You are a mystic being, Lillbabs. This is amaaaazzzzing. Well worth the wait. The custom HUD is really cool, would like to see something like that actually in game.
+Wrel Yes please! I was just thinking yesterday about moving my centered HUD elements a little bit to the side, or decreasing their opacity. Dirty Bomb already has a custom HUD feature where players can make their own HUDs.
+Wrel mystical is awesome! :P thank you! the HUD as it is in the video would either be lacking or obtrusive (and I'm sure you feel the same way), but I could be tweaked I guess =) I'm really glad you thought it was cool!
For the custom HUD, that would be awesome and to avoid obstruction, we could change the FOV to keep the same amount of things on screen even with this HUD
I think I know why he put CORNFIELD CHASE and MOUNTAINS from Interstellar... Because the life of planetside 2 is based of this: the humans start to search about a planet, that they can populate, because Earth literally died. Kind of like Interstellar, isnt It?
+Daniel Rudarski Earth didn't die in planetside 2. If you look at the lore, you'll see that they are unable to contact Earth because the wormhole that brought the explorers there collapsed.
The lore of Planetside is actually pretty grim, here's a short version: they are stranded on Auraxis, a strange planet with a lot of alien tech, stranded because the wormhole that brought them here collapsed, the fleet they used, was repurposed into Biolabs, Tech Plants and Amp Stations, one of the last ships that can break orbit was destroyed during the fighting, it was destroyed with the last MORTAL humans who were also generals and admirals. Without any leadership or guidance, with only immortal soldiers left that can't die, they are forever trapped, in a never ending war, that no one can win. That's why there are no civilians or high command left: everyone who could die, died long ago, everyone who can't die, is fighting a never ending war.
+lillbabs It's me! (i'm assuming you're referring to the weird lag kill thing that happened a few days ago!) And you're welcome, I'm already looking forward to the next vid :D
I play Planetside 2 on a horrifically bad potato of a computer, I achieve 10 FPS most of the time. Yet thanks to your incredible works of art, I see the game as it is here in the video. My brain fills in the details, surrendering my essential cognitive filters to the sheer brilliance of soul for which your art is a vessel.
I used to be like you, potato PC, then I got a sick new gaming notebook, 60 fps high settings and all no problems. It felt so good I wanted to cry. But I didn't. Cos I was rekking with my 60fps.
The parts with the HUD were absolutely stunning. You could feel the pressure of the chaotic situation the soldiers were in. You normally don't focus on that during gameplay. This is REAL immersion.
I absolutely love this video. Not only does it capture the strife of PlanetSide2. It also captures the scope of how epic each battle can become. If you have never been a part of a battle where you realize that the things flying over head, the tracers being fired, the tanks and vehicles all around and the infantry at your side deep in the struggle! Than you must download and play this game. It costs nothing!!!!
I cannot for the life of me figure out how you did the bullettime intro :o and that HUD scene combined with the sfx... pure magic, incredible work. Once again!
+MC JamZam Assuming it's not a custom 3D model job (as in, filming the camera movement then superimposing 3D models of the vehicles/player), it's most likely twixtor (it's used heavily throughout the entire thing) with a 3D particle layer with a very deep Z-layer depth and some exaggerated camera movement to add a sense of space, not just movement. The particle layers would be the sparks and flakes you see in each shot. It's one of those things that might look like it's easy to do, but it requires hours and hours to get just right. I am however fairly convinced that the Reaver is superimposed and not actually part of the shot at least. As its angular size doesn't seem to change. And it should be close enough that it would.
This, I believe, is your best and most beautiful cinematic of Planetside 2 to date. The cinematography is intricately interwoven with Hans Zimmer 'Interstellar' Soundtrack thereby creating an emotional and beautiful experience that is this masterpiece.
Man, it's like RNJeesus smiled upon us from his purple chambers up the sky and blessed us with another lillbabs video. While it didn't beat Flawed for me, find this one beautiful. Bonus points for helmet overlays. Very neat.
This is amazing, i was having the shittiest day and then this came out and mad every problem seem so small and little. I love watching your work man, it's truly inspirational and I hope you get the subs that you deserve
Man,simply its amazing,im without words, your clips just pulled tears on my eyes when i remember how many good momnets this game gave us.Im sad to see it dyes.
Greatest PS2-related video i`ve ever seen, if not greatest video overall!! Just amazing, it`s a shame that you aren`t getting employed to making the official Planetside 2 trailers :P. Outstanding work!
The most majestic FUCKN thing in the entire entity of RUclips. This has to be seen by the entire PS2 community, if not daybreak community if not everyone possible. I had the biggest goosebumps ever and was sweating and tearing. Call me emotional but this is just too fuckn good
Wow amazing job man! I wish there were more players in the game right now, it's a lot quieter than when I first played. I sure hope we can keep this game going
This is a beautifully composed video. The consistent quality, and attention to detail that is put into your videos is truly astounding. I really enjoy the way the video reflects the perspectives of the three factions within the war so strongly. My only critique of this video is that the contrast of some of the clips might enjoy being lowered slightly. That only even applies to about 2 or 3 of the shots in the video. Fantastic video, once again, Lillbabs! Keep up the great work.
wow! Every single video of yours is just truly amazing! Can't even begin to imagine how long each of them took to make. Also that HUD! Everything is just.... Words can not express! By the way, I like Chaumes Cheese aswell however, my favorite cheese is Parmigiano-Reggiano aka Parmesan Cheese!
I really don't like to compare your videos in regards to their quality as they're all amazing as hell - but this has to be my favourite. Makes me think of coming back to Planteside... Masterpiece!
That score is so fucking moving, and you did a lot with the visuals to have them work together well. There's a lot of work put into those shots and transitions, tons of small subtle things too, good shit dude, putting in the work and reaping the rewards. You earned it
im speechless, I mean umm... just... Oh my.... you are just inspiring. Its like Christmas morning for an 8 yr old when I see you on my youtube subscriptions with a (1) next to your name!!! SOO good. I think its fair to say this has been your best work so far. I cant wait to see what else you will make in the future. No matter what kind of videos come in the future you have my support and audience for many YEARS to come! Bravo!
Shit like this blows my mind, i have been playing around in sony vegas for quite a bit aswell, but stuff like this makes everything i ever acomplished look like complete horse shit that a newborn made, this is so good i cant even describe it, the flow, the animations, everything
Absolutely fantastic! I wish I have your skills and I'm jealous how high quality your videos have ... I would like to know how to achieve such thing. and... that 8bit ps2 advertisement at the end - hahaha so awesome!
Lillbabs i may have stopped playing planetside 2, but i will never stop watching your videos. if you had a voice over it would say "There is nothing wrong with your television. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are now in control of the transmission. We control the horizontal and the vertical. We can deluge you with a thousands channels, or expand one single image to crystal clarity and beyond. We can shape your vision to anything our imagination can conceive. For the next hour, we will control all that you see and hear." 8) love you. never stop.

thank you! the HUD as it is in the video would either be lacking or obtrusive (and I'm sure you feel the same way), but I could be tweaked I guess =) I'm really glad you thought it was cool!
lillbabs Maybe there's a way to make it an overlay similar to Recursion or center-screen dot overlays?
For the custom HUD, that would be awesome and to avoid obstruction, we could change the FOV to keep the same amount of things on screen even with this HUD
+lillbabs The HUDs are great! You did an awesome job with my unfinished work! ;) btw Thanks for the credits!
The interstellar music goes so well with it.
I think I know why he put CORNFIELD CHASE and MOUNTAINS from Interstellar...
Because the life of planetside 2 is based of this:

Kind of like Interstellar,isnt It?
+Daniel Rudarski
Earth didn't die in planetside 2. If you look at the lore, you'll see that they are unable to contact Earth because the wormhole that brought the explorers there collapsed.
+Raging Agent Yeah,you are right.I write on a tablet,and I meant Earth literally dies.

The parts with the HUD were absolutely stunning. You could feel the pressure of the chaotic situation the soldiers were in. You normally don't focus on that during gameplay. This is REAL immersion.
still holds up in 2021... refreshing.
I absolutely love this video. Not only does it capture the strife of PlanetSide2. It also captures the scope of how epic each battle can become. I absolutely love these types of cinematic, where the world would slow down or stop as the camera passes through. Gorgeous.
woooow these videos are just amazing!! You have a very big talent for this!!
thx dude :)
+lillbabs what do u use to edit
+Markoanator 808 after effects
Are u preparing any upcoming projects?
I cannot for the life of me figure out how you did the bullettime intro :o and that HUD scene combined with the sfx... pure magic, incredible work. Once again!

+runescaper1333 song fits both of these so great!

Epicness everywhere
+Moukass
That's genius...
I remember talking with you ingame lillbabs, a few months ago, I actually feel like I met Steven Spielberg.
Man, it's like RNJeesus smiled upon us from his purple chambers up the sky and blessed us with another lillbabs video. While it didn't beat Flawed for me, find this one beautiful. Bonus points for helmet overlays. Very neat.

OrbitalNukeIncomin Richten meta
+OrbitalNukeIncomin Richten "Papa Vanu", enough said.
+OrbitalNukeIncomin Richten Pretty sure it was like a little reference to interstellar.
Uncanny, I just finished watching Interstellar when you posted this. Easily some of the most evocative music ever made.

Visually overwhelming anniversary homage to the game, Christopher Nolan should take notice.
Thank you for breathing life into my favourite pass-time.
