While it can be fun to play with layers for creating a photograph that contains that extra oomph, is it becoming graphics? rather than photography in which, its soul intent is to record a moment in time. Not on a witch hunt but just an observation as i always like the fact that you expose for the best possible outcome and very lightly edit most of your photographs which i enjoy so much and have learned so much. Merry Christmas to you and all belonging. Best of luck Mark
I think as long as people are very clear about what was done to create an image, you can do what you want for fun/creative effects. Music is often a combination of several takes combined into a finished piece, not just one live performance. I agree in that the more manipulated an image is, the more artificial it is so it lessens the impact
I agree! And I still believe that good photography comes from understanding light, composition and some knowledge of the subject that you’re photographing. Once understood the sky is the limit and I wouldn’t close my mind to any way of doing things differently even it is only to help with you’re own creativity. As I mentioned I dont combine images very often but sometimes I enjoy the process.
@@QuietLightPhoto I dont do brush work very often so I got myself a small cheap one. Once you get used to it, it is quite nice. I would recommend at least trying one.
I feel so much disturbed by the light theme in your photoshop. Perhaps you used to it but it is bugging my eye. :P Otherwise really nice photo and video Adam.
Great video Sir! I just had a quick question. I noticed you were using Fill option for the brush a lot vs. Opacity. Any reason for that or is it just a personal preference?
Great tutorial. Beautiful image! Thank you!!
Thanks Adam, i really like watching blending videos!
thanks so much - very helpful stuff!
This is a great video Adam for demonstrating how to blend layers 😀
Good process. Thanks.
Wow looks complicated. Might just give it a go, using affinity photo. Excellent video

This is awesome! More tips like this please
Thank you Adam, I quite like the technique, I'm starting to get a working knowledge of photoshop and see how it can unlock the potential of my images.
outstanding tutorial love to see more, Merry Xmas
Good stuff again Adam love the image too !
👍👍👍love your editing videos!
Thank you!! 😁
Great content. Really appreciated that explanation of how you blend images.
Thanks for this. I’m about to edit last month’s shots from the Carmel area. Will have to try this procedure.
Great processing, Adam. Thank you for bringing in some PS Stuff.
I enjoyed seeing do and edit with Photoshop.
Thanks for sharing your workflow!

I found a new drinking game! Every time Adam says "every so slightly," you take a shot! Just giving ya a hard time Adam. Great video
Heehee, drunk processing, that'll make for some interesting images!! 😂😵💫
And finish your drink if he says ‘a tad’ ?
If I were Adam, I would be offended by your comment...but only ever so slightly.
@@davidletz9123 No offence intended at all. Quite the opposite- big fan of Adam Gibbs videos and photography

Nicely done Adam. Thank you for another great year. All the best to you and yours for a happy new year.
Happy new year!

No not at this time, thanks!
