Since it took me a while to get the video edited together and posted, I just got back some scores on these beers this past weekend from other competitions. The NHC judging should have happened this past weekend, but I won't hear the results for a few weeks. Of the two, the American Porter turned out better.
The party balloon is interesting. Is that a closed CO2 transfer, but the balloon gives some flex in the system? Thus you can use gravity and don't need to push the beer out under pressure?
I should put out a video on the balloons. They help with avoiding pulling air into the fermenter when cold crashing or when taking gravity samples from the spigot. There is not enough CO2 in the balloon to fill the headspace, but I do use gravity to transfer into a keg. I have a video on that process here: ruclips.net/video/qs1f369QcLA/видео.html
Sale? These beers did okay in competitions, but the English Porter turned out a bit bland and I got mixed feedback on the American Porter. I did win one Bronze with the American Porter. Thanks for the sub!
Busy, busy, busy........well done :) Looking forward to how they taste and how you do in the competition.
