Thanks for making this tutorial! I almost ordered a set, and I would’ve missed the blessing of making them myself 🥰 your instructions were easy to follow and at perfect pace
Very good, helpful video! Thank you for making this! FYI, it was a pleasure to hear you say the beautiful, wonderful Name of our Creator! Yahweh's richest blessings to you!
I've only just come to Torah, I was able to escape Mormonism... I am 38 with 5 kids and my wife, two are still trapped in the lies. Thank you for your video brother.
I am wanting to make a couple of pairs for work I bought some but for some reason they have six strings instead of 8 , so I decided I'm gonna make my own with a dark grey string , I work at a lumber yard, I get sap on my clothes and white stains easily thank you Yahuwah echad Thanks for the video.
sonoftsadik, I think it's truly funny how people are going all crazy about you using a blue string, saying the name of our own God out loud, and tying the strings a different way than "the great Orthodox Rabbis". Thanks for the video, it really helped.
Very well explained! I would like to see the video closer up and more clearly, though. Again, I say, very nicely demonstrated and explained! God bless you and thank you!
Thank you for this video. I am truly encourage and excited to try this. Just a note on all the arguing I see below(how I see it): In order to be "saved" we "wild branches" are grafted into the olive tree-into Israel with the natural branches. We are one body now. YHWH only has one group of children. There are no "Jews" vs "Christians". One either is a child of YHWH... or they are not. Jews are from the tribe of Judah. "Christians" , well, they should be Yeshua-ians, meaning to follow Yeshua. Plain and simple. Truly, anyone who is not Hebrew by blood can be Hebrew by faith and practice by crossing over what they believe and practice. -->Andrew Russell, I am not sure why you are so negative here with everyone. Why is your heart so angry? Who has hurt you? Everyone here seems to be striving their best follow YHWH and Yeshua's example of how we should live our lives. We are to encourage one another-not attack and tear each other down. I'd really encourage you to examine if your words are leading others towards Torah, or away? Just a word of encouragement for reflection. SHALOM!
Thank you Adriana. Just sharing what I have learned.throughout my journey. Our lives have true meaning when we love YHWH with all that we are and all that we do, and if we love all that YHWH loves (like our fellow man). May YHWH bless you and keep you close to His heart and His ways.
I tie it differently than you do. I like the numbers for His name though. But, the Torah does not say how it should be tied, only that it should contain one blue thread right?
Correct! Also, the tzitzit can be of any colour as long as there is one blue thread/cord. The knotes/wrapping is tradition that does not conflict with the Word of Yah, so there's nothing wrong with it.
Thank you for this simple and easy explanation of how to tie tzitzits! I am so glad that you do use the Name YHVH! For i find no commandment or inference not to say His Name.
I think it's because it makes it look "prettier" lol. It's a popular version of the tassels and people like things like this to have meaning... It works for what is commanded, goes on your belt loop easily and provides for the blue strand. I'm sure there are other ways, but this is by far the most popular version.
I have a question, the completed tzitzit has "2" blue threads, are we suppose to cut the shorter one off. Thank you so very much for this very easy to understand informative instructional video.
This video has indeed been a blessing, thank you. I am impressed with the long blue thread reminding us that we long for Yeshua's return. I seek your humble opinion. Because the Scripture does not direct the 10,5,6,5 progresssion, consider this. The numeric value of Yeshua is 386. The numeric value of Yehoshua is 391. Adding 386 to 391 equals 777. Could we wear tzit tzit with the 7, 7, 7, progression? Perhaps only as one or two of the four tzittzit commanded? Thank you for your consideration
I wanted to make a set out of para cords. I guess I should have ordered the thinner para cord. This is much too difficult. The method in the video seems to be much more easier to follow. Is it possible that these Tzitzits were for the teachers and leaders and not expected to be worn by the working class laborers? Perhaps something only for services and prayer times and not for the work week and common tasks? I need something durable. The wool ones on my Tallit are not in very good shape and they never leave the house. If I am to start waring them everywhere I will have to be making new ones every week because they will not hold up. What do you do?
oh my I just learned by fathers real name and now there is something that I can make?? I live in Florida is there a class or a someone I can see to teach me how to make this? Its so special!
@herrengedeck Does Adonai not say to call upon his name? How did David sing the name, if he could not say it? How does Isaiah wish us to call upon the name if we can't call upon the name?
On my new tallit (red stripped) I ordered from Israel last month, on the tzitzits the techelet the wrapping is numbered 7 7 10 13 wondering why its numbered that way?
Hi,can you tell me how far apart the dowels are on the jig? I am thinking of making my own. I really like this. I plan to make these often. With that in mind, I thought I'd make my own jig. It looks like a simple wood plaque with 2 dowels glued to a piece of tile. I have a couple of tiles around here and I know the dowels and plaque I can get at Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, places like that. Either way I like the size of the top loop you have in the beginning. I'm guessing 2-3 inches. Let me know.
awesome my first 2 i did came out weird , i think i got the hang of it on the third one came out awesome so now i will have to make 3 more, SHALOM SHALOM THANK YOU!
@KingOystar Not only JEWS are B'nai Yisroel. If I recall, there were 10 tribes spread to the corners of the earth that were lost in History. They will return as prophesied by Hosea and Ezekiel.
Shalom...hey thank you for your easy to follow video. I've referred back to this several times now. One question. ..... how long are the strings that your starting with?
I can't find the "tying jig" anywhere! I went to Michaels' and they didn't have it or know what I was talking about.. And I can't find it on the internet.. Does it go by another name??
I use a broom handle and position it not to move & can slide off when finished tying. Another commenter said his wife uses her big toe. Ask Abba to give you confidence to be willing to just try. It will be OK. Even if you are dissatisfied with the result first time, you will get better & figure out a better or easier method. You can always undo & start again as well. Blessings.
However nowhere does the scriptures state 4 strings or the color white! So without that "unimportant" rabbinic writings how would u know the number or the color of the strings at all? . You were very specific about the number of ties. Very interesting - can U please educate me and you followers where exactly u got that number from? is it in the written scriptures or was it those annoying Rabbinic rules again?
Thomas Thanks for sharing those pictures and carvings, if you look at the painted drawings, the lengths were different. One of the drawings show the Tallit with the Tzitzit. Having shorter TzitZit may have prevented the Egyptian's from choking them with the longer ones. To have longer ones maybe a way of rejoicing showing thankfulness for the Torah. If its all about the math, then yes your point makes sense concerning what Jesus supposedly said in the Roman/Jew NT, but if not then that would be error. Consider your belief the letter kills but the spirit gives life. This belief is not shared with everyone, there are those who believe the letter and Spirit are one, That's the point of learning the commandments.
The jig in the video is basically a piece of tile with the dowels attached to it. To recreate this get a heftier piece of wood and hammer a couple of nails into it. You just do not want the jig to move.
The blue is not to remind us about Yeshua's return, it's to remind us to keep torah (unless of course you consider Yeshua to be the Living Torah, then I guess that kind of makes sense).
For it was taught: “This is my God, and I will 'adorn' God (Exodus 15:2): Adorn yourself before God in commandments: make a beautiful sukkah in God’s honor, a beautiful lulav, a beautiful shofar, beautiful fringes, and a beautiful Torah scroll, and write it for God with fine ink, a fine reed, and a skilled penman, and wrap it with beautiful silks. Abba Sha’ul interpreted: “And I will 'be like' God”: be like God: just as God is gracious and compassionate, so you be gracious and compassionate.
@jackhty1 So we know what the sages say. What about the Torah? Does the Torah say it has to be tied to the garment first? Does Torah say it must be specific strings? I will follow the laws of the Father, not of man.
Not a very nice comment! Does not Torah tell us that we should love ! I dont think your comment is even close to Love at all , you even go into Name calling! It shows the content of your heart.
Very nice video, although the strings are biblically required to be made of wool, not cotton. Also the blue string is a very specific dye and cannot be any dye. Also, a specific phrase in Hebrew is said when you tie the double knot
My point was that the meaning of the actual Hebrew word doesn't necessarily mean "corner". I'm not saying that it doesn't mean corner, only that from what I have learned thus far from people has been ambiguous. It translates as corner, edge, etc. If you can give me a clearer meaning then I'd be grateful.
the hebrew or aramaic says the color is purple or as it is here in the strong's : H8504 תְּכֵלֶת tkeleth (tek-ay'-leth) n-f. 1. the cerulean mussel, i.e. the color (violet) obtained therefrom or stuff dyed therewith [probably for H7827]
The Talmud, referring to the verse, "This is my G-d and I will glorify Him", (Ex.15:2), explains it to mean, that it is our duty to beautify the commandments of G-d as for example to have beautiful scrolls of the Law, beautiful boothes on Succot, and beautiful fringed garments, (Shabbat 133b).
Where in the Torah are we forbidden to say the Name of our Father? If we dont use or speak the name of the Father then indeed we break the Commandment to not bring his name to nought.
Dt 22,12 "Chains shall you make for yourself on the four corners of your clothing which you cover yourself with." Your arms and legs are the four corners of your physical body which is your spirits clothing which you cover yourself with. הֵבִינִשְׁקַל
The commandment of tzitzit is stated in Numbers 15.37-41. So let's look at the whole commandment. [37] "Vayomer [''] el-mosheh leimor" which means "The Lord said to Moses" so this commandment is from the Almighty. [38] begins with "dabeir el-b'nei yisrael" which means 'Speak to the sons of Jacob/Yaakov/Israel'. Now we understand to whom this commandment is given. [39] begins with "vehayah lachem le'tzitzit" which means "this tassel will be for you" referring to whom this commandment is given, stated clearly in the previous verse. [40] continues "le'ma'an tizkeru va'a'sitem et-kal-mitzvotai" which means "so that you will remember and do all My commandments". B'nai yisrael were given "all My commandments" 613 of them, while b'nai noah (sons of Noah - the rest of the world) were given 7 commandments. [41] "asher hotzeiti etkem mei-eretz mitzrayim" which means "that took you out of the land of Egypt". It was b'nai yisrael who were taken out of Egypt. Reading the entire commandment, every verse clearly states tzitzit are for b'nei yisrael.
Any reason why the other threads couldn't be a different color, such as brown? White shows dirt and they get dinghy after a while. The blue thread is a no brainer, but I see no instruction in the Torah that says they must be white. Different colored sets for different clothes makes sense to me. The same goes for length. Long Tzitzit can be hazardous around machinery or other moving objects. They can easily get caught in seatbelts, too. Be careful. I wear them to work and just a small section shows from under my shirts.
Who me? I do not fashion my Tzitziyot according to the Talmud or the Karaite way. The Scriptures mandate only that we have a blue thread running through them and that we were them at four points on our garment. Maybe you were addressing the creator of the video? As for the "traditions of men" some are good and most are bad. Concerning those traditions and the Scriptures, all of them are bad if they add or take away from Torah. Peace be with you.
@KingOystar com·men·tar·y /ˈkämənˌterē/ Noun The expression of opinions or explanations about an event or situation: "an editorial commentary". Obvious troll is obvious.
So says you and others but not the Torah. It's a tradition, not a commandment to say a pray. Know the difference between man made commandments and Yah's. Now if you want say a pray I'm sure that's OK, but to condemn a person because he doesn't say a pray because of a "man made a rule" is not in keeping with the Torah. HIS commandments and HIS alone are what we are to follow.
YHVH bless you and keep you. Yevarechecha Yehovah vahish marecha, precisely what I needed today to keep Toqvah. Shalom from South Africa

This is a commandment in Torah, study ! Thank you for the video. Very good.
Thank you for this video showing how to you use the 10-6-5-6 tie for Abba YHWH shem. This is very informative. Blessings

So very cool~ I appreciate the measurements, and verbal instructions. I like the jig for consistency.
I heard cutting with metal was forbidden?
I think it's because it makes it look "prettier" lol. It's a popular version of the tassels and people like things like this to have meaning... It works for what is commanded, goes on your belt loop easily and provides for the blue strand. I'm sure there are other ways, but this is by far the most popular version.
BEAUTIFUL, Thanks for this, I didn't know about the longer Tekhelet-Blue part
Just remember that is a tradition and not commanded - nor is it condemned.
My wife uses her toes as the jig, so you don't necessarily have to go to a craft shop to buy a jig. She ties great Tzitzis. ;)
That's so cool, a safety pin works nice too.
You can mix FABRIC just not linen and wool
Ever thought of why? A closer/deeper look might be in order.
That’s correct! I wish people would read scripture more accurately
I have a question, the completed tzitzit has "2" blue threads, are we suppose to cut the shorter one off. Thank you so very much for this very easy to understand informative instructional video.

On my new tallit (red stripped) I ordered from Israel last month, on the tzitzits the techelet the wrapping is numbered 7 7 10 13 wondering why its numbered that way?
That is ashcanazi (not sure of spelling).
Should be 7 8 11 13 l think more popular than 10 5 6 5

couldn't I just hammer 2 nails in a board to make the tying jig? or does that board need to be attached to the table?
Beautiful. Thank you for these instructions!
Excellent, thanks for passing us as it does.
I'm sorry but where in the Torah does it command us to pray while tieing a Tzit?

About 2 inches or so. Basically you just want to make a loop big enough for belt loops or Tallit.
Very cool! Thankyou and may Yah bless you:)
Greetings. I can indicate what kind of yarn is used and what is the expesor.
thank you so much from Thailand 😁

Shalom meu irmão ! estes são sepharadi ou ashkenazi???
He said they are Sephardi 🙂
thanks for help bro!! God bless you!
This video takes more of a Karaite approach to making Tzit-Tzit. If it is not mentioned in the text then it is not law.
thank you brother HEAVENLY FATHER bless you

You are very welcome. Glad to help.
Throughout the process of making tzitzit, whenever you make a knot, say "l'shem mitzvat tzitzit." ("for the sake of the commandment of tzitzit").
Yay! Easy tutorial. How do you braid the loop? :)
Thank you, blessings!
The blue is not to remind us about Yeshua's return, it's to remind us to keep torah (unless of course you consider Yeshua to be the Living Torah, then I guess that kind of makes sense).
@offairhead There are many ways to tie them. But the one you heard and ours are the Sephardi and Ashkenazi ways.
Good video, thank you. God bless
Sorry I miss spelled I mean to keep Tiqvah!
Where was white fabric instructed to be used in Scripture?
bën aphar actually it says to put in thelet into tzitzit, which implies white stings and blue strings
Abba Sha’ul interpreted: “And I will 'be like' God”: be like God: just as God is gracious and compassionate, so you be gracious and compassionate.
praise Yahweh
Wow! Alot of weird comments. Anyways I love the video. Thanks
Thank you brother!
Cool video. I make my own form of tzit tzit that are blue accessories. :)
@jackhty1 So we know what the sages say. What about the Torah? Does the Torah say it has to be tied to the garment first? Does Torah say it must be specific strings?

@fuld1234 Chapter and verse please?
Not a very nice comment! Does not Torah tell us that we should love ! I dont think your comment is even close to Love at all , you even go into Name calling! It shows the content of your heart.
how much is a set?
$10US per set. :)
Good video. Thanks
Great Video
Very nice video, although the strings are biblically required to be made of wool, not cotton. Also the blue string is a very specific dye and cannot be any dye. Also, a specific phrase in Hebrew is said when you tie the double knot

1. the cerulean mussel, i.e. the color (violet) obtained therefrom or stuff dyed therewith
[probably for H7827]
My Rabbi says it means turquoise. A blue green color. So interesting the different translations and interpretations.
Toda Rabá.

So much man made doctrine Judaisem or christianity either one when will the sticks come together. Thanks for the video very helpful Shalom1
That guy said Hashem's name out loud in the video! This is crazy. I will use another resource to tie my tzizit.
thank you so much

No problem.
Presumably because there were no belt loops in Moses's day.
The commandment of tzitzit is stated in Numbers 15.37-41. So let's look at the whole commandment. [37] "Vayomer [''] el-mosheh leimor" which means "The Lord said to Moses" so this commandment is from the Almighty.
