Is Destiny an FPS? No, I dont think so. Now get your sword and bring the storm upon your enemies!
The final shape gave us new aspects and exotic armor. We are using the new Ascension aspect and the new Gifted Conviction Exotic chest piece. This build lets you play destiny in a very different way, with high movility, flying throught the sky slashing your enemies from blind spots.
    The core of this build:
-Ascension aspect: Gives amplified on use for you and allies, jolts tagets and lifts you up
-Flow state aspect: Gives 200% class ability regen while amplified. This lets you use ascension every 7 seconds. The reload bonus is also nice.
-Gifted Conviction exotic chest piece: On ascension use gives you more jolt aoe with tracking bombs and damage resist on jolt application.
-Sword: You wont even use your other weapons!. The chest piece tracking bombs counts as light sword hits (probably not intended). This allows you to proc some sword perks like relentless strikes to gain some sword ammo if you hit enought targets.
-Blink jump: High skill ceiling for high and complex jumps making use of Ascension and your sword for the most unique movement style.
    The rest of the build:
-Your Super is a free choice. Arc staff goes with this build fantasy but you already have good neutral add clear gameplay, so is a bit of waste. Gathering storm is the one that mae the most amount of sense gameplaywise for a one-off high single target damage. Storm edge is a bit in between both, but is the new toy so it gets points for that.
-Grenade is also your choice, any would work. Blinding cand help you get up close, skip with the jolting fragments is an easy way to stun overloads from afar, pulses are good stationary target damage. I do like arcbolts.
-For you melee, disorienting blow is mostly your only choice. It is just a tool when you need to blind high damaging enemies like wyverns or stunning unstopables.
    For fragments:
-Amplitude: Free orbs every 10 seconds for more healing
-Resistance: You use a sword so this will always be up for more damage resistance
-Beacons: Aoe blind with your sword for less damage revived
For the last fragment you could go either Shock for jolting grenades or Focus, for faster class ability regen (so it goes down to like 5 seconds).
    For weapons:
-The most important part is your arc sword: Personal recomendation is the hunter exclusive craftable Goldtusk. Lightweight frame, higher total ammo among frames and coolest pose and animations. As an alternative, Bequest from deepstone cript is also a good option (but you loose in fashion). As for perks goes, Relentless strikes or Tireless blade are highly remomended for ammo economy.
You can use your sword for 95% of a strike and still have ammo left by the end. This is your primary weapon. So as for the other two slots you can use double special if you wish. I do recomend having a precision weapon (there is a lot of tormentors and subjugatores going around lately) like a linear, sniper or slug shotgun, and a long range weapon. My go to are Arbelist for long precision antibarrier and Indebted kindness from warlord's ruin for arc, long range, aoe, decent special dps, good total damage and good ammo economy.
Honorable mention: Wolfpack rounds arc Ergo sum: Special sword, so you can run a range heavy weapon for ranged bosses scenarios. If you decide to use your heavy sword at the same time you can alternate between the swords for even better ammo economy and in melee bosses scenarios, buff your teammate's swords.
    Important armor mods:
    -Arc siphon for orbs
-One lucent blade on your chest pieces is a nice QoL
    -Aoe and melee resist
-Recuperation on your boots is your only way of mid combat healing
Note that Ascension does not proc on class ability armor mods like reaper
    Stats to aim:
-100 Resilience: You play agressive, the more DR you can get, the better
-50 Movility: Being amplified gives you the other 50 you need to reach the cap, so aim no higher tha than. Addiotionally, a lightweight frame weapon, like your sword, gives you 20 movility so you can go as low as 30 if you so desire.
-The rest is up to you. I would have high discipline, at least 30 intelect and balance recuperation and strenght
    Artifact mods:
We have a couple really good mods for this build this season.
-Galvanic armor always gives us more DR
-Blade stamina for better sword ammo economy
-Argent blade for more sword damage
    -Overload sword for Overcharge modifiers

    Description continuation:
    Gameplay:
You will have your sword out for 90% of the time. You have lots of DR but your healing come from either orb pickups or getting in cover. You do have to decide on the spot either to retreat, search for orbs or kill enemies to make more of them. Ascension will take care of most low tier adds. For example, you can go ham on groups of enemies and bail out in any moment using ascension jolting whats left, sword swing and blink. By being carefull with you sword, you will drain you ammo so slowly you will probably come across a heavy brick at some point to keep it toped off. This does not mean dont use your sword, you get ammo back by hitting and killing enemies, go for them!
Note: Your sword can block damage, dont forget that. Useful for retreating at low health and reviving teammates.
    Difficulty:
From easy to expert and even master difficulty. If you play wise this build will take you places. With all damage resist efects active you can go as high as 80% DR.
    Activities:
PVE everything except long range boss scenearios like in dungeons or raids. Still you can use ergo sum as a backup.
    Fashion:
Go for an edgy looking ninja/samurai. The seasonal class item is a perfect fit for this style.
In the video there are some gameplay clips so you can see how different it feels to play destiny with this. How needs guns in a looter-shooter amr?

I use buried bloodline in a similar build! Get some kills at the start of the engagement and you have amazing survivability with all the DR that arc gives you. Cool build btw! I’ll try the sword blink combo ASAP

@@jelmerteriele1052 You can totally do that yeah! Bloodline is very good gun overall so it would fit really well. Thanks!

I've been playing around with this build and I love it. There's definitely some adjustment I need to condition myself into "3rd person swordplay game" lol, and I'm trying to get the hang of Blink, but overall I really enjoy it ^-^

Glad you like it! And good luck with Blink, personally it is the most fun jump / movement ability in destiny

@@indwarcorn060I agree, it's really fun to use, and the versatility of being able to use it for horizontal movement is super safisfying. My struggles come in with any traversal sections though lol
