Matthew you've taught me something this evening. That's the first time I've seen anyone use a box scrape to cut a ditch with. I've done it several times with a terracing blade but not with a box scrape. That's a good looking ditch that should divert the water fine.
Thanks Mark. You can do a lot more with a box blade than most folks realize. It's a very versatile implement.
hey cool video! that turned out pretty good! I like the break up with the chickens, roosters, the sense of humor and the Bible. Not a lot of folks are brave enough to mention Biblical stuff. I need to do something similar but instead of a ditch I'd like to make larger swale. btw, I too hate snakes
Thanks for the comment. You can make a larger swale with the same type setup. It just takes a little time. The Lord said in the Bible to let your light shine so we let it shine here. God bless.
Looks good great idea to divert the water 💦
Thanks. It seems to be working. We had a heavy rain the next day.
Good point about the serpent in the garden, definitely something to ponder. We know the devil can take many forms. See if you can send a little of that rain over here to west Tennesse. No need for us to plant till we can get a little rain. Thanks in advance.
Hopefully y'all will get some rain soon. We were able to work the ground Sat in the garden and plant beans just before it started raining again. We went from drought to jungle.... Afterthought here...I was telling Lisa I've never been further west in TN than a place called McMinnville many years ago to turkey hunt and it was some beautiful country. We will be praying for y'all to get some rain and soon.
Rodney here. Old school works@
Old school is right on
Hey how much you lift the box blade from the ground on one side to cut the ditch. and also can you go in reverse to do the same operation cutting the ditch? Thanks
@@Cicada17XIII I usually lift one side as far as the 3 point linkage allows. To cut go forward. That will work best
If Im making runoffs along the ditch I would need to go backwards right?
@Raffuentes030999 yes that should work. Depending on your soil type will be how effective it is
Basically it is red clay at the mountains
@Raffuentes030999 just take your time and you'll get it done
Don't think the serpent crawled on his belly like snakes today since God cursed him to that position. And in the Garden, because there was no sin in the beginning both Adam and Eve would have been comfortable around a "snake."
That's the way I read it too. One day I won't mind being around snakes any longer.
Yes, agreed that before sin, they don't know what fear is, everything living in harmony. We have lots of rocks (small size to laundry basket) on our property. We have spent time and money trying to fix it so now just leaving it alone because the force of the rain kept washing the dirt out and expose the bed rock. Until we have enough money to hire professional to do it right then we will just have to leave with it. We have tried 4 time to top the road with more rocks and trying to fix the side trench ourselves with box blades, still the force of rain will erode away our rocks and carried it off to the lowest area which looks like a good place to dig a pond there. Thanks.
