Tassels (Tzitzit) or no Tassels? That is the question.

  • Our Savior, Yeshua (Jesus) wore tassels while he walked as our living example. Shouldn't we then wear them as well? Many say Tassels do not serve a place anymore in today's society. I happen to disagree.

whos "we" are you Jewish? If yes, then it is a mitzvah. If you are a "Christian", you pray to a god who suffers from dissociative multiple personality disorder Axis I and schizoaffective Axis II so you'd PROBABLY be safer if you kept that crucifix nearby, just sayin'...

People also have no problem wearing “wwjd” bracelets. But tassels were the original “what would Jesus do?” reminders.
I just started wearing them recently (during sukkot) and it’s funny, after a few days I looked down and saw them and it just felt like they were supposed to be there. My boys and husband wear them, but it was new for me. Obedience blesses us :)

Let's say that you're saved, and feel God is calling you to live by the Torah. Let's say that you live by the Torah. ignore all the arguments about should we, shouldn't we, and stand before God and He says 'You didn't have to do all that', but you say 'I know Abba, but I wanted to do it because I loved you. Not for salvation, but to follow the perfect example of goodness and righteousness you set'. Because you followed it and you didn't have to, you literally break everything in two, you are giving him your heart, the thing he can't make you give him. Only joy will follow.

Yes, that would be great. Let me know how the Tzitzit help your walk. It definitely is not easy, the society we live in today is so far from Yahweh. We easily get caught up in the hype of caring what others think about us. I'm not sure if that is what you are struggling with but it definitely was my issue. I also agree that you should make the set yourself, this is something I recently came across from another youtuber. When I first read the verse I never made the connection that it is telling you to make them. I too am going to give it a shot, although they may not come out looking like tassels. LOL

@daviddelarosa5575 = There is no Torah instructions on the length or particular style of Tzitzits, and most of what you buy is based on so called oral Torah. Since the Torah does not specify number of threads or knots or any other design, or even length, I buy some wool or thread and cut a few strands of about 15 inches long. I fold them in half and make mine with only one loop knot. Afterword, I trim or cut them off at about 4 to 6 inches length, for belt loops. Purists criticize me for not following Talmud or other non written Tassel instructions. When I had cut them at about 3 inches length, I found that they would come loose and fall off without noticing.

Here is something for your wife to study. At minimum Jeremiah 31:31 means that the 10 Commandments are written on the heart. That means that there is NO SALVATION for any, in any SUNDAY church, who do not obey 4th Commandment, the "Saturday" Sabbath. Exodus 31:14 gives important information on obeying that Sabbath. I have never seen a "SUNDAY" church preach to obey the 4th, the "Saturday" Sabbath.

While I appreciate that this is difficult for you guys, I want to add to the conversation the difficulty and confusion of this topic for we gals. Yes, there is plenty of online support for us concerning the wearing of the tzit tzit, but there is also a great deal of hostility and confusion. The Rabbinic take (through the parsing of language and culture) is that they were only meant for men. When they run out of the ridiculous argument that women don't need scriptural reminders, then they go to their understanding of what the original Hebrew says. However, in support, we find the opposite take that the original Hebrew tells us that ALL of us are to engage in the wearing of the tassels. My experience, so far, is that it is usually those of us who follow Rabbinic direction, or who once did so, but have become Messianic in their belief, hold the sentiment that women who wear the tzit tzit are engaging in cross-dressing.

Hi Elisabeth, you are absolutely correct, the command is for all the children of Israel to wear tzitzit. There is a split in the movement when it comes to this question, I myself agree with you. I wish I had added this to the video. Women are children of the Most High just like men. So strap on the tzitzit ladies.

The real matter isn't whether to wear or not wear tzitzit, the real issue is obedience to God's Torah/instructions or to return to sinful living against God and HIS Torah. It's a heart issue.

Your hat is on backward. ... right? Regarding the tzitzit .... If you can't have and remember the law and it is not in your heart ... if you need them to remind you to keep the law .. then I guess wear them so you remember to ... Yah writes his law on one's heart and we know it or not. You might want to post the law on a chart on the wall too.... The heart is different than intellectual comprehension of concepts. ... do the law ... instructions ... the law is perfect and converts the soul ...

People need to study to understand that Jesus teaches a different message than Paul. In Matthew 19;17 Yeshua (Jesus) said to obey the commandments for eternal life (A works based salvation). Luke 16;17 means the Torah is still valid and in effect. This means the 10 Commandments were never done away. Exodus 31:14 means that there is NO SALVATION for any in the SUNDAY church who do not obey 4th Commandment, the "Saturday" Sabbath. Many people have been teaching lies and misinformation even since the time of Constantine.
