Randy, thank you so much for taking the time to do such a thorough evaluation and demo of the 208. We are so glad you enjoyed it!!
Thank you! Also thanks for being innovative. It’s refreshing :)
What a great overview. You covered everything I could ever want to know about this mic. Except for how it sounds on a dog eating a banana… which is valuable to know.
Oh crap, it’s too late to edit this, but you’re totally right. Maybe Lauten Audio has some videos on their website.
Wow! Good and thorough review with so.much.editing going into it; well done, man! Keep up the grrrreat work! 🙏🏼♥️
Hey thanks so much!! This was definitely the most I’ve put into a video, so I appreciate that you noticed :) 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great video! Really love how you tried the mic in a full production.
Thanks my dude!! :)
👏🏻👏🏻
love the demo you made with your wife! Can you please make a review of cheaper microphones for noobs like me? $100~$200 and below $100
For sure! My top pick in this range is probably the Rode NT1 5th gen, or Sennheiser Profile USB (depending on your needs)
What a good video, I am between choosing the Lauten and the Sony C80, which would be better to record voices, guitars in an untreated room acoustically?
I don’t have any experience with a c80, but I am wildly impressed with the versatility of this Lauten mic! As long as both are cardioid, they will function nearly identically in untreated spaces.
Oh my goodness. I was thinking of getting one of these two mics for the same reasons😂 guitar and vocals in an untreated room haha. I don’t know which one to get
I know you mentioned its intended to be on a stand, but i still wanna know, how does do with handling noise? Could it be used hand held? And how does it handle vibrations on the stand (like if i bump the mic stand)
Oh great question. That will be in another video for sure! 👍🏻
hey Randy, can you please make a review on Hollyland lark M2, I've seen many videos but still confused ,should i get it or not, thanks love from INDIA
I have one on the Lark Max, but not the Lark M2 sorry!
Sound quality is only one part of a mic. The huge selling point for me is the internal shock mount. There’s lots of LDC’s you wouldn’t want to hand hold but I think you can on this one, right?
Interesting question! I haven’t tried myself, but I move my boom arm without any significant noises. Between the internal shock, external shock, and a nice boom arm, it’s near silent
Very interesting, as always. How does the Lauten's cost compare to that of similar microphones from other manufacturers?
It’s definitely a premium product. I believe it’s around $550 USD at the time of this video. I think it’s absolutely worth the money. To be candid, there aren’t a lot of competitors in this space (front-address condenser designed with broadcast audio in mind). I think a lot of people will compare it against the SM7b because of the form factor, which is fair, and in which I think this mic greatly outperforms. I’d like to shoot it out against other condenser mics in future vids. It’s certainly an interesting option.
@@randyrektor The closest thing I could think of this style would be the Rode Broadcaster, which is an end address condenser of this style.
Ahhh yes solid point!
Sm7B is the king. My Lord!
I do love the SM7b, but I also believe it’s wildly overhyped for what it does. I think there are a lot of mics out there that offer more features with better sound quality.. especially for the price. But good on them for riding the streaming/podcast hype! Cant blame em :P
@@randyrektor like a famous singer, you often hear her, you will love her.
If I buy a new microphone, I will buy sm7b because it will help me to get more subscribers.
About Lauten Audio LS208 is the sound the same as sm7b??? If they are the same 100% maybe I buy Lauten Audio LS208 too.
Would you say that this mic could be used with the Audio EVO 4?
Oh yeah! The Evo 4 is great!
is the rode psa1 microphone stand compatible with this mic?
Should be! This mic comes with a standard microphone thread, as well as the smaller thread adapter, so you should be all set!
