I would be down if they made the Ford Mustang into its only car platform in the US. Give us a euro inspired wagon and sedan, Maybe a ute if were lucky. This is something they should have done years ago as a cheaper option to the german premium sedans.

I LOVE STATION WAGONS! Back in the 70s, there were station wagon clubs that would take vacation trips with lines of them making a "wagon train". Great fun and you didn't have to worry about Indian attacks.

Those rear seats! I remember an electric window switch we'd mess with until dad turned it off. The a/c vents were so integrated with the dash styling you could hardly see them. And the wood-grained wallpaper! Was a great car, dad loved it.

...loved McLean Stevenson in the final ad...and maybe just me, but in the first ad, as 22 guys were touting the "doorgate" and showing the width of the load floor they pulled out a flat board with what looked like a sheet covered corpse...just bizarre visuals...
...without exception, consumers either really like the center-facing 3rd row seats ( kids could keep each other amused...Ford even produced an optional game table...allowing young kids to color or play board games on long trips)...
...or they hated it...the seats were too closely placed to allow adults to be seated comfortably ..
...the pleased parents must have won the day at Dearborn, since the center-facing design concept was carried through in the Country Squire and Mercury's Colony Park wagons until the were discontinued after the 1991 model year ...

In the first ad you are urged to drive a Ford wagon...but no Falcon wagon is shown. I realize there wasn't a Falcon Squire after 1965 (or was there?) but you have to wonder why it was left out. And it's kind of odd that they show the Select-Shift feature on a floor mounted shift lever, was there ever a floor shifted transmission in a 67 Ford wagon?

The biggest difference between the Ford and a Pontiac [ I owned a 67 model of both ] was under the hood a 400 Pontiac V8 would bury a Ford 390 V8, aside from that the Ford rode better , and was quieter .
