    One thing you might want to look into is the Replicator Initiative. Basically because of the Ukraine war, the US military has been seeing that cheap little drones in huge numbers, while not a replacement for the big expensive drones, are their own new thing, and this is an area the US wants to dominate as well.
    Drones like the Predator and Reaper are seen as replacement equivalents of fighters and bombers, but the Replicator Initiative is to make a class of drones that are more akin to a replacement for artillery shells, not where we have a fleet of a couple hundred, but where we produces 10s of thousands, or even100s of thousands of small, cheap, kamikaze drones every year that even if your air defense can shoot down 10,000 of them in 5 minutes, there will be so many, it will completely overwhelm any air-defense system, and at least a couple of them will get through and hit their targets. I've seen plans for new kinds of US Navy drone motherships where the goal is to be able to flood the skies with 5000 drones within 15 minutes of an order being given to provide both offensive and defensive capabilities as well as practical omniscience for an entire battlefield.

    While Russia had spies in the US who were working to get atomic tech, Russia separately was still developing the bomb. During and after WWII, Nazi scientists developing the bomb either got to the west were the US took them to the US or they were captured by the USSR. It was only a matter of time and effort and Russia would have such a weapon even if no helpful tech was taken out of the US.

    12:31 There is no real point in making a stealth version of the A-10 Warthog. If it is being used correctly its threats don't come from radar guided SAM'S or enemy fighters. It is designed to fly low and slow with means that ground fire is its biggest threat, which stealth doesn't help deal with.

    • @shaneg9081

    • @MrVvulf
      @MrVvulf 8 месяцев назад +2

      I was going to write something similar but decided to search comments first. As you say, stealth is virtually pointless in a close combat support aircraft since it flies low and slow. Generally the A10 is used in conflicts where air superiority has already been established. After air superiority exists, the next priority is taking out the enemy anti-aircraft. The US does its best to avoid situations where ground troops operate in a theater with hostile aircraft, and the A10's primary role is supporting those troops.

    • @marktisdale7935
      @marktisdale7935 8 месяцев назад +1

      @MrVvulf To be more exact, we don't use the A-10 when we just have air superiority. We use it when we have air supremacy. Which means that the opponent is incapable of getting their aircraft into the sky.

No _night vision,_ Limited gps, and limited _battlefield communications and connectivity._ An American soldier's load out is roughly $15,000. When you see videos of troops on patrol, those packs weigh between 50 to 75 pounds (25-35 kilos). Our body armour is real plate armour, not pressed cardboard. Our weapons are precision manufactured and our training is continuous and often done with live ammo. Neither china or russia do as much live fire and tactical training.

    FYI the bombs used in Japan are absolutely tiny.
    15-21 kiloTons or 15,000-21,000 tons of tnt
    Modern units
    Are 200,000-6,000,000 tons
    The old ones had about 1mile blast radius. Modern units can exceed 30 miles. Blast radius is the directly vaporized thermal event. The core of the event is the actual effective radius that can exceed 75 miles caused by the pressure wave and thermal radiation from the cloud and the returning air.

    There is an even bigger advantage to drones than most people think if a full scale war broke out. If you wanted to really ramp up manufacturing, large numbers of planes or drones can be built in a matter of days, but it takes years to train a really good pilot. So even if you suffer massive loses to drone aircraft, they could quickly be replaced as long as you don`t lose your well trained pilots.
    The down side to drones is signal lag. A lot of information has to flow both ways, to and from, a drone for it to be remotely controlled. And those signals often have to bounce around various components of a command and control network. A couple of seconds of signal lag doesn`t sound like much, but when the drone and the targets are moving at high speeds it becomes a real issue.

    A stealth A-10 sounds really cool in theory, but in practice it really doesn't work for two reasons.
    The first is that the A-10 is built to be durable and cheap. Steath tech as of now is kinda fragile and very expensive.
    The second is that the A-10 is kind of a blocky shape, it has these really thick and straight wings, podded engines and a H-shaped tail. These are great for maintaining control at low speeds and altitude. For a stealth aircraft you want relatively thin and angled wings, engines buried deep in the fuselage, and as few square angles as possible.
    The short version is the design parameters for A-10 like planes and stealth planes are on opposite ends of the spectrum, and trying to fuze the two is more than likely going to be like mixing oil and water. There's just not much you can do to make an A-10 stealty without the cost going way up, and likewise there's not much you can do to a steath plane to make it a good low-and-slow preformer.
    Think of it this way: if the A-10 is a sledgehammer, the stealth fighter is a scalpel. They each have their own way of doing ground attack that is suited to their design strengths.

    Hello from Switzerland, when it comes to aircraft, stealth technology is such a thing. Of course, you shouldn't (or hardly) be able to see it on the radar, but at daytime, at a lower altitude, you can see it with the naked eye . For the B-2 bomber (by the way, take a look at the development of the Horten H IX from World War II for comparison) this might be unnecessary anyway, as it retains its altitude, but for example the F-35, which is supposedly partly or is supposed to take over the role of the A-10 entirely, this is likely to be a problem. I think an A-10 with stealth technology would be interesting, but again, low altitude, so it can be seen by eye and once it uses its cannon, it is also visible on radar (since the cannon has to be covered in order to to be "invisible"). I also doubt that the "new" A-10 can retain the advantages of the old one, especially when it comes to the survivability of the machine and pilot (which is additionally protected with a titanium hull).
    I'm not so sure if you'll get compensation for your suggestion, sorry. 😛🤣
    Ok, based on your second suggestion, you should definitely apply to Lockheed Martin ("Skunk Works" department), you have the potential 😊.

  • @chriskuzianik9507
    @chriskuzianik9507 8 месяцев назад

    There's no need for the A10 to be stealthy. It's a ground attack plane and capable of flying below radar levels. You're just trying to make it scarier, and I'm not sure that's possible. Hell, they may add a clause to the Geneva Accords calling it a war crime to make such a thing!

    One of the biggest key secrets about stealth vehicles is to not have any right angles to help minimize the radar deflection. Also the type of material that coats a fighter is important as well. I will not go into the nature of that information. That is why the stealth fighter that you just saw it looks so weird is it follows the rules necessary to become low profile on the radar. Of course they learned you didn’t have to have straight lines so much and you could do curved surfaces which is actually a little better if you follow the proper geometry. And still isn’t perfect either. You could end up with a harmonic signature if you have too much material following the same line or aligned in a certain way. Again I will not going Into details

    I can tell you EVERY americans knew we were isolationists. We learned that early in history classes in WW1 and the reluctance to join the league of nations. It wasn't until WW2 and the "sleeping giant" industry of america modernized and pumped out more weapons, cars, tanks, ships then any other country. We were the sole reason europe did not eventually collapse. The problem was at that point we became so heavily involved in reconstitution but also protecting europe from the soviet union that it became impossible to leave.
    Today, when the world is at odds, many people argue "where is america?" but when we are involved its "why is america always involved? its because everyone knows as the worlds only superpower, if push comes to shove, this nation will set aside all arguments and issues and work together. That why China and Russia should be fearful, unity during wartime will drive the victory. Yes at some point if the war drags on we begin to question it, because despite what many countries think, the US is not a warlike or warmongering nation.

    You should look into AI Quantum computing with swarm escort technology with the real stealth plane! A-10 and AC-130 Gunships are Attackers not Fighters so not needed because Attackers are used when air superiority is established! But it would be cool if there is a new A-10 plane that is getting replaced with a Super A-10 that may get a new name! Obrigado

    I designed precision weapons sensors in the 70s and 80s. You have no idea what they could do then, i left the business in 1990, and they are far more advanced now.
    I also worked on several Space Defense Initiative programs. The media laughed at us then.
    This stuff ain't funny to me. I've seen photo of some of the charred Iraqi bodies on the "Highway of Death". The least I could do for their poor souls.

    Russia certainly does not have any position guided ammunitions and if they do, they'd all been used up by this point or there's too few of them to actually use on the offensive, but rather hopefully to defriend for when the Ukrainians announced a novel a breakthrough. I don't think you understand the American motto of "peace through strength".
    Too bad you don't get to see why the United States was formed. Under the Articles of Confederacy there was a weak central government. The states began fighting among themselves. Some states could call in European allies, and the states could end up like Europe constantly warring. Those drafting the Constitution wanted to prevent this.
    There's an ethos within Americans that believes we treat allies no different than Americans. As a result, conquest with the idea of subjugation is not part of our DNA. Our modern military is more like a global police force.

  • @frankymr2
    @frankymr2 8 месяцев назад

    The thing about other nations precission weapons other than natos, they are not as precise, you can see it in ukraine, russians pressicion weapons are hitting the wrong targets and inocent people 1 out 10 hit thr right target. The usa is 9 out of 10. As to drones theres been testing of stelth drones that fly off carriers and dont need a human pilot it flies itself, not even a operator on the ground is needed.

    Indeed, it does seem that unstable governments with nuclear weapons could be problematic.
    But you gotta ask yourself, we created it, they stole it. Did they learn about the little details that make it work?

    Do you think passenger planes should be flown remotely like a drone?

    • @Name-nq7tj
      @Name-nq7tj 8 месяцев назад +1

      would be interesting you could theoretically have a room and have like hundreds of planes flying and just have a group of people to land the planes when at the destination or help out when something happens. The only issue I could see is I don't know what would happen if something big happens as there might be situations that need people there on the plane to solve that can't be done remotely.

    I think “ precision “ weapons should also be taken with a grain of salt……several militaries have these weapons and yet in any conflict that they are used in…….the powers that use them always have to explain their errors. How many hospitals, schools civilian areas have been destroyed by a “ precision “ weapon that was targeting a military stronghold………Not very precise!

    • @Name-nq7tj
      @Name-nq7tj 8 месяцев назад

      I think I heard statistics on the success of landed hits are much higher but of course don't seem to be 100%. But even a 50% hit rate though sounds low would already be way higher than it was.

    The ultimate defense of America is her citizens. There are more guns than people here. Sure, some people here don’t like guns. Many more people strongly support our Second Amendment. Gun rights are expanding in America, despite what you hear. Constitutional carry is spreading.
    You never know who is carrying a gun. I’m a 59 year old housewife. I live in the suburbs and I’m pretty basic. I’ve had a concealed carry permit for over three decades. I practice at a range and we shoot skeet in summer.
    Point is, I know how to use my weapon and I’m just an old lady. I am the militia. Lots of people here identify themselves as militia. They get it. The United States is impossible to successfully invade because of our Second Amendment.
