Usually if a home can't sell, something is wrong with it, or the neighborhood it is in. It's not smart to buy a house located near a river due to the risk of flooding.
Besides all the "buyer beware" reasons not to get too excited about purchasing an old mansion, these places require domestic workers inside and out. Also the area zoning laws may require historic homes to be restored with natural building materials. So we are talking the well-known Money Pit here!

I eventually sold it because it had led pipes that could have caused potential poisoning and they fought me for 2 years to keep the integrity of the home intact. I was never so happy to leave someplace I loved so much.
Just guessing here, since it's not explained why these properties aren't selling - but many large homes end up having staggering, yearly property taxes, combined with upkeep costs that end up being hundreds of thousands of dollars you'd have to shell out every 12 months, often simply because of their locations, which make them incredibly tough to sell. This means that middle class buyers who could afford the basic cost, can't afford to keep them and more wealthy people can do better in areas with lower property taxes - so they end up just sitting there.
One of them is close to me he said was 299,000. Not sure how he gets his info but none of it is correct. the vintage home in TX listed for sell at 450,00 back in 2019 and sold. Zillow now has it Est at 669,000

These houses are nice. I see many in comments saying they’re not for sale or they sold for more. But what I have to say is why was it thought that no one wants them?
Property Tax, Upkeep Cost, Utilities alone would bankrupt most people even if they got the house for free, it would be an awesome bed and breakfast or fancy motel.
Dude. Not to call you out, but I have a couple questions. I've searched and found Kalamazoo in 5 states; Nebraska, Arkansas, West Virginia, Florida, and of course, Michigan. NOT in Missouri. Also, is this video not the same one you put out quite a while ago? I remember checking on three of these houses and found that none of them, at the time I saw this video before, were for sale. AND, the ones that had been sold were way more than your $300,000 quote. Where did you get your info from, AND, on getting the info, did you not check it out? I think the cost of up - keeping a large house, plus the taxes and property maintaince puts off a lot of buyers. Most older homes are expensive to heat in the winter and keep cool in the summer ... I am quite content to live in my 3 bedroom bungalow.
The home in Wild Rose Wisconsin is an absolute gem. The barn is located across the road from the main residence. I think it be ideal for anyone with a large family wanting a rural location.
I pulled up the Frank Loyd Wright house on Henderson in Texas on Zillow and it’s sold in 2019 and it’s not currently listed for sale. Not sure where you’re getting your stats.
Odd that this video came out in Aug. 2022, but the listing for 2023 S Henderson Blvd, Kilgore, TX 75662 was sold Oct. 15, 2019. I guess someone did want it.
It’s definitely worth preserving the homes in the video, they are all beautiful! My house was build in 1930 and almost 4,000sq ft, and we love it. Although older homes aren’t for everyone, not everyone considers them a nightmare!
Usually when nobody wants a cheaply priced mansion it’s because either the taxes are insanely high or the maintenance costs are even higher. Probably a mix of both not to mention utilities per month.
