First car was a 1969 Chevrolet Nova (US). Bought it from my girlfriend because I didn't have a car and she wanted to get a better one. Windshield and rear window seals were gone by the time I got it in 1979. When you drove it in the rain, water dripped from the rear view mirror. No problem though because it ran out through rust holes in the floor pan. I wanted to mount speakers in the cut outs under the rear window, but most of the metal had rusted away back there too. Sold it to Weird Wally, a local used car dealer who specialized in selling the cheapest used cars in town. It was a piece of junk, but it was reliable junk. Thanks for the video.

I've seen end-of-life vans with cleaner interiors than this. What a turnaround, now looks like new and I bet it smells fresh now. To all the silicone-haters: The silicone spray, in fact, has a good place in the arsenal if used correctly, in that it can minimise and fill some scuff damage to trim, and then a quick wipe over the sprayed surface with a relegated microfibre gives a satin-like, newer-interior look, I find. I primarily use it on lower interior trim pieces and seat rails myself. I would never use it on leather or anything the driver touches as it will make these items look shiny, cheap and used. Also, my first car was J903 GHU, which was a Polaris Grey Sierra Sapphire 1.8 LX. I found it comfortable and quite fast. At the time, it looked quite smart with its dark grey paint, dark rear lights and numberplate panel and red bumper and moulding in-fills.

My first car was a 1969 Dodge Monaco, former police car with a 383 cubic inch engine, real American muscle beast. I was 17 and had no idea how fast it was until I almost missed a curve at over 140 MPH and nearly ended up in a river! Ask your mate how he could drive it with all the bad smells! I'm real picky about how my car smells inside, and its always clean and no trash ever. That moldy fruit had to smell terrible! Keep up the great videos!

That van is fairly typical of how some work vehicles are treated. One bloke I work with, his vehicle is only two years old, however you'd be forgiven for thinking it was twenty years old considering the condition it's in. How to clear glass properly to leave no marks
How to remove tar/brown build up in difficult places to reach on alloys
    Remove chocolate from upholstery
Alternative techniques for cleaning carpets if you don’t have a wet vac
How you get rid of white residue from wax that’s strayed on to exterior black plastics.
Etc. I’m sure between us, your subscribers, we could build a whole list of things we can’t do properly when cleaning cars!!
And what you’d recommend buying from Halfords/similar shop to get these things done. Thanks! Love the videos!

Now _these_ videos are *real* detailing, I just recently over-paid at a local "Full Valet & Detailing" business for not even half a job, despite the good words and reviews they had, I'm talking the seats were not even folded down and ash trays untouched etc.
Can we have a video on how to spot a professional in comparison to those who just give it a face-value once over. Thank you :)

my first car was a fiat 126 bis. it was it first registered a year after i was born. one owner since new only used by an old biddy once a week to go shopping. set me back £50 and i later sold it for grand to a collector from london. if i'd have known what a gem i had i would have asked for twice that amount. they go for upwards of £2500 now in mint condition like that. i regretted getting rid of everyday since

My first car was a worn out 1985 Riviera that had been sitting in a field for a decade, had a huge mouse nest in the muffler (fluff and seeds came out like a shotgun blast the first time I fired up the 5.0 liter V8), and the frame was so rusted that when I took it to the mechanic to have it inspected, the frame BENT IN HALF when he lifted it off the ground with the hoist.
That day I learned to never buy a used car from the Midwest (US) without a thorough inspection FIRST!

If your mate turned up to my house with the van in that mess I'd send him away. I think your van reflects on how you work. If you don't look after the very thing that gets you to work, your work isn't up to much. My first car was a Corsa b T906RDO had to put a litre of oil in it every 100 miles

Just bought a old caddy from a agricultural workshop. Not been cleaned in about 10 years. Horrible haha and my first car was a 1.25 fiesta, btw that's clean compared to the one I bought!

Good work and thanks for all of the helpful ideas. It's funny how customs vary from country to country. In the US we typically go ahead and Drink the coffee.

What did I think of this van prior to detailing? One of the first things I look at when contracting a tradesman is his or her vehicle. The condition of the interior says a lot about the person's habits. Customers rarely notice cleanliness, but they sure notice filth and disorganization. ;)

First car was a 1977 Buick Skylark.
This one was a mess. Even though it's a work van, you have to have some kind of pride in how your ride looks inside and out no matter for work or pleasure.

My first and current car is a 1996 Mercedes w202 c220 Elegance. Really reliable and comfortable car, really like it. Sadly the body consists mainly of rust at this point. Probably gonna go into export before the next MOT. Im gonna miss that car with its soft suspension and wood trim... Fcking Rust. Your videos actually inspired me to give it a deep clean, and it certainly has been worth it, I didn't know the seats were actually a slightly different colour....

Try NCS (No Copyright Music) for the royalty free music. You just need to post their link in the description to use it, no other hassle. P.S enjoyed your work, it gives me a lot of satisfaction. Keep It Up👍

My first car was a Black Capri 2.0S great for an 18 year old in 1988. Your mates car was utterly disgusting and trust he bought you a few pints and a meal down the pub. Good work again.

First car was a 2001 1.4 Honda Civic EP1. Cost £2700 for my first years insurance! Had it 2 years, not a problem. Got it from an auction for £1000 on 43,000 miles, sold it on 57,000. Very odd gearbox, especially for a new driver.

1961 mini 850 that you needed to hold gear-lever in 2nd to stop it jumping out of gear ! And oil pressure light took 30 secs to go out after starring engine from cold, on 5 secs from hot start.

Your mates van was a mess. To be fair though, if you're not a detailer and this is a work vehicle for a contractor or handyman you'd not notice the dirt build up for a while. In the end you did a cracking great job cleaning it up! 👌 My first car here in Canada was a 1974 Ford Maverick.
