To all the people that are posting negative comments, give the guy a break. If you dont know what hes doing , you shouldnt be attempting this. The carb has a D-shaped tool on it that gets adjusted (which is what he is doing here). That changes the air/fuel mixture. To do it you usually have to remove the tank for easiest access. Or there are long extension tools that fit the d-shaped screw. He must have a modification or an aftermarket screw installed (which i also have- glens permanent screw ). Its well worth the $40 or whatever it is in case you ever need to do this again. But, you usually only mess with it when changing exhaust, airbox, etc. It extends down by the idle screw (black knob) which he is also adjusting in the video. You can damage your engine over time making adjjustments if you dont know what you are doing.
What he's not showing here is the air mixture screw adjustment. The screw itself had a D-shaped head which requires a special socket head (or tool from Honda) to be able to adjust that screw. Some have just removed it and cut a slot in the head of the screw with a hacksaw or Dremel tool so you can use a flat screw driver to adjust it. Or you can get that small socket off Amazon for a few bucks (what I did) that slips into a 1/4" socket driver to adjust it.
The, "screw" is located just below the air filter box. And if you're watching this video, I would assume the watcher knows what they're chasing. Props, Bud!
Vtx is a great bike,,, this adjustment is quite useful if you travel thru altitudes,,, temperature varies,, even helps as the carbs and filter gets dirtier..
Man screw the haters. This video was exactly what I needed I just needed to hear the difference. Thanks for making it man. Pretty sure I’m gonna have to rejet my 1100.
Glowshift Tach.. not made for outdoors, not weatherproof.. Lasted 3 years before the lights started going out. But for $53 it was worth the three years. I am in the process of buying another one.
I have an aftermarket air filter so I have no clue what screw you turned. Would have been nice to see the screw and not just the back half of the motor
I put a 185 jet in it after I installed new cobra slip-ons and she is back firing quite a bit. I didn't really give it a chance to warm up a ton, so I'm going to try actually warming it up more. When I hit the throttle it boggs down and the muffler starts to back fire.
To get a bike to sound like that you'll have the carburetor off and rejet it three or four times. ??? Then the fuel-air mixture screw you'll have the carburetor off three four or five times to adjust it. The idle speed is the knob right there on the airbox easy to find. !!! It takes a special screwdriver that you can't buy that's a d shaped to adjust the fuel-air mixture. ??? There is a special fuel air screw that's on a long spring. Six and a half inch long for stock air box 5 and 1/2 in Long for aftermarket airbox that has a knob on it that you can just reach right down in fine-tune adjust. !!! But no shop is going to spend 6 hours and doing this and your patience will not hold up long enough to get it right. You can't afford to have it done this way. ??? And if you don't have OCD a true perfectionist.!!! You'll never have a bike that doesn't stumble fall on its face or burn up the pipes and the valves in the motor. ??? They do sell the special d screwdriver.!!! The air fuel adjustment screw is behind the bowl closer to the center of the engine but you won't be able to find it unless you pull the carburetor out and bungee it and maybe use a mirror to look up behind the bowl to find it. ??? That's why no one tells you where it is how to adjust it. ??? Are you willing to take the carburetor off six or eight times and spin 6 to 8 hours to do it perfect. ??????
ok, so another vid showed me where the acess screw was (which I assume is an aftermarket deal since you dont have to pull the bike all apart to acess the screw) so, now the question is, where dod you get that tach? that would be a great help
This the 2nd video I've seen where when the guy adjusts the air fuel mix screw the camera goes to far to the left and down so a novice cant see the location of the adjustment screw.
Can you explain where the signal wire goes for the tach you used? I read there is a Red (pos), Black (Neg) yellow and some are green (Signal) where is the sinal pickup at on the vtx 1300?
If you find this so called illusive adjustable screw which way should it be turn to make it rich...The other direction obviously make the carb lean... I have an 07 and use this screw but multiple videos I've watched seem to never show or state which way to turn it...Seems kinda weak to be considered an educational video
Wow, I can't believe the amount of helpless fool's that commented on this thread, pissed because he didn't show you where the pilot screw and idle adjuster is lol. Fucking Google it guys. Real simple lol. It's on the back of the carb so I'm sure by now y'all have figured out it takes a special tool lol. That or a few people riding around with some poorly tuned bikes.
If you don't know the tricks to work on carburetors. ??? And don't know about methanol in your fuel. ??? You'll have your carburetor off every year. !!!!!!!!

You're correct. Glen's VTX Garage sells a permanent A/F Screw that you can easily adjust, even when sitting on the bike.
You can also make the D-shaped tool from a 5.56 mm NATO or .223 shell by flattening the 1 side.
make a video showing where the screws are , and explain what is what
Exactly
Your video would be helpful if you actually show the screw your adjusting. Can you do that? What's the point if you don't?
gahhhhh. your killing me!! I cant see what you did!
I agree with last 2 comments, can't see what your doing to adjust it
The, "screw" is located just below the air filter box. And if you're watching this video, I would assume the watcher knows what they're chasing. Props, Bud!
Vtx is a great bike,,, this adjustment is quite useful if you travel thru altitudes,,, temperature varies,, even helps as the carbs and filter gets dirtier..
Many thanks!
I do all my own work do to shoptards and price gouging and was needing to hear what tuned right sounded like. 👍👍
Man screw the haters. This video was exactly what I needed I just needed to hear the difference. Thanks for making it man. Pretty sure I’m gonna have to rejet my 1100.
my bike is too lean, but you don't show how to adjust it. the camera is always staring at a pipe
Second vid i see with adjustment without showing adjustment.
As far as seeing the A/F Adjust, it is not possible without an Extension from Glen's VTX Garage installed.

What tool did you use to adjust the air/ fuel mixture where would I buy this tool beautiful bike love the sound thanks in advance

Be nice if we could see what your turning
Hey bud, what Tachometer is that which you have on the bike? I like the blue. Let me know.
Has he replied?
@@corrymathews4390 Nope. lol....

Bad ass vid 👌

Nice exhaust pipe. Whatthefukk are you explaining?
Next time point the camera at what's your adjusting because no one saw anything
I never saw what you adjusted just the camera moving and sound what do you adjust
Jim, where did you get the tach at and how much?
another video where we can not see where the screw is located
Couldn't see what you were adjusting.
I like your accent which southern state are you from?
Where did you get that tach?
Show which way you turn
sound was weak, did not show the adjustment knobs (controls)
You don’t show we’re you are doing the ajustment
Do you remember what exhaust you had on this Thanks
Like the pipes. What are they?
That’s idle… not fuel air mix or rich or lean…only idle!
What kind of exhaust is that ?

The entire premise of the video is to show how to do it so the video fell short.
Awesome video in my opinion.
Great vid thanks
Show the screws!!!!!
Show the fucking screws bro
Jesus Christ. ....where is the af ajustment located! Fuck
HA HA HA....................
