I still can't get over how you managed to compose such incredible music for the SEGA Mega Drive all those years ago. Streets of Rage 2 was legendary because of your music, and I still praise it among my friends even today. Thank you sir. It was a pleasure growing up with your works.
This coming out of the PC-88's YM2608 really blows my mind. To think this was possible back in 86-87 makes me realize just how ahead of the curve the computing and gaming industry was back then over in Japan.
All the bare knuckles tracks from the first to the third game are pure work or art. Thirty years I am still listening all those tracks. Thanks Mister Koshiro to create this legend
I first played 'Streets Of Rage 2(Bare Knuckle II)' when I was in 6th grade in early spring 1993. This BGM has been one of my favorite tracks from the game along with 'Go Straight', 'In the Bar', 'Never Return Alive', and 'Back to the Industry'. Thank you so much for the amazing music and wonderful memories!
You make some of the greatest BGMs of all time, but my favorite work of yours is from 世界樹の迷宮V, particularly Dungeon 1, 2 4 and 5. A massive reason why this game sticks in my mind is because of its amazing music (I know this comment isn’t specifically related to this music but I just wanted to share my feelings haha)

I never knew you had a RUclips channel. Streets of rage is one of my favorite trilogies of all time & I grew up playing streets of rage 2 on my Dreamcast which certainly didn’t do the music justice. Now a decade later & I have a full genesis set up streets of rage 1, 2, & 3. I made it to 3, but thanks to some management at Sega they made it way harder than it should be. I’m slowly getting better though. I find it really interesting how the music in the third entry was randonly generated & then tuned. Some people dislike it but I really like the sound of it. I also subbed
Your work is a true testament to the joy of music. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face and rhythm to my heart for so many years! Keep up the great work!
So good! I first played Streets of Rage about ten years ago, and they were a bit inspiration for becoming interested in a career with game audio. Thank you for making these!
Thank you so much for making my childhood best game ever sound so great, I have amazing memories of these songs, and I listen to them when I am at work :D
I imagine very early on in composing this, maybe even when this was only a tune in his head, that Mr. Koshiro knew this track was special-- and I imagine that feeling was pure bliss.
Sir, I was 14 years old when I reluctantly bought Street of rage 2, I wanted to purchase street fighter 2 but it was not yet released on the Genesis. When I heard this masterpiece it was wonderful, no one had ever pushed the sound capabilities of the Megadive (Genesis) so far. It is rare to be as good a programmer as a musician. Thank you Mr. Koshiro, you are a legend. My best regards. Carl.
I can’t tell you how much this soundtrack shaped and informed my musical tastes as a middle-school kids just discovering my musical independence. I’m 45 now and I can still jam out to mad max.
Was just thinking about a Streets 2 track yesterday, they always come into my mind because they are so awesome! Love these vids with gear and everything. Fan for life.
My two favorite things about Etrian Odyssey were Koshiro's music and Himukai's character designs, I hope I will get to experience them again someday...
i search for EO 6 news a couple times a month. His music are one of my favorite things about EO also. I couldnt believe it when i traced the music back to Yuzo whos music from streets of rage here got my hyped as a kid.
A huge thank you from the UK love your work and streets of rage 2 has got the best soundtrack overall on the genesis/mega drive. I should know I’ve played nearly all of them over the years You’re the G.O.A.T
The fact that you were able to wrench such masterful house music classics as this out of the dusty old Mega Drive hardware speaks to your insane skill as a producer.
You just don’t understand how many times i played this song alone. How many times this pops into my head while driving. I wanna thank you and all video game composers because you guys created the soundtrack to my life
I started to truly love and listen to music after I first played SoR 2 and was captivated by it's majestic soundtrack. You defined my taste in music for the rest of my life. Thank you. ❤
My absolute favorite theme from any videogame ever existed!!! I can't stop listening to this song and when I'm not listening to it I always think of it lol
I'm trying to learn MML, but to compose music for the mega drive! It's really hard to get into "scripted music" when I'm so used to using a tracker. But still it is fun to learn all the commands and loops etc. btw thanks for the amazing music in SOR series!
This is my favorite BK/SoR2 track. My family didn't grow up with a SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive, but there were some friends who had one and this game and it is, until this day, my all time favorite GEN/MD game. Later on, I'd play this as an annual tradition with my brother when he was visiting for the holidays. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
i'm kinda illiterate when it comes to audiophile/hardware stuff like this, so if i had to pick a difference, the bass sounds more prominent on real hardware. but that might just be me. one of my favorite songs regardless.

FM音楽の魔術師キタアアアアア. I love all of your works, Mr Koshiro. I grew up hearing all of your composition during your time at Bothtec until now, as CEO of Ancient Corporation. You never lose your coolness in creating songs. Btw, is there any new project that you are doing right now? A CD Release or Bandcamp Release or Ototoy Release?
That penguin has heard a lot of sick beats in its life.

Have you heard what Peter Gabriel was doing with computer synths in the late 70s?

What sticks out to me the most is that the noise channel seems to sound sharper in the emulation.
No noise channel, FM drums.
