Gosh, hearing that authentic 909 crunch just injects so much energy into this classic. One of the most authentic techno artists, you absolutely deserve to be headlining things like EDC now.
I want you to know that this was the first videogame music I heard in my life, at a toy store in 1992, when videogames started being sold locally in Portugal. It's hard for me to imagine a better music track for that.
I have downloaded the revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage 1 and 2 on my smartphone and I listen to these tunes on my way to work in the morning. Awesome tracks!!! Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪 👋🙏

What can I say. You are the original master of this theme that I loved to bits when I played it in the sound and test option of the game cartridge back in those years. Only a master can outperform himself and this rendition is really so neat and spot on I wouldn't mind to listen to it if SEGA evert plans to produce a faithful remake of the original videogame series. Oh yes, that would be so lovely, with expanded rejuvenated BGMs like this one 🎵

Thinking back on it, I never truly appreciated why most games on the Genesis had the option to listen to the BGM on its own. The beast (yes beast not beats) of this track explains why. As much as I love chiptune there was always something about the Genesis sound that made it groovy.
Yuzo do the kicks hit 4/4 the whole song? Always wondered this. You can hear 4 on the floor in the beginning but once all the instruments get mixed in I hear only 1 & 3. Was wondering if this was a limitation with the genesis sound chip?

The YM2612 is a substantially cut down version of the YM2608.
