    Anthony, enjoyed the video...very informative. I recently had invidia gemini catback fitted and it's exactly what i wanted..close to stock at idle but deeper and has an edge to it on full throttle. Love how it burbles and pops on overrun too, and no drone. Quality is on a par with your tanabe but its a dual with x over behind resonators...noticed you mentioned the ground clearance issue with some systems and ive seen the gemini fitted on another RUclips vid with the rear pipe UNDER the ARB!...It fits both ways but obviously should go over, so anyone about to fit this exhaust should be aware. Keep up the good work

    Awesome video! IMO, cheap aftermarket exhausts are often a great value. I bought a catback exhaust for my Civic from Spec D Tuning for $110 shipped, and it's decent. My biggest complaint is that there is a low spot that scrapes from time to time, but even if I pay an exhaust shop $50 to modify the pipe so it doesn't scrape, it's still a great value IMO.

    Out of interest, does the motordyne have a higher pitch? I suspect it’s louder compared to yours- is that true? At one stage I was seriously considering the MD with stock cats but was deterred due to the excessive volume.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  6 лет назад

      I think mine would have a higher pitch (the mic doesn't pick everything and depends on the speakers you're listening to). The Tanabe systems are tested at 93 decibels before release. Mine is probably a little louder than 93 db because I'm modified but im pretty sure it's more quiet than a Motordyne muffler setup because I can't hear it that much in the cab. I believe Motordyne muffles using the Advanced Resonance Tuning while the Tanabe (well my whole setup) uses traditional perforated tube with a sound deadening material they call Advantex.

    • @101TheKMan
      @101TheKMan 6 лет назад

      Your exhaust definitely sounds cleaner to my ears compared
      to the MD. I’d be curious to know if you have any drone? Through deliberation I went with the fast intentions traditional catback a while back and regretted it until the day I sold it; massive waste of money. It was way too boomy and loud in cabin (especially around the 2100-2500 rpm range)- this is with stock cats. The fruitiness of the VQ was gone… I ended up selling my HR, though do miss it at times. If I ever got another one, I’d do thorough sound deadening (acoustishield kit) first and upgrade my exhaust in stages similar to what you did. Love the videos btw- very insightful!

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  6 лет назад

      @@101TheKMan I don't think it will drone, believe it or not my cheap setup didn't drone on the highway. The new setup is even better just looking at the materials and listening to it. Which is why I like it for longer drives. We'll see when I put it through real world testing.

      No issues, I'm using the theory it's a heat sink to help dissipate heat and I guess it adds to the volume of the intake ever so slightly. Not sure if it helps atomize the air and fuel mixture on a port injection engine. But no complaints.
      It's the only mod I seem to keep doing but am not sure how effective it is. That's why I picked this design so it hopefully acts like a heat sink and the "fins" let off the heat.
