      I've always said Greek olive oil is the best, especially from crete, but it's very hard to find unless you go online or buy in Greece. I live in Ireland and it's generally always Italian in supermarkets. Scottish rapeseed oil is a good alternative though to olive oil because it has alot of the health benefits, but you can use at higher temperatures.

    • @Barbaralatrevisana

      Nonsense. There are many kinds of olives and olive oils, it’s very subjective, there is no “best”, unless you have tried every italian olive oil and every Greek olive oil. It’s the same as saying “USA is the best country”. How would you know?

    Problem is, Alessio, I'm from Liguria, and our olive oil is much sweeter than Tuscan oil. Having grown up with it, Tuscan oil is too peppery for me. Peppery doesn't mean better. The type of olive and also the type of soil makes a big difference.

    • @barmalini
      @barmalini 2 месяца назад +1

      thank you, this is indeed an important remark, and I also want to stress that the distance between the olive groves in Toscana and Liguria can be anything from a hundred kilometers to zero, because those two provinces border one another, and yet the type of soil makes all the difference!

What I bought was October November December 2020 harvest with max acidity of 0.5% I wish I had bought more than 1 bottle because I could not find it the next time I was there. I think it cost about $16, but I'm not certain. It is the Kirkland brand, their private label. It's really good. @@ruukibane301 no it’s not, it’s a good quality and priced well. I am of Mediterranean background, so I have high standards for olive oil myself. The Trader Joe’s brands though are on the buttery flavor side, not the peppery complex variety that you would get from a mom and pop shop.

    I love your videos! I have seen Alessio use olive oil on his pasta and I have started doing this. Which specific type of Entimio olive oil would you say is the best for this?

    What about people saying you can put your olive oil in the refrigerator and if it solidifies it's real?
