Join us inside as we Marvel at over 238000 ft² full of over 1600 motorcycles including the ones in the restoration shop spread out over 5 massive football field long rooms surrounded by massive glass windows... outside is the 880 acre world class park with a national caliber Race track with 2.38 miles of turns rolling through the hillside and a huge Private complex of roads surrounding the whole complex. Listed in the Guinness world books of records as the largest motorcycle museum in the world also housing the largest collection of Lotus race cars this really has to be seen to be appreciated and don't miss out on the annual 16th annual vintage fast October of 2021 right here at the museum in Birmingham Alabama where every licence plate says God-bless America
From the bottom of my heart...thank you for posting this!!!!!!
I can't wait to go back in a few weeks. love seeing the bikes esp the ones you grew up on riding etc.
The fact that I lived 20 minutes away from this place and watching the indie races here every year was such a great time.
Colombia Santander bucaramanga coordial saludo amigo, gracias kaplam por haber compartido el vídeo del museo de clásico sobre ruedas , Dios me de la oportunidad en vida de conocer espectacular sitio turístico es de apreciar tal monumento 💯
I appreciate you Ken you do so much for the motorcycle community, God Bless
Amazing place!!!!
I hope I could go soon.
Thanks for the vídeo!!!
Wow!!..that museum is epic..thanks ken.
That Mv Agusta f4 Tamburini in 1:10:40 was and is my dream bike forever and ever! Thank you Mr Kaplan for this fantastic tour! God bless you and your family!
I was born in 1939, and motorcycles are my passion.
That's awesome
My dad was born in 39 and gives me hell for riding and says its a waste of time and money
Good to see someone from that generation that sees enjoyment in motorcycles👍
@@shawngraham4902 sounds like my grandfather. Im 42 and everytime i see him he gives me hell for riding just like he gave my father and uncle hell for riding 😆
All due respect Mr. Kaplan, the 1973 Honda Cr 250 is the M model. The R models were later. Great work of keeping these time machines alive for us who grew up riding these and today still feel like kids. Thank You.
What kind of bike lover wouldn't enjoy spending an entire day looking around there!
- Had a 1970 XLCH, it moved.
What a treat!!! Thank you very much for the video!!!
That was killer! Mind blowing bikes and displays
Utterly remarkable. I had no idea this place even existed and I've been to Birmingham multiple times after living in Atlanta for 6 years. Astounding collection of motor works history!!
Thank you for this beautifully done video. I've watched it three times already. Keep picking up on new things each time I view it. Better than any Hollywood movie on a Saturday night!!
I live a few miles from the museum so I am lucky to get to go to a lot of events there. Vintage fest is definitely my favorite out of all of em. You know that's only a portion of his collection in the museum, they change the displays and rotate certain bikes in and out if there over the years. Hope you guys come to the vintage fest this year, I absolutely love your videos. Hope to make it up to your place some time.
J
Kaplan, surelly you have had a Daytona 400 like me, when you was younger...and we still love it.....yes!!!
Beautiful place. Incredible video.
Wow! Just wow! Add this to my bucket list....
Incredible Museum of cars and bikes👍 each Car and Bike if they can talk, I'm sure they have each of own story to tell🙂
Haven't been in a couple of years and went last week. The museum is even bigger/better and it is a truly "must see" for anyone interested in motorcycles. The Lotus F1/F2 collection is fantastic as well. I've attended numerous Indy Car and GRAND-AM Rolex Sports car events there and the entire museum and racing facility is best in class in every aspect. Highly recommend a visit.
Awesome! Spotted an '82 RD350LC in the stack along the elevator, white with blue stripes, used to have one.
A new drinking game every time Ken says incredible take a drink LOL just kidding no one can drink that much ha ha Ha but seriously I have got to go visit that museum wow it really is incredible
Lol too funny
Wow... Fantastic 👌👌👌🥇🥇🥇
Thank you.
Finally got time to sit down and watch this ad all I can say is WOW! Almost like you’ve been shrunken down and put in a Lego Motorcycle World lol 👍✌️
heck yeah.. thanks for the video
whille im waiting for my Honda Spada VT250 battery to recharge im sitting here watching a 2 hour video about motorcycles. I love it, thanks for posting this!
ride safe.
Hey man nice walk through ✌🏼 Would of liked to see a touch more of their Dirt bikes but .. I guess your place has a lot to see in that department. Thanks for the tour
I like your video very much.My uncle had a 1949 Harley-Davidson 1250 cc Motorcycle. I would like to come to your museum.Thank You Have a great day!!
I lived just an hour from this place, in Alabama, but went to the INDY car races and it was the shit. The museum is the best in the world IMO
Amazing video thank you for doing a marvellous film I am in the UK and don’t think I can visit but thank you absolutely brilliant you are a motorcycle legend 😊👍
Thank you !! Great walk thru
It's on my bucket list.
Motolove! Love my own Kawasaki. Always putting up the good stuff like Delta Parole, Metallica, Alice In Chains and others when I am working on her. Moto is life
Yep = Bucket List !! I see there was a Victory in there.........
I just got (in October) a 2000 Victory V92SC Sport Cruiser w/ 485 miles on it.
Cool walk thu.
Love the entry with agustas and Ducatis as ive goten older ive found interest in old road racers when i was a kid i thought they where just ugly and funny now their cool as hell
Thanks for sharing ken
John Britten check out his story ! Amazing !
Really an incredible museum and presentation, cars are really presented as art work so tastefully done, just amazing concept and imagination of the whole site.
Sad to see so much beauty
Just sitting in a glass house
On the other hand those vehicles seem safe and content there and unlike us
They will never get COVID in that building. :)
By the way I haven't watch much but how many videos do you make every day?
Good job
great video!!!!!!!!!
Sears the Amazon of the 20th century
Lovely Vincent's I live right nextdoor to Stevenage where they were built
An interesting fact I have learned when I was there…
There is a code on the plaque of each bike
The code starts at 0001 and goes up
That is the order in which the bikes were added to the museum
They start with the three Hondas near the interceptor senior mentioned
Been there it is awesome
very cool, my Honda 70 mini trail, memories.
Nice job showing and naming the bikes.. you sounded a little tired at the end.. Sensory overload ... I love your version of `Dracula`s bike,,, lol
1:10:35 is a CBR 1100xx Blackbird named after the SR71 or Super Blackbird not a Fireblade ! and the Norton Classic a couple of minutes earlier has a Wankel rotary engine in it !
very cool vid though 8>)
41:50 thank you for this one he shows you how he makes them on his channel
Maniac of an engineer I must had he has a v10 viper Millyard he made and a plane engine motorcycle to he’s a genius.
Nice Kap I bet you was like kid in sweet Lol
This is amazing, appreciate you for taking us along my dude!
My Mecca. I need to make my annual pilgrimage...
You named my Motocross idle Bob "Hurricane" Hannah and I was surprised you didn't mention the original knee dragger Kenny Roberts... I would love a 2 Stroke 500 Kenny Roberts Replica...
The sports bikes are awesome 👌 but I prefer a cruise bike myself.
I haven't seen the Surtees MV a few years, it belonged to a friend of mine who offered it to me but my wife didn't want to sell the house. It looks like they did some resoration work to it, which is a shame to have lost it's track patina.
I may not be very old but we went there for a field trip
Im not joking we live close to this place
1:06:41 Kreidler Van Veen .
Its a Dutch modified Kreidler 50cc 2 stroke goes over 200Kph or 125 Mph, revving 16.000 rpm 20 HP very fast racer . 1973
Great vid great info, im a big suzuki fan I didn't see any rgvs or they not old enough yet?
1:29 in is a gen 3 2007 Honda CR250R the last year of the aluminium frame, it's not a 97 gen one which was the first year. Shame they didn't have a 2001 Honda CR250R. Great video & amazing memories.
Muito show!
incredible ytube channel 👍 👍
Wish I was there over here in Canada it just lockdown stay at home and covid covid covid
we should just have Hydroxychloroquine, ovwr the counter, like some countries do....and get on with it
Still on full time lock down?
@@mokokawi don't think I'd be putting anything in my body that's made bye this corrupted Government of ours.
@@keepontruckinoutlawlife1248 yes still under Communist rule lol
@@michaelawram3618 wow sorry to hear that brother. Please stay safe stay STRONG
That first bike with massive exhaust pipes is awesome and I thought was the coolest bike I had seen then you show that '19 gold/tan Harley with a whopping 8 hp. OMG I think I felt a tingle in my jimmies.
@ 4:06 That is not just 'a Ferrari' that is the 1964 Ferrari F-158 driven by John Surtees to win the 1964 Formula 1 World Championship.
They also have the best looking F1 car ever. Although not sure what yr or model- Lotus John Players Special
I went to the fest in 2018 and 2019, was gonna go in 2020 but they shut it down. Grandpa's been going since 2004 when they opened!
It’s a shopping mall full of bikes
I wish I was there with you guys. I’ll bring the steaks !!!
That is the place I want to get buried in when I die 👍👍👍
I remember a motorcycle called a mustang. The rear wheel was smaller than the front one. I dont know anyone who remembers this machine. Am I just dreaming?
1:29:00 thats a 07 cr 250 im pretty sure. Definitely gen 3 alloy frame though so 02-07.
"This guy is like a genius mad scientist"
Millyard viewers: *you're not wrong*
So Much So it makes you emotional KZ 1000 Oh MY GOD Thank YOU ! Kawasaki heavy industries & Mr Millyard What Can Be Made
Allen Millyard makes those bikes in his garage at home and often with very basic tools like a hacksaw to chop the blocks etc down. He has a RUclips channel which I would advise watching if your interested in how he made those wonderful machines that are displayed in the barber museum as an eye opener to how much of a talented engineer he is.
I was there for 5 days in a row. We were allowed to go to the warehouse with about 500 more bikes to be restored.
Planning on going back this year for another five days!
Awesome
as someone who feels compelled to read every word multiple times. how long should my trip be? i plan on road tripping a 2005 ebr{erik buell racing} xb12R in 2003 powder blue. supposedly the only one publicly sold and i thought it would be neat to show them when im down in biker heaven
I was two days only but I would like to go again.
That old tour guide had insane knowledge. Thanks Senior for taking us on such an incredible tour of a place many of us will never get to see.
How could someone dislike this video. Absolutely amazing. Need to make a trip ASAP!
You have to have an insane sick brain to share your negative 👎 crap with something as beautiful and educational as this video.
Makes my stomach hurt thinking of all the awful rotten inside & out people that are just pooping out child after child that are brought up like ravinous hyenas.
@@sidebite2533 what are you talking about?
Great video many thanks a delicious meal for 2 hours and a great trip down memory lane.
You mentioned on the video that you had'nt heard of Allen Millyard who as you say is a genius I have given you a link to one of his projects of making an v twin aeroplane engine into a motocycle.
ruclips.net/video/I-Xr1bmbZ_s/видео.html
A very clever man indeed and as you saw the Barber museum snapped up a number of his projects
Thank you once again
regards
Mark
In the "I don't know, but I've been told" category...Brough is pronounced Bruff. Velocette is like Hello set but with a V. Thanks for the tour. Been on the bucket list for some time.
They got more bikes but you have more CR500's haha
No one tops the Kaplan’s in that lol
Kenny I thought your museum was big this place is massive if ever I am in America I will visit your place and this place don't forget man love makes the world go round
Kenny’s is historical landmark
@@tbone67gthenderson78 Yes and to be honest as buildings go I like Ken's joint better. Yes due to modern amenities and such Barber's might be a 'neater' structure due to tech but nothing can replace an old building with exposed beams and such. You get to see the bones of the place. I come from a building background and specialized in renovation/restoration of old buildings. I think part of the old buildings are the respect I have to the folks that built them and what they accomplished with what we would consider simple tools. Just think no power drills, no power saws, chisels and no real tape measure to just begin. An old building has a kind of warmth about it and I don't mean heat as they are usually cold due to lack of insulation. Well they may have had power tools but you couldn't bring them to the job with you as they were massive in size and weight, never mind the power for such equipment
What a magnificent museum, you could spend a year there and still miss something. You'd make a great guide to go around with Ken with your knowledge, but what a great place to visit & recognise the bikes from your era and loads of heritage alike.
Amazing AF!, I saw so many bikes i've owned over my life, im on my 98th motorcycle now at 60 years old, started at 9 on a yamaha MX80, now im on a 2005 kawasaki ZRX1200R!, cool video!, thanks! ;o)
Wow, what a heavenly place. I have to say that my favorite was the Yamaha Vmax believe it or not! Was there a 1700 (09’-20’) model there? I saw the 1200 (85’?) I guess it’s because I own one and I’m in love with it! Lol! Thanks for the awesome video!!!
Can't think of anyone better to give a tour of that place!
Definitely a breathtaking video! I cant imagine how it feels in person!
Love the museum have been there three times but before the expansion. Will be going back.
Been to the vintages days twice.
This video is great and fun to watch.....The video is made much better by the commentary made by you while filming we can really feel your passion for the bikes...best bike video I've seen ever.....
Great video with some beautiful motorcycles escorted by the motorcycle king himself,I watched the whole video, thanks for taking us along with you
John Surtees R.I.P the only man to win both F1 and Motogp championships 👏
This is an awesome place, thank you so much for sharing you guys.🏴🏴
I agree with your statement about the innovation era of 1965-1985 for motorcycles (born in 1964). We took a family ride to Laguna Seca in 1982 to watch King Kenny Roberts sweep the floors with competition wheeling past the worlds best! We rode down father and sons on a CBX/6, CB550/4 and 350/2 Honda innovation! Favorite bike for me was Robert’s TZ750 2 stroke dirt tracker! That was nothing but good times!
good one Ken! Thanks for the filming...awesome walk around
There's even an elusive 'Bigfoot' at 26:03 just above the waterfall - and next to the tree!
Awesome place...thanks so much for the video! :)
No Osolots 2 mc 10,s chain saw engines on a motorcycle frame very fast scrambler late 60's early 70"s
We are looking for places to go. I want to share these experiences with my wife, but the door says no pets allowed... theres goes that.
I've been to the Barber museum twice and my favorite Bikes there are always the unpronounceable Italian ones, and then there's the Ducati #14 Which was I think Mike Hailwood's teammate bike at the I.O.M. race in 1978, I think it was raced there again in '79 the actual #12 bike no longer exists due to a bad crash a few years ago. There are a lot of great stories about that bike, some true, some, notsotrue, I tend to think that the true stories are more nutty. Although there are a lot of stunning copies floating around. Your video of the museum is absolutely great and I love your pronunciations of the foreign stuff, lol. One day I hope to visit your museum.
I’ve been there and you just have to see it in person, totally incredible!
wasnt the cannondale a 440?
does kaplan ever get any ATK's?
super cool video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Truly an awesome and inspirational place.
An hour in and I can't even catch my breath 😂 this place is INSANE. I had no idea something like this even existed, this is dreamland :)
YES, OVER THE TOP
$70 Mill. This place empty would house every American War Veteran that is living on the street. Financially speaking.
This place is jaw dropping. Im adding another stop to the bucket list. Stunning. Stay safe on the trip. Enjoy the adventure and just know we’re freezing up here in New England!
