"Being bored is actually a privilege" Wow I never thought about it that way and it makes perfect sense.
Yup!
I don’t believe in being “bored” at this age: there’s ALWAYS something constructive I should be doing.
It's learning how to cook, getting back into a hobby that I love, photography, online courses, and getting outside of my neighborhood.
By the way, I am 63 and my motto is "keep an open mind, idleness is not an option."
That is awesome!
O.G. you are so right about being bored is a privilege. Being busy doesn’t give you that luxury. Great work my man and salute
💯
I've definitely tried to start reading again and using some apps thst are actually teaching me things like a new language and programming. Gratitude, meditation and prayer time are great too when bored.
Indeed!
I enjoy cooking and I've been told I'm decent at it. Sometimes I'll look up recipes of things I'm in the mood for and you can put your own spices and variations to what you like.
Thanks O.G. You been on a roll this summer!!
Thanks my guy!
Solid advice, Jeff. I especially want to hammer home the importance of cooking for ourselves. No matter who we are, as adults, there is no excuse for us not knowing how to cook for ourselves. It’s a basic life skill. In fact, two of the best gifts I ever got were a nice rice cooker and a wok, since I can share the results of these items with others.
Love it!
That word should NEVER be apart of a grown man’s vocabulary
Thank you O.G, very good advice on taking up courses and reading. I always tell folks life is an endless class or school. There is always something to learn.
To add to taking courses online, even if it's free and benefits you personally that helps too. There's always room for self improvement. I've had people mock me for taking up free courses on things like religion or something I like. Told me if it doesn't benefit me getting a job or a raise it's pointless. But we don't always get those just for the sake of money or work. If it benefits your personal well being and gives a sense of personal accomplishment that's a win for you. Which boosts your mindset and self esteem and self value. ❤ personal development of any type is always a win. Some things we do for work, some things we do for ourselves.
11 seconds gotta be a record.. anyways im board ash rn so this vid helped me 😅😅
Love the cardigan!
Great hobby- Lego. They make a lot of adult oriented sets, and building them is relaxing and rewarding.
Appreciate the input!
Amazing video Jeff! Thanks for the invaluable wisdom you imparted to keep us from being idle. Thanks too for the fresh perspective on what privilege it is to actually have the time to sit and be "bored ", a luxury denied to many. "SALUTE "
My pleasure!
Thanks for the tips on boredom,
appreciate it 🎉🎉🎉
This video couldn't have come at a better time. Thank you 😊
thanks, good video
And always appreciative of your content. You’ve grown a lot over the years and consider you one of my male internet mentors. 😂😂😂
The decluttering bit hits home. I recently got out of the military and I'm staying at my dad's place to help him out because he cannot safely live alone anymore.
His old bedroom upstairs (he has been moved downstairs permanently due to being incapable of using stairs) was so cluttered you had to tip toe your way everywhere and his bathroom for some reason had furniture in there. In just a few days I was able to clear enough space where you can easily walk around and see the floor. Still plenty of work to do but man does that room look a million times better.
Good stuff!
There is ALWAYS something to do around the house. Great video OG.

You only get bored when you are living in the Western world. The chances of getting bored in Africa is 0.1% because we are a very interactive people not with mobile phones, computers but with people.....yes people. We do not have robotic coordinated lifestyle. What actually brings us to the western world is money but we get bored and faded up very fast but the end goal is to go back to our land of hospitality 👉Africa
How can you ever be bored in the internet age?
yo
33, came to Christ this year, which has changed my entire life for the better and starting to see the satanic subversion in everything online and in modern culture (the mockery and inversion of everything Christianity, the satanic bible goes over this very clearly, just read the source material and do some critical thinking). Anyways, I'm getting sick and tired of how underwhelming, lacking in patience and encouraging of personal hedonistic impulsiveness gaming/online culture has become so I've decided to sell my PC, finish my home gym, get a nice chair for reading/writing and start the library I wanted as a kid. I decided this and was immediately drawn here. This is going to be a painful transition as the last time I didn't have a PC that I sunk all my free time into was more than 15 years ago, but so far I haven't "reaped" any "fruit" from that behavior except back/shoulder problems. Wish me luck brothers, I write this to plant a seed in someone else thinking similar thoughts, you never know. Thanks for all your wisom man, you've been a huge inspiration in the subtlest of ways over a few years now, improving aspects of my life with many of your videos.
BOREDOM has been my primary enemy since returning to america, had been doing contract work over-seas ( Qatar,Iraq,Kuwaitt and Afghanistan ) first as a mercenary, then in logistics for 11 yrs & 3 months. We went to remote areas of the middle-east that the US military wouldn't go to,did certain things the US military can't do.Hence the service of mercenaries ( guns for hire ) Still getting used to being around civilians tho ( they wine and complain TOO much for me tho,very-SOFT-mentally )I'm used to being around other mercenaries, the military,Army Rangers,Special-Forces,etc,etc,..working civi-job now,got back into a national guard unit ( week-end warrior again-LOL ) still working out, joined a gym and martial arts dojo.I'm used to working 14/16 hr days,or more,it depends on the mission, all year. For the past 11 yrs & 3 months that's how we rolled working every day ( the only time off was on leave days back to the states ) Been gone for over a decade and america is a hot-MESS. LOL.
If you think America is more boring than those places you’ve mentioned (I was there too) than you need to move out from your hometown. If you live in a small town, at least move to the city. Some cities might not be as good as the well known cities, like NY, Miami, LA, ATL, Dallas, and Phoenix. If you can at least afford that lifestyle there I’m sure you’ll have a lot to do everyday and have a lot of fun.
@@Boe3 My occupation was my-NICHE-and I did it for 11 yrs, that's a career. When you were in these places you only did it for a year ( deployments ) so,of course I'm gonna be bored becoming a civilian again.BOREDOM is why I first started fighting in the middle east,I was bored at my civilian jobs and decided to bounce. LOL. I LOVED my job, loved what I did, looked forward to each work day.Found something I was excellent at,but, where I'm living at it's pretty quiet, hardly any crime and the cost of living is very low.The money I made over-seas is strictly for retirement purposes, that's another reason I'm working at my locai VA ( I'm a vet ) and with my time in the military I plan to retire from the VA.Also got back into the national guard, plan to retire from the guard too. SEMPER-FI
@@kerry-j4m right everyone has their own specific tastes. I see you prefer a quiet, safe environment with a low cost of living/no taxes which is understandable. Though there are much more other places (I prefer) that have those things but are way better overall. Mexico can be a good example, there are a few safer spots over there that people go to a lot compared to other parts of Mexico. And If tax is an issue, moving to Texas or Florida would also be a solid choice, as they have one of the most active and fun cities around(never gets boring). To add to that, I know someone that moved from VA to Miami and he has said he didn’t regret his decision at all. So you’re right, it all comes down to personal preferences at the end of the day. Appreciate the insight and thank you for your service brother!
@@Boe3 I live in Texas now and need peace, quiet and safe place to live. But,I'm keeping my skill-set-SHARP-tho,you never know what may pop-off in Texas. Thanks for the advice and suggestions, amigo,it's appreciated. And thank you for recognizing my service ( even tho I was just a gun for hire ) it's appreciated.
You forgot gaming too. But make sure men can play at least 1 or 2 hours a day. Playing too much everyday is bad for you.
Boring people are bored.
What are the 10 things?
At least one day you should rest and relax.
Agreed!
Bored? Boredom is for women and children. As a man, you should always have something to do!
Can’t argue with that
😮😮
