Watney took solar cells with him to charge the rover's batteries like when he's at the base, which he plugs into for recharge. But still, solar cells on the rover would be nice along with oxygen generator.
Have to agree with the rover not creating oxygen. What I did was have my crusher near the water field and created oxygen from the water pumps and connected a hose to the rover whenever I parked the rover on the crusher, thus always having oxygen in the rover. And, as far as backing up the rover…yes, it is a pain. Thanks for the videos. I need to get back into this game. Hoping they get the chemistry section working soon.
Speaking of the co2 gun & canisters, it would be nice to have a storage cabinet or even just a box that doesn’t require power. Like all the boxes with random items we find at abandoned bases. Edit: I guess I could just build one of those rover containers and leave it sit by the base. it doesnt look like it required power.
I recently started playing again (the anniversary update toasted my saves (was expected) so I'm building stuff up again. So far my biggest issues is my sink not working no matter how much water is pouring into the workshop (yet my greenhouse and dome are fine?), building the rockets is still a major pain in the butt, (especially if you accidentally add a piece to your inventory instead of placing it and then it's just gone, and backing the rover up. I still don't understand why we can't open the hanger from the rover - or from the outside at all. I have to park the rover in front of it, run all the way around my base, run THROUGH the base, and open the door so I can put the rover away. After a year I would have hoped that stuff like that would have been acknowledged and addressed. Despite the headaches, I have almost everything unlocked again and a lot of it built.
You forgot to adjust the water usage after picking the potatoes. Abandoned bases. I assume that some were just temporary, for one project or other. Some may have been abandoned when their water source ran dry.

Upgrade your scanner so you can scan decorations for your own base, press Q to altering type of item you want built.
Did you watch episode 10? That’s exactly what he did
