Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed after this happened and they were able to move forward. As Joe said here, the problem wasn't vets coming in to work with the younger guys, the problem is when what they started to undo and redirect traffic away from what the core roster of TNA had been doing and what they had accomplished. I think TNA had a decent balance between old guard and new guard, regardless of the place on the card. That doesn't mean they weren't in the main event scene or carrying the gold around, but most seemed to work with the rest of the roster, not against it. Communication breakdowns backstage surely didn't help and we see the fallout from that in any company; TNA's struggles are not unique to them.

I can see both sides of this. On one hand, it was a bit over the line for Joe to bring up Scott's personal issues like that. On the other hand, Hall obviously had no problem being known as a drunk and druggie or he would've worked harder to fix himself earlier in his life. I think the part that Nash took issue with is using the 'drunk' angle again with Hall because it was an absolute disaster when they did it in WCW and only made Hall's problems worse. Nash didn't want to air the dirty laundry or make Hall's situation worse than it already was. Joe didn't really do anything wrong because he didn't know what to do in the situation he was put in.
Joe consolidated it into the best promo of his career, and Angle played it cool. I understand why Nash wasn't happy, but it's part of the act. He also got into it with Piper when they should have been celebrating after an amazing Nitro finish. Nash wasn't happy with Piper's hot start, lol.
