    Hey guys, a heartfelt thank you for joining me for this most incredible and emotional journey. I found it hard to speak at the end of this video, but really, it was an experience of a lifetime and I don't predict I'll feel this way about another game again. If you watched all the series, thank you, I know it was a long one and it means a lot to have people enjoying it with me.
    If you need me, I'll be building my extensive zip line network 🐋 Keep on keeping on

      Btw. Did you see the post cedits? And if so, what did you think of the cute plot twist? :)

    • @gottagowork
      @gottagowork 2 года назад +2

      @@CrazeeAdam There's a lot more to that than just being a "cute" plot twist - it's a trigger to the mystery "who is BB-28?" - a mystery that haven't been sparked yet but the player have been give a lot of clues to. She should continue playing the game for a while and obtain Lucy's Reports by delivering "all" packages (or cheat or check them out online). Then keep in mind a breaking of the fourth wall that happened during the "hug scene", where it's not Amelie talking to Sam, but Kojima talking to the player, going "...to connect the dots, to make sense of everything, you need perspective. You need time". If you understand the implications of Lucy's Reports and restart the game understanding how the "game world works" (beaches not being shared without a strong connection, meaning of the color blue, difference between doll and BB tech for repatriation, different levels of DOOMS etc), you start piecing together a different narrative.
      The beauty is it doesn't even matter. Most players have a conclusive ending to the game and an experience to remember - even if they don't restart the game and learn more. Let's just say I'm not where I am now wrt understanding by watching a single let's play - I've seen 40+ full let's plays with more on the horizon and I'm still picking up tiny clues.

      Wow, Emma, thank you soooooooo much for sharing your heart and feelings with us. Your honesty and transparency in sharing your experiences with us are why you are my favorite game-playthrough-content-maker. This game also touched me like no other. I'm a 59 year old man and also feel things deeply, and I cried just as much as you in those last few hours of the game. Maybe more. It really touched me deeply, like no other game ever has. And watching you experience that part very much as I did was amazing. Hideo Kojima is an absolute genius, and it was an absolute joy to share that experience with you. Thank you, thank you, thank you! And congratulations on your engagement!

      I share that feeling, no other game, movie, show, or book will ever live up to this masterpiece. I feel bad for the people who aren't willing to play this game (my friends included) because its a "walking simulator" 🙄

    I played this game around the time my first kid was born, but there wasn't much time for gaming. So several times every day, I would strap my baby to my chest, go for a walk until he fell asleep, and then come inside and walk on the spot to keep him napping while I played this game. I don't know if any game will connect with me emotionally like this one did.

    Die-Hardman's and Clifford's monologues utterly destroyed me. As did BB's Theme as we embarked on our final delivery. I could barely see half the ending when I played it because I was too busy blubbering relentlessly, lol.

    I don't know if you caught on this Emma as it was subtle, but Lou was actually dead and was resurrected by Amelie at the end. This is why he was holding a quipu - it came back from the beach where Amelie repatriated it, the same way she did Sam, as a last act of love towards him and by sending the quipu with BB from the Beach, giving him a message that she is still there and they are connected despite being forever out of reach. However, this repatriation out of love and compassion is what finally ended the Death Stranding (as can be seen at the very end with the rainbow no longer inverted and regular rain) as opposed to Sam's repatriation out of pitty and guilt which is what started it in the first place. The whole story came full circle and ended on a brilliant , poetic note. Similar to you, I was just sitting at the credits listening to the beautiful and bittersweet song thinking about this absolute EXPERIENCE and all the memories I would cherish within. It made me feel so grateful to be alive and conscious❤

    My parents gifted this game to my youngest brother who is 15 years old as a christmas present. He didnt played that much because he thought it was difficult and boring. So I, being 24 years went into the game with no expectations. I was so blown away by it. The music, the landscape, the topics the games dealt with. And that finale, omg, it conpletely broke me. I cried as a child, I always felt things very deeply. But damn, I cant remember the last time I cried like this. Such a beautiful game. Really hit on the key emotions. Watched most of ur playthroughs vids of it just to re-experience the whole thing while Im preparing to my finals exams of psychology and your attitude and commentary rocks. Subscribed, hope ur doing good!

      So, 16:47 - have you done that yet? That's Kojima talking directly to the player. You mentioned finishing up your zipline network, I assume that means doing some deliveries - deliveries that may unlock some *VERY* spicy information. If you want to skip it, you can look up Lucy's report/interview online. And with that information in mind, maybe replay the game or watch someone elses let's play who picks up on other clues. Also there is a certain side story reveal on the first map regarding a certain other important character, added to the directors cut version.

    I'm so sad you didnt get to capture the post credit final twist in this. Its funny that it is possible to figure these twists out, and when you play again you see it much more clearly, but its the directing of this game and story that make it work so well. Because the twists in the story are for us the audience, not the actual characters. Sam, die hardman, deadman, they all know exactly who sam is, and sam always knows the memories are not really Lou's. Its so crazy to craft a story where the characters know whats going on, but the viewer gets it revealed so spectacularly. Loved watching you go through the game, and love seeing people be as impacted as i was.

    This is the genius of Hideo Kojima's world building: Emmalition herself said at the 22:44 mark "I'm not ready, I don't feel ready". Wouldn't those be the words of a lost ghost? He captured that gloomy transcendental experience in the player, especially when Sam turns monochromatic, lifeless, a phantom...

    Game was brilliant. I think it's crazy that so many people have preconceived notions of what they think the game is (a boring walking simulator), but there is so much more to it. So many are going to miss out on the experience of this game. Was so happy that all the craziness and weirdness was mostly all explained at the end. It all made sense when I realized it wasn't BB's flashacks you were seeing all throughout the game, it was your flashbacks, and your BB was basically just a random BB. And, I thought the end was awesome. Tricks you multiple times thinking it's over. The last delivery really got to me. Probably the most emotional a game as ever had me.

    I'm so glad that you enjoyed the experience! I wonder if you knew how much you'd love the game when you started.
    If you had any ending questions because it was a huge Info dump as Sam ran on his beach, (one of my only complaints of the game) the BTs (Dead) were crossing over Amalie/Bridget's beach back to the land of the living, and it happened because she brought Sam back from the dead. It also started Timefall & Dooms and the people with Dooms had Bridget/Amalie's visions of the end of the world, as dreams.
    At the end, When Bridget brought Lou(ise) back to be with Sam, she finally closed her beach off, (to be there until the next extinction, like she told Sam), So that's why there's no more Timefall, and the rainbow you see, is the correct way up.

    How did you not realise by this point that Cliff was Sam's Father? lmao. He was hunting down Sam thinking that Lou was his child not initially realising that so much time had passed from when he was alive and that his son had all grown up. Sense of reality and awareness of time must be completely warped for a BT. All of those memories Sam was witnessing about Cliff, when he plugged into BB, were Sam's memories of his father.

    After watching this again, I'm thinking that the "unsung hero" is not actually Sam, but the player. That it's not Die-Hardman addressing the UCA, but rather Kojima addressing us.

    Hilarious how characters in the game were supposed to think Die Hardman was a different person from John just because he wore a mask that didn't even cover his whole face, lmao. Tommy Earl Jenkins absolutely killed the role though, his final speech was some incredible acting.

    I was kinda curious if anyone was surprised by the fact that Sam was Cliff's baby and he was seeing his own memories. I felt like it was really obvious from super early on, so wasnt sure if it was meant to be a huge reveal or not. I guess it was for some people. Would have been a cool reveal if it wasnt so obvious

    The "BB" at the very end here was actually Sam himself! He was getting flashbacks of his own life, through his connection to the current "BB", Lou. 😉 Some people were sort of confused about all that. It's not the same BB. There's the "BB" Lou, that you run around with during the whole game... and then there's flashbacks of the time when Sam himself was in the "BB" program.

All Preppers, hot springs etc What better quality label for a video game ? Specially important for all emails, diaries to discover Lucy's story, Fragile's story family questions, also about the baby that Sam is carying. Thank you anyway for your videos which make me relive so many emotions of this wonderful masterpiece Wait next episode

    I did try to warn you there was a lot more content, and a post credit scene... There's just no way to be subtle and say, "the post credit scene is after the third time the credits roll" without spoiling at least some of the immersion and emotional impact. 🤷‍♂️
    Given that your pinned comment shows that you are in the free roam post game, it would stand to reason you did see the final post-credit scene, even if you didn't film your reaction. Would have loved to see that as well, but at least good to know you had the experience. A part of me wouldn't be surprised if, after you've had a few weeks or months to really digest things, you put out your own "post playthrough" commentary and add one last video to this playlist. 😁 Keep on keeping on. 👍👍👍👍👍

      I’ll never forget in Gab Smolders comment section some incel lecturing her for having the same thought and how “he can’t believe she could be so heartless over Amelie’s plight.” Like bruh! She has groomed a child his entire life to be her weird son/brother/lover thing. She’s irredeemable.

    • @KabbalahSherry
      @KabbalahSherry Год назад +5

      @-- - WTF?! 😅 She never "groomed" him to be her lover! What a weird statement. Where did you even get that vibe from?
      Bridget raised Sam as her son, to basically make up for the fact that she had rendered him an orphan. The whole reason he is a "repatriate" is because she brought him back to life after he had been accidentally shot. Something she never intended to happen, and was horrified by.
      She used her soul, Amelie, to be a friend & sister to Sam, when he would sometimes run to the beach, scared or lonely. She knew what that felt like... because her soul had been stranded there for a long time too.
      I'm not excusing ALL that Bridget/Amelie did, but... she didn't "groom" him to be anything other than a regular family member for crying out loud. 🥴 lol
      And tbh, the entire "BB" program is wild anyway.
      I mean, they're taking premature babies out of their mother's wombs while they're in a coma, and using the babies as hardware for their internet network. The whole thing is bizarre.
      And yet... YOU yourself, use one of these preemie babies, for the entire game. In fact, you couldn't have done everything that you did, and reconnected the country, without it, as these babies are the only thing that connects both the worlds of the living & the dead.
      And it' a technology that Bridget developed.
      She did all that she could to help save the world from what was coming, because there was NO other way to stop it.
      No easy decisions were made here. The whole thing is like a Shakespearean tragedy, really. Nobody wins, but, life can continue at least.
      Bridget/Amelie is a very complex character to be sure, and I'm not saying I would have made all of the choices she did... but she really couldn't help that she had been born into this world, connected to a Beach that was set to bring all of our extinction.
      But what you find out is: there had been 5 previous extinctions, and SHE helped to prevent the 6th. So she's not evil.
      Questionable? Yes. 🤷🏻‍♀️🫤 Evil? No.

    • @ian9859
      @ian9859 5 месяцев назад

      @@Emmalitionif you think about it, its Amelie who paid the ultimate price here. Not Sam. Not Cliff. She did everything in her power to go against her sole purpose. She tried to understand/save humanity from extinction. She killed Cliff in the process but now Cliff is resting. She dont have that luxury. She was asked by Sam to keep staying in that lonely dimension for possibly hundreds of thousands of years so that humanity could survive. And she obliged.
      Running in that shore for a few moments frustrated was Kojima's way of showing you how hard it was. But she, she had to stay there for like eternity🙁
