GREAT video. My "all original" 81 started knocking last week and Im in the process of purchasing a turnkey 383 stroker. Been a couple decades since I did anything like this but this video was just what I needed for some much needed motivation! Great job guys!
Congratulations! That's a great feeling when you can move your car under its own power again. By the way, when the C3 is backing out of the garage, it sounds a bit like Alex Van Halen's Hot for Teacher Drum intro solo! lol
So I’ve been thinking about getting a c3 and modding it and either swapping the engine so the car will last longer or modding the one already in it but I was wondering what price either of them would usually cost???
Just did the same thing to my 1979. Well not me but a shop. Hey my question to you is what should i do with the old engine. Let them have it or what? This thing about numbers matching car. A little history is six years ago i had a fat cam put into the engine. I now have grey hairs because the vacuum never had a chance to build up. The shop said hey put a new engine in the car because to find out what cam was put into it, take it out and replace with the right one, you still will have a block that is how old. Should i get the engine or as they say it's a paper weight.
It all depends on your storage situation. If you have a place to put it, it wouldn't be bad to get it back. It can be rebuilt, or even sold later on. Even since you changed the cam, you can get the stock cam to put back in it. If you ever sell it "later on" you can at least have the #'s matching engine to go with it.
I'm about to do the same with a 79, this video gave me much of what I needed.

Absolutely gorgeous car 👍🇺🇸
this is pretty darn awesome!!! Good job boys!!!
Thank you! It was a very rewarding project, for sure!
@@Paulie_KITT did you by any chance make a list of all the parts you used for this project?
and their prices?
What engine did you put guys? Did it take too much work to replace?
It is a 355 c.i. from Hot Rod Engines. It's pretty much an in and out affair!
