      If you look beyond the edit- if you see through the propaganda then you would see we are missing a lot. One thing we have to not is- Clayton said those things… but why? I think it’s cause when they were left alone producers started manipulating and making him think she wanted bachelorette. Hence a very stark turn in his tone and what he said. In my honest opinion, the issue is more so him professing that he’s in love with Susie yet still deciding to sleep with the other two women. If he knew he was in love with her he wouldn’t have slept with the other two women. That’s not rocket science, it’s just common sense. Just because you sign up to be on a show with the POSSIBILITY of sex doesn’t mean that you have to partake in it. Granted, Susie could’ve told him sooner that it was a dealbreaker. She didn’t expect him to tell her he’s in love with her on their date. He got caught red handed and couldn’t handle the repercussions. I do believe production purposely had Susie go last. But honestly production was low key looking out for her because regardless of the order the dates went in, it still says a lot about his character considering the fact that he knew he ultimately wanted her but was willing to jeopardize it, just to get one off. And his reaction was unwarranted. It just revealed his true character.

    I think there's something to say about the lead holding back their feelings until a certain time. We saw twice just within the last year how it can blow up. Katie said she wouldn't tell anyone she loved them until they were engaged, which lead to the Katie v Greg debacle. Clayton mentioned Serene taught him to not hold back his emtions. and you could argue if he expressed himself sooner, Susie would have expressed her deal breakers sooner.
    It seems to me that when leads hold back their feelings to the contestants, the lead misses out on a huge chunk of information that will help them make their final decision.

And Colton revealed his own standards and morals (or lack thereof) by not knowing Susie's desires so it shows their natural incompatibility rather than if he had acted in one way just to please her...cuz that shiny image stuff wears off after marriage and you need to know who you really are marrying. We already knew Clayton was totally emotionally deficient thanks to his constant walking away during conflict and the way he's talked down coldly to a few of the women when deciding to send them home. What happened to Susie shouldn't really have come as a surprise, he already showed us who he is deep down when the chips have fallen. What he did to Susie is called DARVO - Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. It's basically the psychological term for "playing the victim", especially so effectively that the true injured party ends up being the one to apologize for THEIR behaviour even if they did nothing wrong (as we saw from Susie). It's a favourite tool of narcissistic abuser. I'm not necessarily saying that describes Clayton but the show supposedly does extensive psychological screening - how tf did they not catch a man with such low empathy for women who minutes before he professed to love?? As soon as things end he flips the switch and withholds any compassion or regard for them. It's frankly chilling.

    Honestly Ben Higgins screwed things up for all of the next bachelors by saying "I love you" to two women and ending up with his winner and not getting too much backlash because it felt like he really was feeling things for both. Since his season, the "saying I love you to multiple people" has become a tired trope that leads to nothing but useless drama and seasons that go down the drain. Clayton just thought he would make even better TV by saying I love you to three women although it's completely ridiculous and the only things he shares with them is lust...

    I agree completely with your points-it is impossible to have absolutes regarding this show. The set up from jump is complicated. But if Clayton knew he was in love with Susie then he should have acted accordingly. However he took advantage of the “Bachelor Perks” without realizing that these are real people who have real feelings. Because honestly, each of those women thought they were the only one. Susie is not going to be the only one devastated at the end of this.

    The worst part of the Clayton/Susie convo imo was that he turned it into “YOU [Susie] aren’t fighting for this relationship, YOU don’t care enough!”
    That was such a red flag because like… that’s like the exact thing that cheaters say when they get caught and try to salvage the relationship from their consequences - their partner is the one that isn’t trying and isn’t committed to the relationship because they won’t just roll over and IMMEDIATELY forgive them (or let themselves be worn down into dropping the issue by a barrage of excuses and justifications) for their actions and betrayal!
    I’m not saying that Clayton ACTUALLY cheated, that’s not really how this show works and I don’t think that’s a fair assessment of the situation.
    However, his argument is EXACTLY what cheaters mindsets are, and that’s a really, REALLY big red flag for a long-term relationship imo.
    He would be unwilling to take any responsibility for the things he does that hurt his partner, and emotionally blackmail them if he wasn’t getting off the hook immediately and allowed to do whatever he wants.

    Definitely his choice to sleep with the women. And susie should know this. It’s always implied that the choice is there. But I’m confused by WHY he chose to sleep with both of them, and probably trying to sleep with Susie. If you want a monogamous relationship with the one woman at the end, then it would make sense to just wait. Unless you’re rating them and using sex as a feature to make your decision which is just weeeeird. Exploring your physical connection is a cop out in my opinion. Along with her saying, she wanted to leave if he was in love with someone else. Would you want that? Im torn. I feel like I get why you’d ask. But at the same time I feel like… you shouldn’t ask it because you KNOW it’s an option especially if the other women are down for it. At least from what I’ve seen, Susie did a good job framing her boundaries and expressing her feelings without telling Clayton he was wrong to fall in love with or sleep with the other women.
    Clayton was not able to do that. “I need someone who can believe me when I choose them despite just telling others I’m in love with them” is very different than “you ruined it”
    Early on I wondered if Clayton was actually polyamorous, but if so his communication is so terrible he’d fail at poly too.

    • @ExitSiign
      @ExitSiign 2 года назад +1

      Plenty of people are Poly and practice it badly. The show is toxic putting monogamous people in these situations. Clayton probably feels love for them all, has ideas of a monogamous future, and lacks experience with navigating full poly relationships.
      I didn’t like how Susie seemingly expected him to be a mind reader. I had a serious partner and ended up on a date with someone else, and things were possibly escalating so I immediately called the partner and asked if it was okay and he said yes… then when I saw him again he got all angry and butthurt about the situation. So yeah, it’s a really annoying thing when people tell you about a boundary after the fact and it ends up ruining a good relationship. It has been quite a while since I've cringed so much at the final three.
    Man did he mess this up spectacularly.
    Just the fact that Rachel said "I'm sorry in advance" shows that Clayton made her and Gabby think they were the one when clearly they weren't. That was what made me more mad than anything that happened with Susie. Just how stupid he was with those two and how out of all the ways it wasn't going to go well, he somehow managed to pick the worst option imaginable.
    And yes, I 100% agree that there is nothing wrong with sleeping with other people as long as you're not an ass about it or being uncomfortable with it as long as you're not an ass about it. This is why I'm not blaming Susie whereas I fully blamed Luke P. He brought Hannah's faith into it and told her she wouldn't be loved by anyone if she had or that she would be less of a woman of faith if she did sleep with someone else which is really vile. And where Clayton loses me is where he places all the blame on Susie and uses his faith to shame her further.
    But either way, the real victims here are Rachel and Gabby and he really screwed both of them over.

Clayton has the right to choose to sleep with the women and not be shamed for it and Susie has the right to not be on board with that decision, BUT what he did then, it’s pure gaslighting and you cannot tell me otherwise. He’s putting the whole blame on her, saying stuff like „I don’t recognize you anymore“, „You’ve invalidated the whole experience“, „I don’t want to put the blame on you BUT“. It’s toxic and he’s making her feel at fault, invalidating her opinion and feelings and I’m so so furious watching these scenes. I hope he is single now, because he has a LOT to learn before he can lead a healthy relationship with respect on both sides.

If Susie would have gone first, I wonder how things would have played out. Also, I think it’s out of line to send hate mail to Clayton or anyone in general. In a podcast, Clayton mentioned that people got a hold of his phone number and email and he was getting really nasty messages telling him to die. To me that’s extreme. Yes, he messed up, but no one deserves that amount of harassment and hate. Especially when production had a lot to do with how things played out.

    Susie's words at the end are my main reason to be on Susie's side. Clayton is all "I' am in love with you", "I am te most in love with you", and when Susie tries to explain why She's no ok sharing is feelings with other woman - and actually is with other women, he flips and goes from "I'm the most in love with you" to "I did love you" and "I'm done, I'll walk you out" is evidence that it wasn't actual love.
    He could have said "Let's have time to think about it" "I'll let you decide if you want to stay and choose us" or sort of.
    This was his chance to prove his love and be kind to her, to acknowledge her feelings of discomfort and even though she said that she can't get pass that, still give her the time and space to cool down and think. Instead, he chose to be a jerk.
    So, to me is not about whether he slept with the two other women, but how he treated Susie after she expressed her feelings.
    It's just another messy break up, a la Katie and Gregg,
    I just hope at the end he's not trying to go back to her.

    Biggest lesson for future bachelors, pick one! You can open your heart to a few but only give your heart to one. And if you decide to sleep with them all don’t except their to be a free pass with no consequences.

    SO typical a line for cheater. Sounds like whoever gets stuck with him will get a lying cheater. I'm beginning to feel he and Shanae belongs together and all 3 of final ladies deserve better than Clayton!

    I love your point that you do not need to be an ass about it!!! Love is about action Clayton. Treat people you profess to love with love, protection, care for their feelings, respect, empathy, kindness and courtesy. A real man wants to protect the woman he is in love with as soon as he is in love! He does not know what love is.
    Susie is amazing when she asked questions. It just helps her know if his character and actions are what she wants in a man.

    If Clayton really is “in love with all three women”, then why does one leaving cause this visceral of a reaction? It should help him narrow it down a little, yes? Kind of gives off the vibe that he was telling the first two women what he thought they would want to hear to sleep with them, but actually had Susie as his first pick… 🧐
    Glad you are feeling better, Bachelor Fantake!! Love your recaps!

    just needed to express how much I appreciate your take on everything. The last part of this video is completely on point and looks at everything through a compassionate lens while holding assh0les accountable. Everyone is allowed to make their own choices and have their boundaries, but to shame someone into feeling that awful for having those boundaries shows that he feels entitled to getting what he wants and that he's able to manipulate a conversation so that she ends up apologizing to him. I've seen multiple friends stuck in bad situations because their partner used similar tactics to keep them there.
    I love that bachelor fantake has the same cynical love/hate relationship with the franchise as I do and I hope you are recovering well and getting the rest you need king!!

    Also I remember Maddie Prewitt was shamed by Peter’s mom for giving an “ultimatum.” “How dare you give him an ultimatum?!” - Peter’s Mom. So maybe Susie watched that season and felt like she couldn’t share her dealbreaker because people would shame her for doing it. It is a damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation.

    Exactly what you said. It's not sleeping with people the problem, it's saying it was her fault and treating her so coldly that bothered me. On the other hand I'm waiting to see what he has to say about it. I believe we can all be asses sometimes, but he'd better make it right to Susie who absolutely didn't deserve to feel that way.

    • @bori80
      @bori80 2 года назад +1

      What bothered me even more was him telling all three women the same bull shit lines just to get them in the sack. I have no sympathy for him.

    • @Ganychan
      @Ganychan 2 года назад

      @@bori80 yeah that wasn't good at all. "I'm feeling things for you I haven't felt in ages, but I'm falling for you", next morning screaming "i love you/ I'm falling in love!!". Those moments must have felt so special to the women, and then they learned he did the same to all three. I want to give him the benefit if the doubt, but it's not a good look.

    He blamed Suzie for not wanting to stick around and fight for their relationship, but in the end, he's the one who gave up. Suzie's parting words spoke volumes. She is so much more mature than he is. Suzie for the next bachelorette!

    Maybe it’s time to do away with Fantasy Suites a week or so before engagement. Unless everyone is on board it just seems like a recipe for drama. Have the parents and family meet the final 3, and help pare down to the final two. Spend the last week on final day long dates with the final two before the decision. You keep the suspense and romance while getting rid of stuff like that.
