I became a fan in early 2021 when I listened to Hwasa's song Maria. Hip was my first Mamamoo MV that I checked out and it was a bop. Next was Egotistic and I was hooked for life.
I found mamamoo through Jpop, I can in fact speak japanese. Among groups like Ego Wrappin, Namie Amuro, heartsdales and Hikaru Utada I also listed to BoA but Boa Kwon is a kpop and jpop idol, which led to me hearing wondergirls a group called Big Mama(who is a vocal group who a couple years ago had a Killing Voice a decade after disbanding, these women did their come back in the late 40s for age and that led me to look for another super vocal group and found mamamoo in 2016. I myself am a decades long Prince fan, going all the way back to the early 80s RIP, but that left me with no ultra vocal performers to stan as the favorite. Discovered mamamoo about a week after price passed on. Long story but that was my convoluted path to Mamamoo.
Yay thanks for sharing this.. I loved reading about it..Oh wow that's impressive, I'm learning Korean right now . I love Boa.. Ahh Yes I've been asked to react to Big Mama's killing voice...OOOhhh don't even get me started with PRINCE 💜 the ultimate 🙌🏽 I got to see him live in the UK the year before he passed- that concert changed my life -- we are supporting seriously great legends here 🙌🏽
@@seoulfulnotes fun fact then, Solar has a video on her youtube of her play list, she does have a few Prince songs on it, Solar being a Prince fan makes her even better.
@@seoulfulnotes One of the songs was Kiss. She does covers like Michael Jackson man in the mirror, I have been hoping she does a cover of Kiss, she could do it.
So I was watching a bunch of One Million dance videos and one came up for Gogobebe by a group I'd never heard of called Mamamoo. I did not actually realize it was the group rather than talented students until I read the comments. Beside enjoying it, I thought it showed such cool humility that the group would perform in a dance studio in front of the students. So I started checking out their MV's. My eyes locked on Solar from the beginning and she is still my bias. If you want Moonbyul speed rapping you need to listen to Diamond no MV or live vid that I'm aware of.
I think they have 3 or 4 choreo videos on 1Millions channel. Lia Kim and JJ have created a lot of choreo for MMM. They even post the choreo demo videos that the studio created for MMM.
I discovered them in College, not long after they debuted; I was kind of looking for a girl group to Stan and I saw some of their stuff and liked it. What sold me on them, oddly enough, was *1cm Taller than you* 😂- I immediately thought, hold on this is different. They are different. Who are they?? And I never looked back since.
Ahh thanks for sharing your story. Absolutely!! That's is one of the main reasons why I love them - their versatility... They can really do anything because they've got the skills and they have fun with their music too 🙌🏽
@@seoulfulnotes yesss! They have so much fun together you can feel it in everything they do. Sweet as honey. Not to mention the undeniable talent that just demands respect.
