My Drennan 3 meter handle I've had for years. Yes there are times when it won't lock off. This is generally due to maintain. Clean the internal
Of the rear pole and feral from time to time with kitchen towel. Unsrew the feral, clean, and reasemble. If still not locking, remove the cleaned feral, Where you see a shiny surface on the feral smear with a tiny amount of super glue, let it dry hard. Screw back on. If difficult to reinsert into handle make sure you haven't screwed the feral to tight. If not. Lightly sand the super glue on the feral. Reinsert and test. This has worked for months in the past.I fish, 3 times a week, for years extending and contracting the handle from swim to swim and replaced the feral twice. Each time my tackle shop has replaced the feral for free and the handles works perfect. If you had to pay for the feral I'm sure it would be just a pound or two. And remember all moving parts on anything wear in time.
